SkyGfx: PS2, Xbox and Mobile graphics for PC

PS2. PC one is broken and should not be used by anyone. timecyc.dat from PS2 is fine and any timecycp.dat is fine too (cause it's PS2 as well, but PAL).

Wow, never knew it's related on console regions. Just curious what is the actual difference in those timecycs then?

Are they somehow tied to FPS, so PAL one that is used with 50 FPS on PS2 could work incorrectly on PC with its 60(30 with frame limiter) FPS?

There is just a single colour that's slightly different. I can only assume they had something more interesting planned but didn't follow through.

in case you ask, yes tested in a clean game to, i only use mods, like map fixes, and script fixes, but i test this problem on a clean game to only with skygfx and silentpatch and timecycp

Hm. interesting. The damn postfx alpha values have always been a problem. I'll have to look into it again sometime but not right now.

Hi, first, i know this may sound stupid, sorry, but, is there a way to disable everything the mod has except the blood and water particles on screen?, i would love to have my game with just those features, thx!

Yes, just set everything to PC values except those.

Actually i have another question tbh what does detail maps do? I used it but i dont see any difference i was just pretending to know

It adds the mobile detail maps on almost all textures, this does require the mobile_details.txd & texdb.txt file in the models folder.

Mobile does not use the reflection mask texture that Neo does.

You could just replace the texture with an even grey one (or white/black if you prefer the outcome).

Nope that didn't work out.

Mind you this dark patch is always present but only visible when viewing a vehicle from up top. It's not visible at all when looking at a vehicle from the sides.

I'm no expert but this may be a potential bug with the env pipeline.

Hey everybody, hope you're doing well! I love the gta games, especially Vice City and San Andreas! I wanted to play Vice City in my free time, and I learned about this method of making the gaming experience better, by adding the PS2 graphics! First of all a big thank you to OP and everybody who took part in making this mod(?) possible!

I'm a newbie, so excuse me but can somebody show me a step by step guide how to put skygfx in use? 

 

I have Vice City 1.0 installed.

I downloaded the skygfx v3.0a files, simple dll loader, Ultimate-ASI-Loader, Sharptrails but I'm stuck at this step:
(the quote below from the README of skygfx)
" Have the .dll/.asi loaded by the Simple DLL loader [1] or Ultimate ASI loader [2].
  SkyGFX no longer can be loaded with the built-in mss32 ASI loader.
  Put III, VC}/skygfx.ini into the same directory as the dll.
- Place {III, VC}/neo/ into the game's main directory or the directory the dll was loaded from"

 

(the quote below from the README of Sharptrails)

"Have sharptrails.dll loaded by a dll/asi loader. You may have to change the file extension to "asi"."

ultimate asi loader should come with folder called scripts.

put the skygfx.asi and ini and neo folder to scripts folder

put sharptrails.asi to scripts folder

play

ignore skygfx.dll and sharptrails.dll

Xbox uses Neo reflections on Vehicles, Xbox building pipe, Neo water drops, Gloss maps on and Rim lighting turned on. So just enable those in the ini.

It is not a bug, but it is actually Fresnel, you can adjust it by adjusting envFresnel in skygfx.ini

I tried that and that doesn't resolve it sadly.

As you can see a dark patch is visible in env when viewing the vehicle from up top but not in mobile. Changing fresnel to a high value does hide it but then the reflections are not visible

Yes, because as stated, this is from NEO, it's the CarReflectionMask texture. ENV combines the best of Mobile and Neo so you get the real time cube mapping from Mobile but the colour correction, highlights, etc, from Neo.
