EDIT: damn, I just noticed I confused PS2 and PC values (I thought PS2 had 16 and PC 8). will fix soon.
EDIT: Fixed, 16 units = 1 pixel now. I definitely have to find out how this should work exactly :/

Hope it's not too much to ask but can there be a way to have the old reflection map rendering on by default for PS2 reflections, or a toggle? It looks bad on helicopters particularly (all crumpled and weird looking).

I know you can switch to it with F6 but I have to do that every time the game starts.

So basically the same thing like postfx where you can set default effect. I didn't even realize ps2refl has no way to do this.

I think looks nice on every vehicle, finally is the original PS2 reflections.

Yeah, it's nice. But unfotunately it crashes the game just when I leave an interior/house (I've tried msvcr120.dll already).

Strange, because on my game works correctly. Check your modded files.

Also, I using the last postfx with 8 in all values in the stream.ini. Is correctly, right?

I'm not really sure, sorry for the confusion. In the current version a value of 16 will shift the second frame one pixel to the top left (that was the case with a value of 8 in the previous version), but I'm not sure what the PS2 is doing exactly so I will have to investigate a little more. But first I'm gonna implement the effect which is bugged in pcsx2. Shouldn't be too hard but needs a little guesswork as pcsx2 is not really helping that much for obvious reasons :/

How can I turn off the blurred filter?

It begins :p

You should have made it a toggle turned off by default. You know this will only cause people who don't read things to post about it here.

I told you about the toggles bro. I told you dog!

Just wait a bit, I'm working on a new version (with perfect PS2 style effects). Just set the offset values in stream.ini to 0 for now.

Omega_Is_Here

Just thought i'd give a small tip for everyone using this mod.

I noticed i don't seem to have the same orange sky like others

96ky2g.jpg

However i finally got the answer and its simply on what monitor you are playing. For example i have a samsung led monitor and by turning samsung magic angle on and by tweaking the tv brightness and NOT the game's one i got a better ''orange''color. So its up to you to tweak your monitor display settings to get the best out of this mod, good luck.

That reminds me the problem I had long time ago... and still have :)

http://gtaforums.com/topic/750681-relsa-ps2-post-processing-and-car-reflections-on-pc/?p=1066563091

I use SweetFX to correct that brightness\contrast balance. Works well but nights are TOO dark. I tried to mess with monitor settings but had no luck. However your post made me sure that it is monitor's fault (mine is ancient samsung 940N that does not seem to have that option you have). I will try to mess with monitor's settings more :)

The Hero, sorry to ask this again but I'm not getting the PS2-styled reflections when I use your mod. I get a weak sheen as opposed to getting actual PS2-styled reflections. I'm using the 1.0 US exe and my GPU is the GeForce 610M, if that helps.

Also, and I'm not sure if this happens to just me or not, enabling Silent's NVC Shader in his Patch makes the night time sky flicker really badly.

Here's a little guessing game until the new version is done. Which screens are PC with postfx and which pcsx2? (it's not that hard, just showing you we're *really* close now)

Wires tell me that 1 and 3 shots are PC XD So you simulated PCSX2 bug on pc (3 shot) and than fixed it (1 shot)? Than if I am right - you fixed both PC and PCSX2 :) O_o

Wait does that mean you actually fixed the bug in PCSX2 itself? Or is it just hack specific to SA?

I didn't fix the bug, but disabled the effect which is rendered incorrectly. Set pe_bRadiosity to 0 in stream.ini and it won't be rendered. Silent and I are currently trying to figure out how it should be rendered and then implement it on PC.

EDIT: uncaged was right of course, 1 and 3 are PC, 2 and 4 pcsx2.

Oh I was confused by that screen. I thought you actually fixed this in GSDX SW.

Please post a screenshot.

Certainly.

This is the stock Bravura, you can see the sheen mainly on the door:

What happens when you cycle through the pipelines with F6? Also you could send me a PIX frame so I can take a better look.

There's three different pipelines, right?

How do I get a PIX frame?

You download the directx SDK, it includes PIX which you can use to capture single frames (and save them to file). But before you do that, are you sure this is an unmodded game? please try with a vanilla game and see if the bug could be caused by any other mods.

This is how it looks on an unmodified game for me. All I installed was Silent's ASI Loader and I re-downloaded ps2refl.asi from the first post:

You need either SilentPatch or a modified timecyc with proper lighting (timecycp?) otherwise yours cars will be black like that

Ah, thank you Link. Using the timecycp.dat makes it work like it should:

SK4ra1K.png

I wonder why it doesn't work for my main installation (I'm using the same timecyc file and I have no other mods that could tamper with vehicle reflections)...

@SergeantSavadge, that exactly has happened to me a while ago. Remember the ImveFt 2.1.0 not working for me?

I made a new folder with a different name and copied everything from the old folder to that new folder and then it finally works!

Freaking weird, man. It also happens to you now it seems. If something begins crashing and or not working and it stays that way, make a new folder

with a different and copy everything from the non-working folder.

You mean through ModLoader? But ps2refl.asi has to be placed in the root directory or the "scripts" folder, right?

Modloader can load ASI plugins as well. Usually if it works in scripts folder then it works in ML. Is ps2refl.asi exception or something? :D
