If you are taking care about quality then you will cry with the PS2 textures. So, no, don't use them.

Depends on what you call quality, due to pc versions inadequate use of dxt 3 compression on alpha textures with gradients they often times look several times worse then their PS2 counterparts (banding). Apart from that PC looks better in most cases.

That building on The Strip changing colours, depending on the angle of view, is not fixed. Any fix?

It's fixed already.

I put the map into modloader and the bug was still there. Does anyone know the name of that model so I can troubleshoot?

I use modloader btw.

LOL. That isn't map issue but model issue. And fixed ages ago as well. Check the PS2 models download. And since it includes a bunch of PS2 dffs for interiors, you probably will need OLA installed.

Oh, I forgot to include the models, you're right. I got confused because the PS2 map included some models too. Thanks!

Sure, but they broken anyway. In night the texture become all black. I guess is because it messing the night vertex or something.

Honestly that PS2 models pack is kinda broken anyways, someone should remake it but only have the improved models. A few comments up I talked about how a lot of the models end up textureless or otherwise broken with the pack installed.

What's broken? I haven't noticed anything broken with them. Probably you have a clash of mods right there. Also, textures missing? That's easy to fix.

And what's broken? Also what improved models? If everything is from PS2 lol. Also, indeed I've noticed some untextured models into the Caligula's Casino power generator room... but just those models so far. But since I'm busy with other stuff I don't have time yet to fix it. Probably is just the texture name being different between PS2 and PC, not a game breaking issue though.

Nope, it was the only model mod I had installed, and believe me I *really* checked and made sure it came from this. Just a few oddities here and there like that, nothing too bad.

That's exactly the problem, there could be more untextured models.

Basically, what I'm saying is I'm a dumbsh*t paranoid idiot asshole with OCD that wants you to make sure the pack is perfect before it is released, or else I will be MILDLY ANNOYED.

I've written an interior teleport script a few months ago, I tested every single interior from the game and not problem with anything untextured or something. Just the Caligula's Casino power generator room machines that can be easily fixed. So, don't kill yourself lol.

An important thing is that you can find untextured stuff but not by the mod, because can be untextured on both platforms. Also, would be nice if you find more untextured models to report them here.

Also question is. Doesn't this fix most of the texture bugs if not all? (Ofc. only with PC models, PS2 models sometimes differ from required textures)

(btw. SA xbox seems at least to my eye have least/no missing textures, same goes for III xbox and VC xbox)

It's not like untextured stuff. More like broken prelight or something. It's fine on daylight. But on night (22.00 in game) the texture become all black.

It's happened to police_nb2.dff, pizza, and burger texture

How come those generators in Caligula's Casino are untextured? Just curious. In my case they were white in the morning. I'm using modloader btw.

White means missing texture.

Yeah, but why is it missing? Modloader replaces existing files, it doesn't delete the ones existing. I didn't tamper with my gta3.img.

The name for the textures in the dff probably doesn't match. Can be fixed if you know the correct texture name in its respective txd file.

Oh, that makes sense. I'll try with MEd.

Here's the information I got :

  1. The model is the mafcasgenstuff.dff
  2. It uses the texture mafcasgenstuff.txd
  3. The texture of the generators is called ab_airconunit

I found out cj_candyvendor.dff is also broken from the PS2 models.

Just download RW-Analyze, open the dff and change the texturename(s) to the right one(s) (granted texture is the same, otherwise it'll map it wrong on the model anyway and requires the PS2 texture).

Ooof, I'm not used to this... I was only aware of Z-modeler, not this thing. Anyways, I'm the least experienced person to do this, so I'll wait 'til someone else fixes it.

What's broken exactly? Untextured? A picture would be good.

If I remember correctly, the metal texture of the machine appears where the "snacks" textures should be.

Right. I forgot to include the screenshot. This vending machine can be found inside the 24-7 in little mexico for example.
