Does this mod work with the standard 1.0 US exe that requires the disc, or does it only work with Hoodlum or compact?

oh, i found the way how to fully disable this grass. thx for your support :3

How did you do it? I also have the same problem. The grass causes lag. Apart from that, the game runs smoothly.

Hello, The Hero!

Rectangular shadows are back. I always skiped this cutscene, so maybe that is why I didnt noticed this before. This shadow is not constant, it becomes normal when camera changes angle.

P.S. Latest version, default settings

UPD Wait, have just restarted my PC and they are Ok now O_o WTF? I will keep watching this

So do you have problems now or not? Shadows should have been fixed in the most recent version (I hope, I don't have vehicle shadows other than the stencil ones). Also this bug should never appear with VCS reflections turned off.

No, still no problems since the "first" restart (that was actually single BSOD after I exit SA). I keep watching this cutscene and restarting my PC for 2 hours (and I really feel dumb XD) and they are still OK. All settings were and are totally default without any VCS stuff. I will report if I see the problem again.

LOL! How I wish I could afford a new PC.

Anyway, I tried reinstalling the driver of my GPU (GeForce GTX 650) and it finally fixed the lag, among other things. Probably has something to do with the fact that I got the driver from Windows Update.

First thing first, hello! :) I had the same problem, dont know why because I actualy play on last years 15 inch laptop in 640x400 for that ps2 feel :) Try parameters in Skygfx:

oneGrassModel=0

backfaceCull=1 (for this one I am not sure)

Secondly, I've notices that the grass seems to be unusualy tall in whole san fierro area and around mount chiliad. CJ as Alice in Wonderland :D Color is also a bit over the top. Altough it worked for me in los santos. I know it's because of "ps2ModulateGrass=1" line.

Then, game tends crashing when tryinig to acess palomino creek area. Maybe it's just me, don't know.

And I wanted to say thanks to everybody for making this work, since I never felt the need to register and comment :) Hvala najlepse!

Any chance you could look into the lagginess issue? It sucks to play at 60+ fps and it feels like 15 fps.

Have you played with the settings? Try fiddling with color filter, radiosity and see if it makes a difference (e.g. playing without downsampled VCS trails kills performance).

It's not the FPS itself that's the issue. I constantly get 60+ fps, and I checked this, but the game's controls feel laggy. Looking around etc, moving.

I can confirm this, ever since I got my new videocard (GTX 970) I noticed the game became really damn "laggy" with this mod, even though the framerate is locked at 30fps and never drops. No idea if this is caused by the new versions or whatever, but if you can look into the cause of this it will be much appreciated.

What's frametime?

You can check it with msi afterburner for example

Yeah 30 fps isn't as smooth as it should be, although it never drops below 30. I often feel heavy stuttering with it :/

I guess this is normal for SA, btw just tried removing SkyGfx and nothing changed, still quite laggy. This is really weird since with my old GT 630 playing at 30fps was way smoother.

This mod should not make the game lag, not atleast when everything is not set at high.

I myself play with this mod and that too on a 64mb intel video card and it only lags bcoz of grass settings.

I remember nvidia has some kind of render ahead setting that I never really understood.

But I know it's somewhat involved with stuttering and alike.

You may want to check it in the control panel

You realize that barely meets minimum requirements?

You can't have super-duper graphics with that

Yeah! That's max prerendered frames setting in Nvidia control panel. I totally forgot that I'm still using it since the long time ago and see no stuttering  I have it set to 1 and it seems to be enough.

Ahhh, thats one of two biggest problems that remains in SA AFAIK. PC map improves it a bit in an awkward way. For example amusement park has some benches with peds and there is some illusion of "not-emtyness". But with PS2 map it is totally "pedless".

Aight so I mentioned this a while ago but I don't think anyone saw it, this propeller bug thingy seem to be caused by using dualPassVehicle=1:

5a3XffE.png

Would it be possible to disable dual-pass for rotors/propellers while keeping it for the rest of the vehicle?

Hello The Hero !
Could you please take a look at the Moon. It kinda "doubles" and that second Moon moves behind the first one while I move camera. I doublechecked it on the clean game.

With SkyFX

Well, duh, it was supposed to be like that. But maybe not that noticable. Actually SkyGFX doubles the whole picture and increases it's size a little, that's why the moons' relative placement changes according to their position on screen. To disable doubling you have to change radiosityOffset variable in skygfx.ini to 0.

PS. The Hero, how is it going with the reflections?

Oh right, that rotor thing. Should have a look at it...

As for the reflections (or the fog for that matter), I haven't made any progress, because it's pretty hard to find out how it's implemented and because I don't have time right now (university).

Funny thing, with the same .ini configuration theres a huge diference between this 2 San Andreas

Is there any chance you could look into the somewhat laggy feel when using the modification? I run 60FPS+ with SkyGFX, but it feels very sluggish. I reverted back to enbseries + colormod on 45FPS and that feels way smoother than SkyGFX ever did, which is a shame. There's definitely something going on with SkyGFX, but I can't seem to fix it myself by messing with the settings.

I'm sorry for this question , but what means ''DualPass?''

Also I set to 1 some commands that were default to 0 on SkyGfx.ini , things like the ps2ambient and dualPassWorld , dualPassDefault , dualPassVehicle and dualPassPed (and some more) I'm wondering if I should undo what I did? It's bad that I turn they on?

Sorry , I don't really understand these things.

The dual pass options enable a second draw pass for the pipelines you activate it. It's a way to emulate the way the PS2, which has a more sophisticated alpha test, draws pixels.

The options for the dual pass should actually be enabled by default in my skygfx.ini.

To anyone complaining about slowness: Did you notice it in older versions as well or is it a recent problem? Have you tried turning off various things to see how they affect performance? I noticed it too, but I didn't try to find the cause yet.

Update: Seems like I found the perfect setting, 360 to view distance:

PC + timecyc.dat from Things To Do In San Andreas + SkyGfx + view distance set to 360
