I'm currently working on a concept thread in that new fangled section and I'm on a mobile. The thread is fairly extensive and at least twice now I've gotten halfway through then go add some pics from google or just my app dictionary/thesaurus only to have my progress erased.

All I'm asking is to have the option to be able to save a thread and come back to add to it later much like the pm option.

If this was a previous feature could I get an explanation as to why it was taken away?

Thanks for your time.

The editor interface here is a rich text editor. Just make your topic in Word or some other similar program where you can work on it and save it at your leisure and then when you're ready to post it just copy and paste it over.

Might be a big difficult if you're on mobile but the mobile version of the site isn't designed operate with the same functionality of the web version.

Exactly. Perhaps on a mobile Pastebin could be the answer.

Well that's unfortunate.

Just out of curiosity why is this possible with personal messages?

I can't see a save feature when composing a PM. What are you talking about?

Just copy your progress every time you leave the tab. If the page reloads then all you have to do is paste.

For longer posts you could use some sort of text editor app. You've probably got a little default notepad on your phone that'd be perfect.

When making a new pm you have the option to save it making it a draft. After which you can come back to said draft at a later date and send it or simply add more to it.

I was just wondering if that feature could be implemented for topics but apparently it cannot be.

Uhh, you're using the desktop site on your phone?

In which case - and I genuinely can't believe this hadn't crossed your mind - compose a new PM, type up your topic, save it, then when you're finished you can paste it from your drafts.

Copy and paste is a challenge in and of itself from my phone(Nokia Lumia). And I'm on the mobile version of the site not desktop. But thanks for the help. I'll try that. Also what may seem blatantly obvious to you, Capitan Computer, isn't as such with me. If I came across as an argumentative ass I apologize. Have a great day.

I would rather have the notepad feature make a return.

If you have a long drawn out post that may or may not include pictures, it would be better to use either a desktop or a laptop PC instead of a mobile device for the reason Ryan stated above. It just makes more sense to use a PC-either laptop or desktop for this purpose. Just a heads up. :)
