SkyGfx: PS2, Xbox and Mobile graphics for PC

I figured this might be the palce for me when it comes to asking for help. I've done a cursory search on this thread and didn't find the answer, though, so apologies if this is a repeat question.

GTAIII seems to not load the sky, when skyGFX is installed. Specifically, it's purely black, with no chance of a proper sky or colors. It doesn't make sense for it to be timecyc, as the game loads the sky without skyGFX.

I fixed it, I just needed to input seamfix=0 on SkyGFX.

Unfortunately, I have a second problem; the droplets of rain/blood don't seem to function in any form, they're only black spots.

Nope, neo folder's nice and snug in <path-to-game>\scripts, where skygfx.asi resides. Even had a second copy of that folder in the root. Nowt.

Weird, nothing of you have showed above happens on my game, and I have the seamfix setting enabled.

 Delete your gta3.set file and reconfigure your in-game settings again. That's how I fixed the same issue ages ago.

I just did that; the droplets are still black spots. I'm at a loss as to what actually happened.

I'm either a dumbass, or SkyGFX just doesn't like GTAIII on my PC.

Isn't the neo folder supposed to be in root directory and not in scripts though?... At least it is for SA.

Hi everyone, just created an account to post and say that the SkyGFX has really enhanced my classic GTA experience alot, thank you!

 

I did notice that the heat haze effect in Vice City is a little buggy, when I look up I see this https://imgur.com/ItSJBP5

 

But if I use vctrails from https://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=22416 and remove SkyGFX, the heat haze works fine, not sure what's conflicting, I wish I could edit it myself, but I like SkyGFX so I'll just keep using that as its not that bad.

I did change trails slightly to be more like on PS2...it's possible this causes problems. This effect looks buggy sometimes anyways. Have you tried sharptrails? maybe you'll like that.

I tried it and I actually like the blurring effect of the original trails, I like the PS2 version feel of it.

Hi everyone

I really don't know nothing about modding and stuff, i'm plain ignorant but i just managed to make things work on III and VC by following some steps here and there.

All this stuff is pretty tasteful, you guys did an amazing job, i never played these games this way, i never had a ps2 back in the day so this is kind of a new experience for me.

Anyway, i got this issue on SA with skygfx, i just don't know what i'm doing wrong, i didn't have any issue with III and VC, i just used to drag and drop the stuff into the scripts folder but here nothing seems to work...what to do?

They're specifically designed for that purpose I believe since some didn't like the blur. Anyway, it works fine in conjunction with skygfx.

Hi everyone

I don't know nothing about modding and stuff, i'm just plain ignorant, somehow i managed to make things work with III and VC by following some steps here and there and everything works great, but now i can't get skyfgx to work on SA.

I don't know what i'm doing wrong, i just try to do the same thing, drag and drop asi and ini with neo folder into the scripts folder but nothing happens, tried in game's directory, tried modloader, i thought about asi loader idk i tried a bunch of combinations but nothing seems to solve this.

These mods are cool you did a great job, it's like a new experience 'cause i never had a ps2, i got the old retail version.

Help me please...

So hey, nobody's business, but I've done some troubleshooting; the droplets -do- work, using the 'Extended+Blood' setting, as long as the game isn't using the 'III.VC.SA.WindowedMode' ASI plugin. Oddly enough, I do not get this issue on Vice City, despite using the same plugin.

It's a shame that I can't use the droplets in windowed mode, but alas. Better than nothing.

It works with windowed mode plugin as well. Probably your plugin is outdated.

Then, your issues are really weird. Try reinstalling your whole game to get a totally clean installation obviously. Get a proper 1.0 executable, and install everything again. Try every mod one by one.

anyone know how to let Neo car pipe work in VC?please tell me

I toggled it on,also put rwd3d9.dll into game folder,but it just don't work.

Hey there, i solved my issue, skygfx works now although i might have some questions, i mean, i'm doubtful and ignorant...

btw does anybody know why this happens?
