We already have Stories reflections in SkyGFX. (and they will be fixed in the next release)

 

Those marker colors will be able to be disabled as well, so nothing harms.

thats not the goal of that mod.

And Stories reflections is being REMOVED from SkyGFX, Neo reflections will take their place.

Yes.

Here it is, no more Stories reflections and stop stating things like "they will be fixed for the next release", won't happen.

I forgot that post, but anyway, I'm talking about VCS marker colors, they will be disabled by default if The Hero will add them.

 

Nothing harms with that, so let's wait for his opinion.

But they're an EXE thing, anyone can change them, you just have to know the addresses, which have been documented for ages, it seems completely pointless for SkyGFX to add the marker colours from ONE game for no real damn reason.

 

The aim of SkyGFX is to restore the GRAPHICAL features from PS2, Xbox (Neo) and fix the broken PC ones. Reflections are a graphical feature, the colour of markers is not.

 

edit: To bring it back, nearly done with the carTweak for SA, just gotta sort out some instances where it overpowers the spec at night...

ASH and the others are right, VCS marker colors aren't what this mod is about. If you so desperately need them, modify the source code and compile your own version. "VCS" reflections are being removed as well now because the Neo reflections just look a lot better.

My suspicion turned out to be right. I've reversed some PS2 code now (after losing a lot of work on my idb due to my stupidity) and it's quite clear that the building pipelines don't use the RW lights but something directly out of the timecycle. This explains why I had problems with some models in the converted PS2 map (interior of four dragons casino e.g.), the 3d markers (which use the building pipeline on PS2), and why lightning flashes don't affect buildings. The only thing that I don't understand is how vision fx colors can still work.

 

I hope this means I can implement the PS2 pipelines even more accurately. Originally I figured out a lot just by observation, 3 years later I'm finally reading the code that uploads the data.

With the even better implemented PS2 pipelines, the game will look better or will have any noticeable difference?

You still need ps2 marker dffs because we have to force the building pipeline. Not sure what you mean by broken anims. The parachute maybe? That's the same problem then, wrong pipeline (this time we *don't* want the building pipeline).

 

gts: it gets rid of some lighting bugs. Although now while I was testing I think I was *again* seeing wrong marker colors. Why the f*ck can't they just work for once?

I will have to replay San Andreas once this is done. I love how it looks like the PS2 version and yet has all the features from the newer versions. Now if only we could create a fix for the framerate, would have made everything much better.

forced weather: 2 bytes, 0xC81318 0x66BE2C

old weather: 2 bytes, 0xC81320 0x66BE24

new weather: 2 bytes, 0xC8131C 0x66BE28

weather interpolation 4 bytes float: 0xC8130C 0x66BE38

Add 0x20000000 to the PS2 addresses to use them with pcsx2 directly.

Yes, unless you remove the specular plugin from the dff.

EDIT: Actually no. If you set the fourth component of the specular light in the tweaking table to 0 you shouldn't get any specularity at all.
