This is from the latest R* post:

now i know that i can get a pic from the ground level (what?) by parking the car or some platform or whatever (like in my sig), but how do you take a pic like this?

That probably wasn't taken by a regular player. It was most likely by someone at Rockstar using God Mode in it's oldest sense, where you were just a camera floating around and could go anywhere you like.

Edit: Actually, I take that back. Here's a link to another by the same guy...

All I could suggest is ask him. Someone already did and his response was "Stickibomb is my best friend :D"

Yeah, I updated my response. I didn't know you could use the sticky bomb to get pictures like that - I've only ever known how to use it to get selfies...

Im pretty sure he has used the sticky bomb thing but hes placed it on the ground behind the car and positioned the camera round like that. I've managed to do it on PS3, haven't tried it on PS4 yet if it works.

So wait what do you do? Throw the sticky bomb and it acts as a camera?

You select sticky bombs, get your phone out, hold L2 to aim your sticky bomb, and then open the camera. You should be in the same view as my photo above and you can reposition the camera around yourself.

Isn't it just a normal ps4 screenshot with the share button?

Nah, it's on the social club so it was taken with the phone.

This sounds interesting. I've only ever know about holding it whilst taking the photo. Can you explain how you did this?

I managed to do this last night..

Set yourself to 3rd person, furthest camera

Select sticky Bombs and hold RT (or what ever it is on PS4)

angle the camera how you want the picture

Bring up the camera - re adjust if needed

Release RT (player places sticky on floor, this allows you to hide from shot)

hit A (or what ever it is to take photo)

Takes a bit of practice, but thats basically it..

Is it one of those where you have to take the photo quickly after placing the sticky?

inb4 DumbassLive

inb4 Rockstar sees this (the method)

inb4 "fixed a snapmatic exploit..." blah blah blah

No, seriously, this is the only good way to get low angled shots. I'm yet to try it on PS4. Did it several times on PS3

Kind of, as soon as your player drops, take the shot.. unless of course you want to be in it.. in which case, no need to even place the sticky.

Right okay - thanks. That makes sense. I'll have a play with that tonight. Wanna try and catch an explosion behind the spokes of my bike :D

Yeah thats spot on. It might take some time to get him to bend down. I had to do it by placing the bomb on the side of the car, he bends down on one knee to do it. He otherwise just drops the bomb on the floor lol.

So for my picture as an example, my character is hiding behind the bush I think placing the bomb on the rear of the car :)

edit: woops wrong button lol

I think the key is to get the angle right before you go into snapmatic as you can't move your guy around when in camera mode. For example, in this pic, I found it best to stand by the far side front door of the vehicle, and angle the 3rd person view camera around the car first, then I held R2 (PS4) and went into my snapmatic app. The angle was just as I left it, so I released R2 to drop down out of sight (to place the sticky on the ground) and snapped away!

Pretty cool effect. I'm gonna have to play around with this to figure out the best angles. :)

If only R* would add the option to go prone, it would definitely change the snap game for the greater.

Just tested it out for myself real quick.

This is gonna be good. For anyone who, like me, was stuck for a second; Move the camera. That was the mind blowing moment for me, when I swept the camera onto the ground.

Oh wow - a games developer! We've got tons of questions about the development that goes on at Rockstar. Are you able to answer them?

They are too busy putting they're focus on patching half the good sh*t like harmless selfie glitches to focus on things that really matter that they keep delaying. And another thing is if they can make a first person view, there is absolutely NO excuse why they couldn't allow you to go prone.

Well, I can see from the data files that we have had access to that the data is transported in object form, but is it stored in a relational database and then reconstituted at runtime, or are the objects serialized and stored as binary data in BLOB fields? I can see pros and cons with both approaches. So which one is it and why is it done that way?

Also, I know what the common and popular choice would be but is it written in a procedural style or a more object oriented approach? Again, swings and roundabouts so I'd love to know.

Dear God. I owe you guys hugely. Every other time I've asked I've been met with snide remarks or cryptic clues. This is the first time people have been helpful about it.
