Really? Well I may check it out later then, but I'm sure older mods don't support it.

Yep, also Silent loves the compact exe, all of his mods supports first the compact than the hoodlum one. :p

Perfect, test all of your mods one by one, and I recommend you install modloader to avoid touch important game files (if you don't have it yet) and google gta_sa.exe compact.

EDIT:

If you find the issue, post here what is it, please.

EDIT 2:

Probably Windows 8.1 have the issue with your game, I use Windows 7.

Now is working.
I really don't know what made all cars disappear.
Another thing, I already use the ps2 textures.

UPDATE:

PS2 car reflections final (updated) added to the main post.

Changes:

  • Wheels should no longer have a specular map. Replaced pipeline of all car atomics having a name containing "wheel" with the default pipeline.

I found another bug.

This bug only appears in this cutscene but then disappears.

Well, some people still having this bug or black cutscene cars, probably Az will fix it, while they will have to live with that.

EDIT:

Also, only is the cutscene tenpenny car.

The reflection chunks are still a bit weird to me. I will probably have to look and the mysterious Right to Render chunk of the PS2.

You will restore the objects that have on version of PS2 but not in the pc?

ex: columns close to the casinos in las venturas that disappeared.

EDIT:

If you are interested in doing so maybe I can do this. :)

EDIT 2:

I had already done it but I lost files.

EDIT 3:

I looked at my old PC and i found the files, I can post here?

Yes, I plan to convert the PS2 1:1 to PC. This will still take a while though. I have to debug and extend my conversion programs. Once they work the rest should be a piece of cake.

TekUltra in the first post you can find the PS2 map already converted with the lost objects + some fixes.

Screen of the Tenpenny cutscene police car in my game with last build of PS2 reflections:

I think, is working correctly.

But I'm gonna do my own. I already started this and it shouldn't take long as I don't do it by hand. Read the map files, convert them to PC and convert all DFFs and TXDs. This way I will have the original PS2 map on PC.

The Hero: Of course, I respect your work, it was just an little help to TekUltra, he wants the lost objects around the map from PS2. Also the work of the PS2 map from format c is very good too.

Isn't it just Los Santos and those missing LV props that are different in the PS2 map?

Los Santos (not all areas) Las Venturas (missing props) and parked cars around Red County.

Also, PS2 placement is a little different than PC, all x and y positions are lower/higher.

I found another bug.

wAR10mv.png?1

This bug only appears in this cutscene but then disappears.

This happens because the specular in the cutscene model is missing, the black cars bug happens when there are no textures/txd for the model

Don't know if anybody saw my last post about this but just in case I'll post it again because it relates to what The Hero just said in this quote. :santa:

These are the files that are only on the PS2 disc of the game. Loads of these are in bizarre formats but it may be of use to somebody like The Hero.

You can rule out SYSTEM.CNF and SLUS_209.46 as these are used as a sort of PS2 "exe"

The system folder also has a lot of files that reference PS2 HW like IOPAudio. I can only assume those are equivalent of Windows .DLL and Linux .SO libraries.

Ooh, I wonder if some of them contain stuff about the PS2's menu layout etc.

That would be awesome to see recreated in the PC version.

Ok, let me explain:

the .nm files (mine are called .pm) are code overlays somehow, no idea how they work exactly. The SLUS/SLES is the executable, the .irx files in the system directory are modules for the IO processor.

Aw, so none of them are helpful? That's a shame.

But thanks for explaining this. :santa:

The only things possibly related I could found are

http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=7295

http://psx-scene.com/forums/f325/ps3-gta-san-andreas-ps2-classic-modding-easy-tutorial-112440/index7.html

Besides (thanks to some not-so-legal-torrents folder lists) I could guess that .nm extension was used in SLUS-20946, whilst .pm extension in SLES-52541
