It's just that if too many rain drops are sprayed the screen is full and new ones won't appear until the old ones have disappeared. It's not really a bug, but it could look nicer.

In the old version for SA the droplets would gradually "fade in" when rainy weather starts, now it's in "bursts" and looks pretty ugly. I think that's what happened.

Pretty sure that is fixed with mugetsuga's bright grass fix, you can find it in the workshops section.

@ThirteenAG

It has to be a joke, apparently the bugs in the droplets do not stop appearing, I guess you can not fix something without appearing more errors, at least they have taken the trouble to fix most bugs present in this addition, always I asked myself, where did they get the idea of putting drops on the screen ?, Do not remember having seen anything like it in any GTA, not even in GTA 5, the droplets present in GTA VC do not look at all like those of Skygfx.

So, this is the called 'droplets wave bug'? I can't remember if in all of my tests with droplets stuff along the three games I noticed it. Anyway good catch, seems to be a rendering issue, isn't? They appear, fades right away, appear it again and repeat. Older version droplets was fading gradually while 'new' droplets was appearing at the same time. In current version they are appearing in a burst way indeed.

I facepalm'd so hard. Have do you heard about Xbox version? That's where the droplets appeared originally in GTA III and Vice City, then later (years and years later) were ported to PC with skygfx and was an addon for San Andreas, since Xbox version of SA isn't too awesome as III and VC.

Oh well, so the drops are originally from GTA VC of the Xbox version, I had not really seen it, maybe because I have not played that version yet, you know it would be great to add droplets like GTA VC (PS2 - PC) in future versions, maybe in Skygfx 4.1 or 4.2, at the time they will be easier to program than neoDrops, well actually there are still some features that could be added in future versions, so there is still some pulp in the orange

I doubt that Vice City droplets can be implemented or at least in my opinion, they doesn't worth it. Since Xbox droplets have motion and aren't static as the PS2/PC ones.

maybe the droplets of GTA VC could be a good option for users to which neoDrops can take some fps, well, although I doubt that someone has a PC made from a toaster to make skygfx consume more than an enbseries that only increases the game brightness and you get down to 15 fps or more.

Xbox droplets draining fps? How can be possible? What's your hardware?...

Well actually I just said it as a probability, there is always someone who has problems with something, and I am completely sure that neoDrops are not the exception, I have no problems with neoDrops, GTA SA (without mods) runs at more than 60fps in graphics low, and more than 70 when adding mippmaping in all the texture,

Quote

Hardware:

-Graphics: Intel HD Graphics
-RAM: 4GB
-System: Windows 10
-Processor: Intel Celeron CPU N3350 1.10GHz
-Hard disk: 500GB
-DirectX version: DirectX 12

the only thing of Skygfx that takes fps, are the Neo reflections which take me as 10 fps for every 3 cars, and if I increase envMapSize to more than 256 it takes more fps.

EDIT: Well, I do not really know how many fps take the Neo reflections, but the more cars there are, the more lagged it gets

Well, neo reflections it is obvious. Each vehicle on screen are multiplying the environment map so needs more memory.

Yes, that is why I also prefer to use Mobile reflections, Leeds reflections or the classic PS2 reflections, the only thing that has Neo reflections different from the rest, is that the Neo reflections are not distorted.

@Razor_BladePL are you sure? I can't remember notice it in previous versions. Maybe I didn't put attention to it. But oh well, has been somewhat a long time like to report it until now, isn't? Even TAG did a lot of fixes, I helped him with some reports and this wasn't included lol.

I only changed when and where droplets appear, not how they appear. Problem is, "prt_splash" appears during the rain (causing an additional droplet "splash"), which I didn't remove, but should have.

Let's see if removing all "prt_splash" hooks will make things better. Do note some droplet spawns may disappear, particularly ped foot splash and car wheel splash, but since it's during the rain, doesn't matter much I guess?

Also, is this issue in VC or III? I believe I filtered out all rain particles there, but could of course overlook something.

Everything droplets related seems to be working fine in III and VC last time I tested. As far as I know and by @Razor_BladePL proof seems to be only SA.

@ThirteenAG@ThirteenAG Rain issue is fixed but i found another bug

if camera is under this angle droplets DONT show up at all:

https://imgur.com/a/SEfUnzn

Second issue is that the issue which you fixed now for the rain is STILL present for the blood, can be VERY noticable expecially when using a chainsaw on a dead body,

Another issue is that there is more droplets showing up when you are in a car then on foot VERY noticable

In car:

https://imgur.com/PeIDjPR

On foot:

https://imgur.com/x8Wwpsy

I tried it several times and its really not random... EVERY time im in a car i see more droplets then on foot, mostly noticable RIGHT after you get into the car Lots of droplets appear out of nowhere and its a lot more then on foot.

Side note to you:

I really like the NFS Carbon droplets! :) any possibility of a release for that game as a separate mod?

EDIT2: Same bug which was happenning with the rain also happends with Swimming!

EDIT3: The distance of the fountain droplets spray is too low, also it has same bug as the one with the rain, also check it!

@Razor_BladePL do you ever mentioned if the rain "bug" was fixed or not? Instead of add a bunch of new supposed bugs can you discard the first one, report it then add more stuff if you want? It is really hard to read all of your post with those wall texts everywhere, edits and screenshot links instead of post the image itself here in the thread.

Is it possible to make dynamic plants (trees etc.) fade in/out on distance, like grass, instead of suddenly appearing? I see those plants appear suddenly even in clean vanilla game, but on PS2 they fade in/out correctly.

Good idea. I don't think it'll happen for this release, but it's something to keep in mind. I'm just waiting for some more rain drops code, then I'll do the release.

Well, can you do something with droplets appearance when there's multiple things spawn them at once? I think it better to improve that at this point.
