i have SkyGFX on my gta folder but it just seems to glitch out for some reason i put the dff files in the gta interiors where they were supposed to go

The waterfall here is frozen?

Tn6Ned5.png

Which skygfx.ini are you using 1, 2, 3 or a custom one?

In skygfx.ini, worldPipe is set on 0, 1, 2 or -1? If it's -1, that's the reason.

SkyGfx is in your gta folder, which one? directory? modloader? scripts?

the waterfall isnt frozen on my game, my skygfx is in my directory i just dragged and dropped it there like it was in the rar file i basically have the files: skygfx.ini, skygfx 1, skygfx 2 and skygfx 3

Strange, if the bubbles and security monitors don't work, then the waterfall should be froze as well.

Remove SkyGfx and check again the waterfall, if the waterfall is still not frozen, that means your game's not using the PS2 converted/fixed DFFs.

yeasterday i downloaded the 2.9 version of the skygfx files so i hope its because i was using an outdated version

but still i downloaded the dff´s from the links that were posted in the first page of this topic so the had to be the real ps2 dff´s

They are, the DFF for the waterfall vegaswaterfall02.dff is also from the PS2 since the PC one is brighter. So if the bubbles and security monitors don't work, it should be the same for the waterfall.

You tried this?

Remove SkyGfx and check again the waterfall, if the waterfall is still not frozen, that means your game's not using the PS2 converted/fixed DFFs.

Hey guys i saw this bug near the downtown hospital in los santos, i know you have to use the file in the ps2 feels to fix it but im not using the ps2 textures for the roads and to fix it the roads around down town change from the pc raods to the ps2 one, i like the pc one bettter because their more detailed and im trying to do a balance of the ps2 feuteres and the pc features so my game can be the gta san andreas pc port that rockstar never made and i was wondering if there´s no way to fix this bug with out changing the texture the roads

Guys, I just came to a realization. *WHY THE HELL* are we using PS2 textures, when, with a few exceptions, most of them are completely inferior to the PC textures? I can understand a few of the billboards that were altered or whatever, or even some preferences for PS2 road textures( and maybe this is a placebo or the effect of altered .dffs or something but I noticed a lot of objects were more colorful on PS2), but most of the textures are just blatantly inferior, oftentimes 2x or even 4x smaller than the PC counterparts. For example, the very first .txd file in gta3.img alphabetically is 2notherbuildsfe.txd. The PC version one contains NINE textures that are higher res out of the total 13.

sorry for the repeated questions but please confirm..

1. does these

  • PS2 converted/fixed DFFs (broken on PC)
  • PS2 Ammu-Nation Interior
  • PS2 parked cars around the map

works fine with vanilla pc or is it for using with ps2 map/textures only..?

2. does PS2 parked cars around the map still introduce cracks on the map or is it fixed..?

3. someone please enlighten how to only add the missing things in venturas to pc vanilla please.. like checking & adding line by line in ipl is ok.. i don't want the glitched pay n spray..

here Inadequate & Tomasak stated only vegase.ide, vegase.ipl, and vegase_stream[sOMENUBMER].ipl are needed..

however here Inadequate stated the full vegas folder is needed from here..

please clarify..

and finally..

In the other side, I already made three cleo scripts for each fix by liamedwards12: Life's a Beach 4000 points, Black Project Alarm and Train Speed on the intro. And it seems they are working correct, so replace the SCM won't needed anymore. I will post them with the other updates in a few days onto the main post.

4. is the above scripts tested ok.. when will it be available for download..?

Well, I was hoping for a more informative answer because I plan on replacing the low res PS2 textures with the PC ones but still maintaining the ones that provide a "PS2 feel". iirc, the texture I have for the SF colored hippie sign is a custom made one to have color and be high res, not just the default PS2 one, and I don't feel like manually going through 2.5k+ .txd files, each with their own however many textures inside, and that's just for gta3.img.

EDIT:

To illustrate what I mean, check this out.

59zCpf.png

The PC textures simply add so much more life and authenticity to the game's world. I think it comes down to how you can look at the PC textures and actually see real-life pictures that were taken and then used as assets for the textures. It just makes the environment that much more believable and "comfy".

well hippie fix is here http://gtaforums.com/topic/778440-map-textures-fix
Only thing left are the roads to remade, it would be like 3 or 4 textures to remade and then copy them over few times, should be easy with total commander and magic.txd

I think because... WE CAN. Also, nobody are forcing you to use them. ;)

Perhaps the ideal thing to do would be using PC Textures modified to look like PS2 ones.

Some like the 100% accurate PS2 experience, some like the more or less PS2 like experience...

I did it a year ago, I retextured ALL San Fierro roads using the grey PS2 color and Kalvin's texture on PC quality (512px) but was exclusive for his Beta mod. :p
