What's wrong with criticising a game that is very deserving of criticism?

It's not like anybody is going off-topic to do so.

This game is so hard to get back into, there's not much to do with the terrible handling physics and subpar customization. It just isn't that good. Man, i hope they get it right for the next game.

Have they gone for the 'Most Wanted' driving style cause after Underground 2 that killed it for me sadly.

I don't know what the difference between the two is like for you. They're not that different. Most Wanted (2005) feels a bit more "grippy" than UG2 but the actual problem with the handling of cars as I see it is in the delayed controls. It feels like they added input lag on purpose or the animations are sluggish. On top of that there is an unbelievable amount of microstutter present in this game, across all platforms. It's a lot like lag but you feel it even if you play the game at 100+ frames per second. So there are small pockets of lag on top of the already laggy controls. It's quite bad. They mitigated it somewhat with Carbon but the EAGL engine was sh*t for a while ever since Most Wanted.

As a contrast, the Underground games run buttery smooth. Not sure what they did to f*ck it up but at least none of these games are as bad as Undercover. That game is the worst in the series. Need For Speed 2015 is OK for what it is. The handling is unlike any Black Box NFS game you've played. It kinda feels like you're drifting all the time. It's kinda bad depending on what you're used to in racing games. I recommend that you play NFS: Hot Pursuit (2010) first. That one has a similar handling model but it is more enjoyable I think compared to the newer games.

I'm going to play advocate here if only for the fact this NFS more than any other I've found most playable by way of handling. It's horses for courses and the arcadeiness suits me. Granted there is nuance to the handling, but the fact I can find a car and set up to basically complete the game and hoon around with others without putting stupid hours into the game (leaving out the lack of a game for the sake of this discussion). In any case if there is to be any kind of handling in the next game it can't be so bloody anal or precise that the nature of the game is lost. Yes a realistic setup should be possible but so should arcade physics for casual dicking around imo :)

Now for something new

Hondas are amazing.

And oh boy, it's been ages since I decided to have a bit of a photoshoot in this game.

Holy... I think I need to pick one up during a discount...

Does the driving physic still work like previous NFS though? NFS tend to be too-drifty, I feel.

It's more of that drifty feel that most of the modern NFS's have, but you can easily adjust that in the settings to reduce the excessiveness of it.

Definitely worth a cop for at least a one time story play through. Not the best story mind you, but definitely entertaining (and cheesy) 'til the end.

I definitely won't look into the story. I'm looking for the driving experience and the car customisation. *And those Hotrods up there. Wew

I tried NFS Rivals and didn't really like it. The cops' reaction was split second and able to break and accelerate their cars immediately upon my sudden turn-around. lmao. And then I moved to The Crew and it was crazy grindy and items were expensive..

Photo mode and car customization are great, driving is eh and story is meh but at least it's not that stereotypical street racer cringe story.

the dialogues between the antagonists are actually pretty cringy tbh

Oh yeah the dialogue is pretty bad but I meant the overall story while bad didn't make me cringe as bad as previous titles. Must just be me but the "street racer" stereotype has always made me gag.

I've decided to try and finish the damn story after all this time (before the next NFS comes out), so I'll have different cars to take pics of of finally :catloaf:

Mister Pink

Just re-installed on Xbox One and it seems everything is soft. Does anyone else have this issue? It can't be that I had different memories of the graphics was playing it earlier in the year. It looks visibly worse. Everything looks softer and more blurry. I mean everything in the game world, not the UI and menus. It's mostly to do with reflections in the car seemingly not loading right.

Any suggestions/ideas apart from an uninstall/reinstall?

Example: The car's front right panel looks fine but the car's right door looks off and just soft all over in general. Is it just me? Bad server connection perhaps?

I certainly see what you're talking about, and it does not look normal.

Using a monitor? Different HDMI port/television than last time you played?

It's hard to judge with consoles because all the options are watered down, that and I have no experience with an Xbox One.
