you do have all the options passive gives you also, you are just choosing not to use passive. That your issue not the games and to be honest your downfall. If your not pissing around griefing yourself then stay in passive and shop in passive then you wont get bitchslapped so many times by ppl who know how to play the game as it is at time of playing.

TKP You're acting like I don't know how to use passive?! I know how to use it, and I can understand it can give me an upper hand. But it turned the game totally gay, everybody will be passive all the time... nice... Lets play the sims instead!

I've been on the new version since it came out, pretty much every hour I've not been at work or asleep. I have never seen what you're lying talking about.

Yep. Except after 1.17 on old-gen, they nerfed the hell out of it.

Looks like good, old-fashioned Passive Mode is back, guys.

Guess I'll be buying a PS4 this week, after all.

People complained and complained about being able to be killed while in a car and in Passive Mode.

Well, Rockstar heard you guys and accommodated accordingly.

If it was up to me, they would just bring back pre-1.17 Passive Mode. You know, the Passive Mode that worked just fine since Day 1.
They'll nerf this current Passive Mode. They HAD to test it out to see how it went first.
Just bring back old Passive Mode from 1.16 and before.

I actually agree that passive mode is ridiculous but you can't be angry that people want to play the game the way they want with the options they have. Lobby options would still be a way better solution but R* is against it for some reason. It would group pvp players together in a lobby that would be pretty exciting and give the pve players the chill lobby they are looking for.

 

Meh, i'm just beating a dead horse at this point.

Everybody isn't obviously in passive always if your getting griefed by it. (you aint) You decided to go and play sims by going shopping when you knew there was someone who was gunning for you in the same session. Learn and adapt is the key here. Bad timing on your part seems at fault. Same for the jet guy, you tried to harass him and he turned the tables on you. Learn and adapt.

 

BTW how can a game be gay? (age?) It's just changed. Dont like it dont play it. If R* deem it's being abused they will adjust it again at a later date. At this point are you going to bitch again or maybe just maybe do as we say and learn and adapt again. You bought the constantly evolving GTAO R* has been plugging/advertising from day one. Don't go blaming the game & R*, and def don't go telling me how I'm acting. I'm stating facts not acting at all.

This new passive mode is HORRIBLE. Just played for about 1 hour. Allmost EVERYONE is abusing this horrible, game-ruining, new passive mode.

 

Examples:

- So I send some merryweather mercs after a guy. What does he do? Go onto passive mode. What happens? Boom, instant ''escaped mercanacries''.

- This guy runs up to me, kills me for no reason out of no where, I respawn and approach him for revenge. He goes passive mode. I drive off, he keeps following me in passive. Just when I was buying some clothes, he goes out of passive and shoot me again.

- Jet griefers now use passive to go to the military base and grab a jet. You can't stop them in any way from getting a jet. So when I got f*cked by a jet griefer. I grabbed a jet myself, tried to take him out in a dog fight. What does he do? He goes on passive mode. Then he goes off the radar, stalks me (flew above me apparently), goes out of passive mode and kills my jet.

- Got in a car chase with this guy that just killed me. Instead of a nice car chase (hopefully ending in a kill), he goes onto passive mode. Nice...

 

Also, sometimes it's glitched as f*ck, ending up in the passive guy being able to ram you/run you over. And you not being able too shoot em/blow em up....

 

These examples are DIFFREND persons. Not just 1 troll/abuser. This system sucks alot of dick.

Basicly, this game is f*cked with this new passive mode ;) Rockstar is f*cking stupid.

Except for the first point, you could've averted all that by... going in passive mode :D Come on over to the dark side :sly:

Passive mode was put there because they know idiots can't keep their hands to themselves, but from the sounds of things the feature is now being weaponized by the very losers it was designed to police.

They should only let you go in and out of it while in your garage or apartment, anything else and it will be abused.

 

For every 1 guy in passive that wants to shop, there's 10 using it to grief other players.

Totally agree on this also. 60 seconds is too short tho. By extending it to 10 mins or 5 mins means that you can't just pop in and out. If you want to be in passive then go but you aint getting back in once you have left for a longer period would work better overall. I'm happy either way tho because if I'm in passive its because Im in a lobby/session that is playing a different game style than I'm interested in playing at this time. Simples. (It is what it is tho. I'd just like to get a stable session for long enough to have a good gaming experience at the minute.)

I quite like the new passive mode. It is a bit glitched though. I went into passive to make a phone call, but was still getting run over by players in vehicles. That's twice it's happened now. Other than that it's pretty decent apart from player dots not showing any different from non passive dots.

There should be a 60 second countdown for when people disable passive - leaving them open to getting killed, while they can't kill.
