Um, this is strange. But is it normal that I get about 20fps drop from this mod? Even without Neo reflections? I have i7-4510U, 8GB, 840M, only with SkyGFX and SilentPatch I get about 50-60fps with Neo Reflections (30-40fps when next to like 5-6 cars) and that's in singleplayer, without Neo reflections I get about 70fps and with only SilentPatch I get about 80-100fps.

And someone told me that SkyGFX isn't fps impactful... But like, even with those things disabled, the result doesn't change for me.

It isn't really, with respectful hardware. Take enb-series for example. That'll decimate performance no matter what. Even with skygfx, 4X SGSSAA is still a possibility for me with just a laptop and it'll stay at a healthy 30 fps (anything higher messes up physics anyway).

If you're NOT using any of those features and your performance is still tanking, you probably have a very old GPU or very outdated drivers.

@ThirteenAG since you're adding and fixing stuff with the droplets... is there a way to enable the droplets using the first person view camera mode when you are looking around to a water source as a broken hydrant, raining, etc in III and VC? I can't remember if the Xbox version had this feature, but anyway would be nice to have it and makes sense.

Pretty sure I wanted it that way from the start, but I think aap made it that way to match xbox behavior.

It seems to be working fine now. Just a thing, I need to adjust the camera mode to a very close angle everytime I drive the Marquis or any other big boat as Reefer, Tropic, etc to make the droplets appear. It can be fixed? Despite you increased the distance for camera but isn't seems to be working fine.

 

EDIT:

Droplets appear when moving the camera with the mouse, but not from behind angle. I didn't test spinning the camera with the mouse to frontal view of the boat.

 

EDIT 2:

Nothing to do with boats, but droplets doesn't appear at this camera angle when you are swimming:

I need to move the camera slightly to get them to appear. I hope i'm not being annoying but I'm trying to report everything that can be fixed or whatever, before a potential release by aap.

That isn't a problem anymore. Next III/VC build includes two switches for water droplets: 1 for OG Xbox behaviour and 2 for OG Xbox plus every additional behaviour you added to it. So, you can add that feature to your enhanced water droplets behaviour. Will be amazing, I'm really interested in have it that way.

I didn't make it to behave that way specifically, but since it's working that way, maybe it's better leave it as is? For example, when you do a mission on a boat, constantly have droplets could be annoying, but when they appear sometimes depending on camera is fine.

Yes, but the idea is to only show droplets if camera is near the water particle.

I can't compile III/VC version currently because there's some shader files missing from repository, so no promises yet.

Let's see, it should be water droplets on screen when you looking from behind too, for example in the Marquis water particle it is getting created towards camera direction when you are accelerating, try to reproduce it in your game. When you stop the boat, water particles and skygfx droplets doesn't show up anymore until you accelerate again and is correct in my opinion. If you can test the Reefer and the Tropic to see if water particle behaves the same as Marquis, I'll appreciate it. Also, VC has constantly water droplets on screen when you are driving a boat (IIRC). In few words, the issue now is just with big boats, everything else is working fine. Is the unique thing left and droplets stuff will be fully patched in skygfx for SA in my opinion until something else gets broken lol. What do you think about it?

 

Im gonna check III and VC to see if there are missing stuff too, but I don't think so there are a lot of stuff to do. In comparison to SA of course, since everything to droplets related is working fine there since day 1.

I have NVIDIA GeForce 840M which is from 2014 and I'm on 416.16 drivers.

The thing is, I'm thinking about starting playing SA:MP again and as with SkyGFX using Neo reflection next to like 5 cars fps can even drop to 30-40fps on singleplayer, then imagine how big of a drop will be on multiplayer? And please don't tell me that my PC isn't capable, even with HD 5450 on like 10-15 years old computer I could play SA:MP with ENB at like 20-30fps but if I remember correctly it was on Windows XP.

It's not really an issue, since it behaves differently because camera position is further away from the boat.

There could be a conflict somewhere then as that GPU should be more than enough.

Well, I only have Silent's ASI Loader, SilentPatch and SkyGFX installed at the moment so I don't think so that's the problem with mods. And if you're wondering, I'm sure that the game runs on the NVIDIA not Intel, but it only utilizes about 60% of it.

It appears that I missed one DualPass setting in the .ini, and now even with Neo Reflections fps stays about 60-70 most of the time in single player.

Great. Thanks a lot, now every boat beahves correctly as happens in VC too. Everything related to water droplets in SA seems to be fully patched now, finally. Now you can ship it again to aap's GitHub. I'll check III and VC later to report stuff that can be fixed or changed somewhat. :)

good work, I really do not care much about the water and blood drops on the screen, it's not something I use frequently, but even so it seems excellent that they have been fixed

Recently found out about skygfx , and thought it was a wonder , but ever since i installed it , i've been getting a lot of issues with it , Probably the biggest one is with the ps2 config , i've tried many things with the .ini file , When using the ini file for ps2 , it looks something like this

Thats the ps2 ini , another issue i have is that , it show up untill i change the res ,then it shows a image , its all black until i change res 

i also have issue with the time , if i die at daytime , and respawn at night , shadows will look like if they were at day light

only config i managed to make work is the xbox one , having to change settings of course , the shadow issue is still there tho :(
and havent tried changing the timecyc to the ps2 one , but i think it wont help 


i can allways provide more info , but please help , been trying everything , yet nothing works , love this mod , but i cant enjoy it properly , any help is welcomed

I tweaked underwater check a bit, now droplets should be visible when camera near water and they will instantly disappear if camera put underwater:

@ThirteenAG just a question, is possible to tweak the water droplets that appear on screen when you're driving a boat in SA to the same quantity as VC? I mean, there is a lot of droplets in SA when in VC isn't like that.

 

EDIT:

I see that every additional behaviour apart of boats have the same droplets quantity so is better to not modify it to match everything. :D
