To anyone complaining about slowness: Did you notice it in older versions as well or is it a recent problem? Have you tried turning off various things to see how they affect performance? I noticed it too, but I didn't try to find the cause yet.

i tried it with an older version (1.6 ) didn't notice any performance drop , only happened in 1.8 a / 1.8 b for me.

Well, I noticed that perfomance drop too with 1.8 versions, actually I'm using the 1.5a. :D

Yep stuttering only happens with the new versions after 1.6, and its quite noticeable sometimes.

I did some tests now cause I noticed the slowness as well but I found that it's that way in all versions and it has to do with the grass so I don't know if we're talking about the same thing here. Anyway, the dual pass and especially disabling backface culling really slows down the game at higher resolutions (I mostly tested in a 640x480 window so I hardly noticed it before).

Funny thing, with the same .ini configuration theres a huge diference between this 2 San Andreas

Things To Do In San Andreas + SkyGfx

inIUZbianREWN.png

PC + timecyc.dat from Things To Do In San Andreas + SkyGfx

i6Dp0c2Lk114D.png

You can upload the timecyc.dat from TTDISA?

Here you have it, but im prety sure timecyc.dat from TTDISA is normal PC timecycp.dat renamed to timecyc.dat

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxwynpSZpMPMQVloNVI2TEJCNUU/view?usp=sharing

Update: Seems like I found the perfect setting, 360 to view distance:

PC + timecyc.dat from Things To Do In San Andreas + SkyGfx + view distance set to 360

Offtopic: The TTDISA timecyc is the same file as SA PS2 disc. Isn't a timecycp.dat renamed. :)

I'm using 1.4a now and I don't feel the lagginess anymore. I also tried to play with grass enabled and I don't get any lagginess feel from that either.

Try installing ps2 timecyc (there are various ways to get custom timecyc working with SAMP)

Or:

Don't use mods

Don't use SAMP

No. What's wrong with you people? Every time there is a bug, you say "can anyone give me the old version?"...this is not how it works. I want to *find* the bug and fix it. So...can you snap a frame with PIX and send it to me? I assume there is something wrong with the lights. Have you tried a vanilla game with just silentpatch and PS2 timecyc.dat?

how should i do it ? since the no-reflection on SAMP issue also happens to me , i'll gladly do it for ya.

and yes , i've tried it with vanilla game , and all vehicle have a proper lighting and reflection like it should on SA-MP , but when using SkyGFX , the lighting and reflection is gone.

I lol'ed at this, very true.

Nice mod, glad I helped somewhere along the way and it actually turned into a thing :)

If anyone's getting invisible stuff with SAMP, I figured how to fix that. First you need SilentPatchSA and SAMPGraphicsRestore, then open skygfx.ini and change worldpipe to -1. This has a side effect of disabling the world dual pass so you will want to go inside SilentPatchSA.ini and change TwoPassRendering to 2. SAMPGraphicsRestore might not be needed but it's nice to have just in case.

Once you got it set up like that, you should be able to have all the SkyGfx features, including world dual pass (using the SilentPatch workaround).

You can also just use SAMPGraphicsRestore without needing to disable The Hero's worldpipe override, but this still causes some server-placed objects to be invisible (but the default SA world is fine). I might capture a PIX later of it, but it sounds like SAMP's problem.

Just replace SA original timecyc.dat with the one of the download link, or use modloader to avoid replacing files.

Also I have many other mods like texture fixes, texture replacements, vehicle fixes and improvements, touched some skygfx settings, etc.
