San Andreas: PS2 Features To PC

Inadequate

Recommended Posts

The window texture inside the Jefferson motel gets corrupted because its texture name on PS2 is different on PC.

01dgyHv.png

PC name is ah_skylight and PS2 name is skylightkb

The texture is inside the imy_motel2.txd file

I named the window texture file with the name that is used on the PC and it worked but it was buggy. See the comparison:

yE5mxJX.png

I tried to fix it but that was the best I could:

7isJdDm.png

it's still different compared to the PS2, on PC the texture is duplicated in the window. Does anyone know any solution for this? I tried to cut the texture in half, but the result is not symmetrical.

Edit: A modder told me that I need to edit the .dff file but I don't know how to do that. Can anyone do it? The .dff file is imy_motel_int.dff

The only thing missing in this pack is the model of the tables inside the Architectural Espionage mission building. In the PS2 version the tables are white and there is a computer. In the PC version the tables are brown and there is no computer. The npcs who are sitting at the table are perform the animation of typing on the keyboard, in both versions, so in the PC version it doesn't make sense as they no longer have a computer on the table. The PC version desk .dff file name is MED_OFFICE4_DESK_2.dff and the .txd file name is CJ_OFFICE.txd . Can anyone convert the desk model from the PS2 version to the PC version?

oAztUbw.png

Edit: I noticed that the desks on the first floor of the building (officedesk2.dff) are the same computer desks used upstairs (MED_OFFICE4_DESK_2.dff) in the PS2 version. I extracted officedesk2.dff, renamed it to MED_OFFICE4_DESK_2.dff and it worked! However this is still not the ideal solution, the table still contains its original collision so if you try to jump on top of it you won't be able to because the table of the PC version is higher than the computer table. In the PS2 version you can jump on the table because the table has low height and has the correct collision for it. It is also notable that the distribution of tables in the room in the PS2 and PC versions are different from each other. Can anyone fix this or correctly convert MED_OFFICE4_DESK_2.dff from PS2 version to PC version? But luckily with this workaround now the npcs will have a keyboard to type and were not typing in nothing. 😛

Here's the download of this workaround in case anyone wants to use: Download (updated)

Here's a video showing the distribution of tables on the PS2 version (sorry for the sh*t quality)

Edit2: ZAZ got a better result by changing furnitur.dat so it's now possible to jump over the tables!!! However the distribution of tables remains the same , it is different from the distribution of tables like the PS2 version. I updated the download with his version.

Really nice thing. Since PS2 model is a lot better should be integrated to the next update. Well, if there will be any lol.

Looks like the txd file for that specific place is being overrided by other txd making both to not appear or you missed it at all, since in those screenshots is just untextured.

Is there any way to quickly get info which txd causes it?

There's one thing I miss so much; On the PS2 version it had songs playing in the clothing stores, on the PC version it doesn't have that, I remember it played a song that I never found in the game files, did they remove any music on the PC version?

@Inadequate will there be any updates?

Yes, is planned. I've been off from gta modding for a time, I've been busy with real life and I've lost motivation from time to time.

https://www.mixmods.com.br/2017/11/SkyUI.html

I recomend you to download it from here. Mixmods is in my opinion the best page of GTA mods.

Hello there! I'd been playing GTA San Andreas for quite some time. Thank god I'd seen this thread because I wanted to feel that 2000's nostalgia when playing the game and I wanted to experience the game the way it looked like back in 2004. Too bad I never had the chance to try the Steam version then downgrade it.

Here's me playing the game:

Instead of 13AG's Widescreen Fix, use SkyUI 1.2 not 1.3 tho. Includes menu and PS2-like HUD
great success

Can anyone assist me, because I'm a little bit confused. I've downloaded skygfx and using the recommended PS2 vehicle reflection fix, but here I see there is another larger pack of PS2 vehicles but with a bit older date. Which one should I use and what's the difference (I understand one is straight PS2 cars and the other modified PC cars to use the reflection pipeline)? Also the Hero says "no car parts or cut scene cars" what exactly does that mean and does it affect this pack as well?

I recommend using the PS2 vehicles pack provided in this index because the ones made by The Hero do not include PS2 tuning part models and cutscene variants of the vehicles. This one does, though, and both packs are straight PS2-to-PC conversions overall.:)

Can anyone transplant the PS2 C.R.A.S.H Cutscene Car to PC?

If you observe carefully, you can find that PS2 C.R.A.S.H Cutscene Car is different from PC, Because PC C.R.A.S.H Cutscene Car is from beta.

I think that is already included in the "Beta Leftovers fix"
