FATMANYOU2
GTASeriesVideos released a video comparing GTA V across all of its platforms from 7th gen to 8th gen. Although this can be changed with TV settings, I prefer the Xbox One since it has a really nice touch on color, and contrast. Also the PlayStation 4 has a noticeable touch on vegetation over the Xbox One. On the other hand the Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 versions seem pretty much the same to me. Leave your thoughts, and please don't make blind arguments saying "OMG, [insert Preferred Console] is f*cking better than the [insert Opposing Console]!" Discuss it like grown, and mature humans. Excellent comparison! Next gen no doubt looks way better and I do have to agree that the Xbox One does look more colorful.
nath22
Personally, I'd take the "washed out" PS4 version. I've seen it and it looks decent irl - I haven't seen an X1 version played however but if it's to go by all the comments and video I don't want my game to look like a one clip edit of a Call of Duty 4 triple headshot on Showdown from 2008. Don't read anything into colours on either consoles, the brightness has been nuked on both consoles in that video for some reason and it doesn't look like that on either of them. There are better videos showing them both, Xbox has slightly better contrast and framerate, PS4 plants etc.

I've only seen the PS4 version but I'm not sure if my friend changed his settings. ^^
Vercetti Thug
Really? This isn't a water foam topic, yet you have to whine in here too? ''GRAPHICS COMPARISON''. Did he compare graphics? Yes. Did your post contribute? No. Did mine? No. hmmmmm...................I know I responded to this last night and now it's gone. So mods can delete posts whenever they want? At least have the balls to say why.
vengeancehawk
The only differences I've seen so far is much better online characters and more grass. In the video, scenes in the city are pretty much the same as last gen.
Mcspanky37
GTASeriesVideos released a video comparing GTA V across all of its platforms from 7th gen to 8th gen. The Xbox One (and Xbox 360 titles) have something called crushed blacks, which is considered a big detriment to video quality. Basically, the Xbox version darkens the image, causing there to be lost detail and a decrease of overall image contrast. On an actual television, the PS4 looks perfect while the the Xbox One version will be missing detail and contrast. So basically everyone here saying they prefer the Xbox One's "touch on color and contrast" is basically saying they prefer an image with murdered IQ, which is quite a declaration of their literal blind fanboyism. In any cross-console comparison between a Playstation console and Xbox console, it's the exact same thing - the Playstation produces a "real image" while the Xbox version always produced a darker version with crushed contrast. All this does is make the Xbox version appear more saturated in comparison to the PS4 image, and makes the Playstation image seem "washed out" when really the Playstation's image is actually what it's supposed to look like. The Xbox version in comparison will have lost detail in any dark spots of the images and due to this, a lower contrast than the Playstation version. Here's a nice big thread validating what I'm saying. Basically if you want to see the game how Rockstar intended for it to be seen, you have to play it on the PS4. Blame Microsoft - they implemented the filter just to trick people uneducated on how image quality works and to create an image that's more appealing to the eye in comparison to the source material - by trying to make Xbox One's colors seem magically more "vibrant", as if that's a desirable trait in picture quality (it isn't). If you want a darker color balance or more saturation in your image, that's something that should be set on your TV and not in the game. You don't want the game doing that for you. Vercetti Thug
In the opening of the video, the PS3 and 360 version shows much more details on Michael's face. Why is the older gens showing more detail then the new ones?

Why is the older gens showing more detail then the new ones? The lighting is different. On new gen shadows are actually rendering on his face and light is bouncing off of the white on his shirt. Relative007
@McSpanky As was pointed out on the second page of the thread you linked, the PS3/PS4 and PC Versions have a much similar overall colour than the Xbox Versions of games. The darker image colour (crushing blacks) is seen in almost every comparison between 360/Xbone and PS3/PS4 or PC I have seen. I guess people get used to what they see in front of them. 05-BROCKY-05
The xbone and PS4 vids are badly converted for the video, theres almost seems to be NO AA in the next gen vids and in the old gen the lines appear a lot smoother which is very much incorrect, i dont have jaggies on ps4.
