Honestly, the grip gameplay actually looks good. Thank God.

 

Drift races still look stupid and annoying, though.

 

But even if I'm not buying the game, I'm glad that I've finally seen the grip option in action and that it actually seems decent.

I dont know about the drifting. Looks a bit weird. (the physics I mean)

Actually all of the drift gameplays I saw from numerous YT Motorsport Gamers were not that good. I know it takes some time to get used to it, but it seemed impossible to chain drifts. Also most of the time the turns when drifting were way too sharp. I hope they will adjust it a bit upon release.

Doesn't look bad but I wouldn't be surprised to see one having a large advantage over the other in multiplayer races..

Makes you wonder how large the map really is.. I mean from what we've seen, it's only a city, but I hope there's a bunch of winding roads in the distance.

What's wrong with me? You realise I never once said I'm for the always Online crap, I was just defending the social stuff which that guy said ruined the game for him when it obviously wouldn't if he had a brain cell.

You'll have a career in foreign relations and diplomacy.

 

It's not like it ruined the game for me but chances of getting old-school-like street racing game are close to 0 now. Obviously this NFS may be the best since Carbon but no match to Underground/Midnight Club games (or even Carbon/SRS) for sure.

Honestly, at this point (after seeing those gameplay videos) I'll be alright with that. Don't think anything would match U2, the game being similar to Carbon is enough for me.

Physics look like absolute sh*t. Not to mention they couldn't even make the Mustang sound like a Mustang or even ANY car sound right ffs and the atmosphere is dead. This is NOTHING like Underground or even Carbon.

Am I the only one concerned by those ghosttown streets? I know it's not supposed to be filled with cars due to the time and to facilitate the driving but...

Damn, it feels way too empty.

No, I'm not hating over the game because of this. I'm mostly satisfied and surprised with it, unlike many on the Internet.

It's still in alpha. Sounds and traffic are certainly not final, as they require optimization. GTA-Wise Guy said the later build they got to watch a bit of looked alot better, so take from that what you will.

I'm really liking the car list and modifications. I was surprised at the mod options for the 180SX. I've never seen facelift modifications in a game. And I'm glad there's the option to mess around with the tuning options. It all seems pretty promising. Can't wait for the full game to release. ^_^

Yea. The only things that bother me rn are the drift physics and that the controlls seem to be a bit too responsive even for an arcade racer.

But I think those are things that can easily be adjusted till release.

I hear alot of complains about the physics so there is a chance that they might change it.

Agreed. The car physics seem a bit off. The game seems to immediately put you into a drift, which can be pretty annoying. Usually, when drifting cars, going into a drift is expected, but the game seems to throw players into the middle of a drift the second they wish to drift, and cars tuned for grip seem to be as responsive and grippy as F1 cars, if not more. I'm not saying it's all bad since some older arcade racing games were like that, and it does have a bit of nostalgic feel, at least to me, but having the physics change to be a bit more realistic wouldn't be too bad.

I'm getting the nostalgia feeling too, and it's just from random trailers and small bits of gameplay. I wonder what he full game will be like in this sense!

I never played Rivals so could anyone give a rough estimate to how big it's map was to Fair Haven in MS"12 or Carbon?

I don't understand how big it actually is due to not playing Rivals.

Comparing two different maps by size is pretty stupid if you ask me. Big maps can feel very small and vice versa. Great examples being GTA SA and GTA V.
