That's not Windows, but your DVD drive. Very few can read Xbox discs without flashing the FW.

 

Also great job on those droplets. Xbox versions are truly beatiful. R* Vienna's legacy lives on :inlove:

well that's stupid, i'm glad Sony doesn't do this :D doesn't matter anyway, downloading the ISO right now.. Let's see if i can port some XBOX sounds to PC :D

The new droplets look amazing, buuut: for me no blood droplets spawn anymore whatsoever... :)

Ah, quite possible, I didn't test this. I removed two calls that had to do with the old rain drops...maybe only one was used for rain drops and the other for blood drops....I will take a look some other time...

Okay, ISO download is done and yes Tomasak, you're right, there are actually gloss textures inside the neo folder and a high quality version of III's intro soundtrack :D

Looks like the textures are just applied to the street textures, let's see what aap can do with it soon.

Someone know why the blood splatters on Vice City doesn't appear on screen? I tried uninstalling Trails, Widescreen Fix even SilentPatch for test but the blood droplets do not appear. :(

Thanks for great update, Hero. By the way, I think you should include envMapSize option in the ini with next update, many people definitely still don't know about this feature.

New version 2.1 for III and VC:

- Xbox water drops (right now only for 1.0 exes!!). The effect is using one more file from the neo dir: dropmask.tga, so don't forget that. You also have to enable the effect in the ini, it's turned off by default.

- xbox world pipeline shouldn't affect skinned geometry

It's turned ON by default. You forgot modify the ini. :D

No, I will work on that too again sometime, but there's nothing planned right now. I should probably check out some pipeline stuff again as there have been problems with the PS2 map that I didn't satisfactorily fix. Of course there are some features that could be ported from III/VC skygfx (xbox things). Today I fixed a few bugs in my skinning mod for III. It's really bugging me that I haven't finished that one yet.

Today I fixed a few bugs in my skinning mod for III. It's really bugging me that I haven't finished that one yet.

 

You are still working on it? Awesome! Can't wait to say goodbye to these ugly chunks.

New versions.

2.9 for SA:

- fixed nasty bug concerning the red cylinder; had a wrong alpha value on some (intel?) GPUs, which caused the cylinder to be too bright

- dual pass for PC vehicle pipeline

- implemented a new vehicle pipeline which is somewhat in between the PS2 and Xbox pipelines, I like it!

 

2.1a for III/VC

- re-enabled blood droplets in VC

- documented envMapSize ini-setting

 

As always I hope I didn't break anything.

Which d3d8.dll should I keep, the one from SkyGFX or from ThirteenAG's widescreen fix?

TAG's is better. It has both D3D8to9 wrapper and ASI loader. Just be sure to set UseD3D8to9=1 in scripts\global.ini

If you have his old dinput8 ASI loader then you can delete it. It's useless with this new d3d8 one
