Also, dune's shadow is broken. PS2 model doesn't fix it.

Report it to The Hero since he's the one who converted the PS2 vehicles.

I think it might be like this on the PS2 too, but I'm not sure.

PS2 uses static shadows, not stencil. Is the stencil ones that doesn't work on PC with the PS2 model, right?

Ah yeah, right. Actually, they do work, but there's one extra polygon in the shadow that ruins it.

Just download RW-Analyze, open the dff and change the texturename(s) to the right one(s) (granted texture is the same, otherwise it'll map it wrong on the model anyway and requires the PS2 texture).

I'm in Z-modeler, what should I do?

Mind if we add _AG's SkyUI to this list?

+1. It's bringing a PS2 feature over and it works really well, it deserves to be added.

GaudinMorganne

Hello.
I was crazy about replaying San Andreas more than 10 years later.

I have installed all recommended mods on the first page and everything seems to work for the better.

But since everything is not perfect in this world I noticed a problem that seems to come from the mod "PS2 Textures / ps2 feel" :
If I increase the draw distance in setup, I have a black screen and the game freezes during the cutscene of the beginning (after CJ gets in the car's c.r.a.s.h)

Do you have a solution to this?
Or I'm wrong and I don't have to touch the graphical option for mods work properly?

Thank you in advance.

@ernestin1For the PS2 models to work properly you need sky-gfx as far as i know hence the bright model issue you have on the first picture.

afaik the models only work with the ps2-style pipeline. i never figured out the exactly problem but basically ambient light is wrong. and ambient light is handled differently in the PS2 building pipe.

People, how can you expect the PS2 stuff to work with PC configuration by default? That's why this thread exist, is supposed to be used with the PS2 configuration from skygfx. Anything else from untextured stuff, as broken lightnining, etc. Isn't fault from the models, I think is pretty obvious.

So I converted the las2jmscum12.dff from PS2 to PC. https://www.dropbox.com/s/h3zy6ti5qor6lnd/las2jmscum12.dff?dl=0 Here's the comparison:

Seems nice, but I can't get it to work (even with Skygfx building pipe set to PS2). The wall with the girl seems untextured. Is it just me? Maybe because I don't use PS2 map or textures?

las2jmscum12 is untextured beacuse you're not using PS2 Textures. Here's the texture https://www.dropbox.com/s/jq2g2px2d6zvjwe/lasground_las2.txd?dl=0

Thanks man! Other modders would be cursing me right now. I try to keep the best from each console, thus not replacing PC's textures with PS2's ones.

Now, I'm working on converting unused Pay 'n' Spray in LV from the PS2 Platinum/Greatest Hits version which is better than the PC one in every aspect.

Just googled it, I didn't know that version existed 😲! I should probably watch more @Vadim M.'s videos.

Rockstar put more effort on fixing this Pay 'n' Spray than on making the PC port.

Lol true. Years of modding because of this.

@kebi not to take credit from you but the mod from afterburner ''2dfx & prelight additions'' fixed that SF chapel (the normal model is still mixed up with the lod, i Fixed this in the Z pc map + fixes mod, good job on restoring that graffiti though

@Inadequate sorry, I though that the ps2 models would work with any skygfx, and not specifically from the ps2 configuration

I'm checking the PS2 models because I'll update the thread, and guess what? The vending machine is fine here:

So, probably you have a f*ckton of mods as textures, whatever, breaking it. Make a note that before complain about something, make sure is from the mod itself and not by any other thing.

Probably that veding machine has broken/wrong alpha channel when using the PC texture, instead of PS2 texture. Have even anyone checked the PC texture of it before?

Oh shoot! You're right, sorry. But give me a hint so this won't happen again. How can I see (and change) what textures a model needs?

P.S. Indeed I have a ton of mods installed. Don't tell me you're satisfied with the PS2 map missing things and the PS2 textures having low resolution (although some PC textures are badly compressed).

You could use MEd.

I think it's not possible to change DFFs with MEd but I'll try. Here's a token of my appreciation :

Right again gts. Mr Right! The PC version has no alpha on CJ_FRAME_Glass.
