Do ANY of the sensitivity settings adjust the speed of FPView steering

I thought I'd fire up the game and try it some with my new DS3 sticks in DS4 (recommendation? don't do it - WAY too much plastic needs to be trimmed, ugly)

The DS3 stick is taller than DS4, more leverage, finer aiming and it's still SUPER SUPER twitchy to drive FPView vehicles - whereas PS3 version of the game, hood cam seemed totally not twitchy and fine?

I've fiddled with every sensitivity option and I don't think any of them actually manipulate the turning speed? :/ Anyone else notice this?

The DS3 sticks in the DS4 make the FPView camera like 5% better. I only DISLIKE the FPView camera, instead of detest it now. I'd still pay $10 no problem to get the f*cking hood cam back though.

So, has anyone managed to adjust vehicle turning sensitivity?

I've messed around with this and I don't think it does OP.

The steering control is fine for me its just the Free Look in car thats too slow! I need to be able to move left/right rather quickly to check traffic etc but it just takes too damn long to pan across.

I hate this too and its a problem most games have with the interior camera.

Yeah, same here. Usually by the time I'm looking one way to check for traffic I've been t-boned from one side or the other.

The PS4 sticks (or should I call them the DS4 "stumps") are just too short, the leverage is mediocre. This is why companies like Kontrolfreek exist :/

My driving, I have to say - was pretty f*cking good in the hood cam on PS3, - I had real distinct skill driving my Felzter around like crazy, it hugged the road tight and I knew it, I brake (the goddamn secret to not smashing) and corner well, but on the PS4 at best I'm half as good :/

The sensitivity needs a tweak in the steering and the DS4 sticks should be longer, it's sad when I can drive MUCH better on the PS3 than the PS4, despite a higher frame rate.

Should also remember too that R* tweaked the handling of cars a bit on new gen. It's not just the controller that is making the driving feel off. At least for me this was the case. It definitely took a little time to get used to.

For example the Massacro:

I was a great driver with it on PS3 but on PS4 they tweaked it where it is harder to make turns at high speeds. I have to learn how to handle it all over.

Yeah, the first car I hopped into on NG after the prologue and first Lamar mission was a Peyote and for the first 5 minutes I couldn't manage to get it around a bend without spinning it 360 degrees.

DUALSHOCK 4 is pointless without swapping out the awful sticks for Xbox one sticks

Sony still can't make a good controller. Its a shame

I have no problems at all with the DS4, seems to me that people are just nitpicking. I won't say it's better than the DS3 but it's certainly not worse either, and I much prefer either of them over any Xbox controller.

Yeah, ds4 is fine for me. Not sure what the problem is. There's no steering sensitivity setting though. Only one for aim. Kind of weird with all the settings you do have. But I'm not bothered by the steering. It strikes a good balance between feeling a bit heavy, like a car, but twitchy enough for high speed antics.

After reading all the complaints, FPV seems rushed just for the purposes of selling the same game with an option to make the experience somewhat more immersing visually than by adding a different number of new things. FPV doesn't really address the issue of the lacking replay value.

DS4 is my favorite controller of all time.

Steering seems fine but I can't aim properly for my life. It's always one thing or another it seems.

After playing it for days I can tell you it definitely doesn't feel rushed. I love the physicality, movement is fluid and believable. It doesn't feel like a twitch shooter, because isn't a twitch shooter.

Of course the game isn't designed with it in mind, you can definitely see and feel that it was added in. But it's like it was always there.

Sorry for busting in this thread with my own question, but does anyone elses car feel like it wants to veer off to the left or right whilst driving in first person on the PS4? Maybe I'm being paranoid, just can't seem to keep my car going in a straight line without it wanting to go it's own way, no matter how straight I keep the wheel.

I heartily disagree that the PS3 and PS4 controllers are the best.

Can someone explain to me why my PS3 controller looks more like this...

and my PS1 controller still looks like this:

playstation-controller.jpeg

You won't find a smashed PS1 controller on Google Images, they really were the Nokia 3310 of the gaming world ;)

The giveaway? It's ever since the thumbsticks came into play. Us gamers just weren't ready for them! :panic:

Nooooooooooooooooooo! Not the Massacro! The one car I've mastered they change, f*cks sake R*

Also I only drove it for about 5-10 minutes. But still was noticeable something changed. I didn't get to test drifting with it also.

As someone who played GTAIV, TBoGT, TLaD and GTAV all with the hood cam - I can tell you FPView may not be rushed but it sure ain't perfect either :/

Only problem I ever had with a ps3 controller is accidentally getting it all sticky with syrup(don't ask), then taking it apart to clean it and losing a spring for the trigger. And I'm not exactly easy on controllers, I've thrown them at the wall a few times when games got me really frustrated.

It's the deadzone in the middle of the stick. You move the stick a little and nothing happens at all, a little more and your car suddenly steers violently. You just kind of have to adjust.

So true!!!! I completely agree. Even at max setting its SO slow to pan left and right. So annoying when you dont want a nice car banged up by stupid NPC cars!!

I had to change the thumbsticks on my DS4 to make driving slightly better onPS4 - still not as good as PS3, for obvious reasons.
