The Hero, sorry to bother you with this one. Timecycs just do something with me I can't control myself lol.

Is it possible to make a new.asi compatible with timecyc mod? I mean you "import" the entire original PC timecyc.dat in that asi

and have it like four or five modes?

Like:

 

PC timecyc with PS2 post fx

PC timecyc without PS2 post fx

PC original timecyc

Timecyc mod without any post fx. Just like no lovelyx.asi is installed

FINALLY, with US gta_sa.exe postfx unleashed he's power !

Thanks to The Hero and he's team GTA SA looks better than perfect + with corrected sun and many other from SilentPatch this glorious game shine like never before.

 

But most importantly - the atmosphere of original game saved, after 10 long years we have bonuses from PS2.

 

Now it's time to test timecyc update mod and seabed.ipl ...

New version: We have PC style environment maps now (so they move with the vehicle). Eventually I want to use the PS2 technique, but PC is better than what we had before I'd say.

postfx+SilentPatch bug: cars drives curiously, stutter in movement, sometimes stand backward and simultaneously move forward. Looks like SilentPatch bug. Advices ?

New, almost-final version: Lights are now brighter when on.

In general, I'm not sure I copied the PS2 behaviour exactly, this is hard to tell, but it's very close now. One thing missing is the PS2 style environment map, but the PC style isn't too bad either.

 

Miller786: Vehicles have two reflection maps. One is the environment map, which fakes reflection from the environment. The other one is the specular map, which the PC pipeline does not use. This mod enables the specular map the PS2 uses and now in the (two) latest version(s) the movement of the environment map.

Maybe you can take a look at how the grass is rendered on PS2

 

Oh btw, the last version of post process have a weird heat haze effect

Shocking people play more than just singleplayer amirite

 

Anyway, the vehicles don't render right on SA-MP, it's either solid color with no textures or just crashes.

I play samp since im bored of playing sp till 100% for the 5th time, anyways on samp the reflection mod just crashes while the ps2 postp flickers, switches from orange skies to night and then to orange skies, overall unstable.

Also there is no need to be rude everytime someone mentions samp, i know its buggy and hard to work with but its also very popular, i think samp devs are doing their best to improve it however if you think you can make a better online multiplayer mod then please do.

Though samp devs don't seem to give a damn about mods and seeing how pretty much every mod is incompatible with samp, it almost feels like they're doing their best NOT to make them work with samp. So why should we care?

Shockingly the world is not only sa-mp

And even more shockingly, you can even avoid using this mod when you are multi-playing

Easy. He could fork MTA with blackjack and hookers at any time if he wanted

 

And for the records, you can't be sure samp devs are doing their best. You can only guess it. But they could even be on holiday.

On the other hand be sure open source is always greener on the other side (of the license front)

I think it's fairly obvious MTA:SA is far less popular and even less mod-friendly than SA-MP is. Forking it by yourself would be pointless since you'd end up with an even deader community (hint: you would be the only one playing it).

 

IDK what Miller's problem is with the postfx, works perfectly in SA-MP for me. The PS2 reflections (Dexx's original version, and this new one) are the only mods that have broken for me on SA-MP so far. ;)

This doesn't require SilentPatch, does it? I play GTA SA on my Oculus Rift, and the SilentPatch is incompatible with TriDef's 3D driver.

 

Never mind: I found the fix for SilentPatch and TriDef driver conflict. Thanks to Silent.

I don't think its relating to streaming memory specifically.

If you have a vanilla game, and only streaming memory fixes (any version/size) then it doesn't happen.

I've tried to pinpoint this bug myself, but to no avail. Maybe its time for a dedicated thread for this exact issue.

I agree we need a dedicated thread for that bug, or just a thread for fixing the bugged streaming and memory usage of this game. This may have nothing to do with this but the game "Scarface - The world is Yours" has a very similar bug when installed in Windows 7/8.

Yes it is, but using only 1 core isn't 100% effective on some computers, what I meant to say is that the bug looks similar to this one so something could be related idk.
