Spoiler

It seems that PS2 Feels SA Edition is causing black screen during the initial cutscene. (After CJ gets put into a police car by Tenpenny and scene transitions)

If you skip the cutscene, the game works fine, letting me control CJ and get on the bike, but watching the cutscene always ends in black screen unless I remove PS2 Feels SA Edition.

Anyone have info regarding this?

**Edit: On top of this, PS2 Feels SA Edition screws up loading in assets. pop-ins happen randomly at extremely close range. When the game first allows you to save, (had to skip the initial cutscene like I mentioned above), when you look around, grovestreet houses/bridge are popping in/out like crazy. This also solves itself once I remove the mod. Unless I royally screwed up the install, I think there are fundamental issues with the mod. I don't recommend it.

If is listed on the OP then it works. Everything works fine here including the PS2 textures and loaded with modloader so the game is heavier to load, not just size. And it just works. It looks you have streaming problems with your game and the textures pack. No idea how you are loding them as well.

I installed everything as instructed and haven't installed anything else.

1. Install 3 prerequisites
2. Install the mods with modloader
3. Swapped out exe per Skygfx's instruction.

Have you tried watching the intro cutscene to the end with above configuration?

You had black screen in the intro? Well let me help you with the installation. So first you gotta download the mods that you want to use from this page. Then you copy paste everything that is not in an image folder for example "to gta3.img", into the game directory. After that, you put everything else that is inside the image folder into modloader. Just in case, install Open Limit Adjuster to prevent crashes. Last thing, delete the "d3d8.dll" file cuz it doesn't work correctly

Yep I have the same problem with this mod so I just end up not using it anymore. I think the mod itself is just broken, people see the first part of the cutscene render then skip it thinking everything is working fine when in reality it's not. Luckily it's not a big deal to have this mod missing as the game still has most of the ps2 features with all of the other mods.

On the PS2, police cruisers had extra lights on it. This wasnt addressed in the mod. Do you still have plans for it?

I have noticed that the basketball and weights in the gym change color when CJ interacts with them.
Is it a model error or is there a solution?
I also noticed that the necklaces partially lose their shine in the cutscenes.
Another thing I noticed is that blood trails and PS2 shadows are slightly raised off the ground, although this is maybe related to skygfx.

Then add those yourself. The one posted here is PC map with a lot of edits and tweaks to emulate the PS2 map.

That version of the PS2 map is outdated compared to the one posted in this thread. I've been updating a few things over the years to it.

Maybe I'm missing something, or there's something I don't know yet, but I'm fairly certain " PS2 Textures " are causing my game to crash - exit to desktop. PS2 Textures are extracted to ' modloader ' folder, in the folder of their own. Game would simply exit after some time, or after something has been triggered in the meantime while playing. I would drive from Ganton to Doherty and after respraying in the Downtown/Doherty garage, game would simply exit soon after that - it's a matter of seconds basically. I've tested this dozen of times, literally. As soon as I've deleted PS2 Textures from the modloader folder, game resumed without crashing. Any info or advice? Thanks!

Btw, having even only PS2 Textures installed, button prompts get messed up, regardless of Mission Script version or Ginput.

Here's the last "few" lines from Modloader Crash Dump, I suspect there indeed might be something wrong with PS2 Textures, so if someone's got time to check it out it'd be much appreciated.

Everything from PS2 textures works just fine here, and I did nothing special. Just drop them on modloader and is done. If are that buggy for you just remove them.

For whatever reason, game simply crashes/exits to desktop after some time spent roaming around with PS2 Textures added properly inside the Modloader. The same thing happens both on PC and laptop. I don't have that many mods, except the essentials like Cleo, Silentpatch & Asiloader, SkyGfx, p2dfx and beside those there are only some of these mods from here that bring PS2 features to PC.

In any case, same crash happens whether PS2 Textures are installed as the sole mod or in combination with others. I'm a bit of a fanatic when it comes to SA since I want to have almost authentic PS2 atmosphere and textures are huge chunk of it. I guess I'll have to get used to not having them, lol. Thanks for your reply @gts.!

You need OLA installed as well. The PS2 textures itself hits the txd limit supported by the original game, so that limit needs to be patched through.

EDIT:

I'll need to clarify that on the next update lol.

@Inadequate Agh, I forgot to mention, I indeed have the Open Limit Adjuster as well.. thanks for the suggestion though. Nevertheless, it's a good idea to mention that with your next update, for us a bit less knowledgeable.

Edit: If someone knows what exact PS2 texture is used for "Shady Industries" warehouse billboard in Dillimore, I'd be grateful.

the original texture from the pc version or the same used for the solarin industries in dillimore is named "sw_fact01"so then shady industries should be the same one in the ps2 textures mod

Edit: If someone knows what exact PS2 texture is used for "Shady Industries" warehouse billboard in Dillimore, I'd be grateful.

i have the file if you want it..
