#LastGenMasterRace.

1080P. 30 FPS.
I honestly don't give a f*ck about that geek sh*t, especially since my all-time favorite game look like this:

Sorry for ya.Graaafuxz don't make games, just so you know.

Also, assuming that you owned a PSX, your childhood must be sad if you didn't played this game.

Childhood defined by pixels?

Well I bought that Z whatever car and I know full well it OFTEN hits up the FPS because I definitely notice frames missing at top speed in the city. It seems even faster out of the city however.

For what its worth I'm slower even on my .63 mile drag race.

About 1 second on average with all supers at least.

PS4 btw.

To everyone criticizing that people are "crying" about this, the fact that we purchased this $60 dollar game TWICE now being promised that it would run smoother and BETTER not worse. I see the point that if the cars are slowed down to give it an easier feel while turning, but my only contradiction to that statement is what if I am used to the old handling and speed? I and many other feel strongly towards this and that is why we are upset. I can understand having to adjust to the new driving because it is faster, but slower is a slap in the face. If the game is better the game should run better, which is does for the most part, and there should only be improvements instead of decreasing features such as speed.

You don't have to agree with my opinion and you might feel the extreme exact opposite, but you don't need to complain about how everyone else is "complaining". f*cking hypocrites.

Seems to me they made it slower so average players can drive in first person mode. But if you are experienced driving in GTA you can drive in first person mode now flat out forever without crashing. I could do with quite a bit more speed so I hope they up the pace.

Heh just posted this elsewhere.

Yeah that's about 3% slower. I guess they have to slow the cars down a bit in order to render the new foliage in time?

I highly doubt that, it'd be one of the dumbest ways to optimise a game.

Pretty sure this is exactly what has happened. People are sold on the looks, and to achieve the looks they have had to sacrifice the speed, albeit ever so slightly. Executive decision.

But don't get me wrong because Im not complaining. I would in fact rather it looked ultra sexy in trade for a 3% loss in speed. And this speed loss equates to only a .005% reduction in the gameplay enjoyment, which most human minds don't actually notice.

No, I seriously SERIOUSLY doubt this is the reason for it. People call this a 'new foliage' system, it's not. This is the exact same system they had set up for the PS3/360, except this time they increased the grass density and included some new grass models/textures, that's it. They call it a 'new' foliage system because people fall for it and think they've done an entire new system which will make them want to buy the game.

If R* really had an issue with streaming objects and cars going at the speeds they did on 360/PS3, the difference in speeds wouldn't have been at five seconds, it would've been much bigger. I really doubt that the camera moving five seconds faster would've caused any sort of streaming issues with objects on the PS4/X1.

If anything, it sounds like they just decreased the speeds a little bit to make the cars easier to drive and control in first person mode, which makes much more sense.

It has to be a bug or something. I can't see them making cars 1 or 2 seconds slower in a mile and a half, that ain't much. If you are going to make them slower on purpose (which I can't see them doing) why by so little?

They had to make it slower due to copyright issues. Why doesn't anyone get that?

He's trying to be funny. You can't copyright speed, otherwise Koenigsegg owe a LOT to Porsche.

I doubt many get that but there you go.

I can confirm it's really slower, topspeed has been decreased. I could follow a supercar and stay with it on the highway with a muscle car.

They didn't do a good job with the dials either, example: some dials are in KM/H and some in MPH in most of the cars with KM/H dials you can go up to 120-125 KM/H in some of the MPH cars it goes to 80-85MPH (that's about 120-125KM/H) so far it's correct but then you have the majority of muscle cars with MPH dials and they go up to 120-125MPH on the dials???

Funny when driving a sentinel and a stallion next to eachother same speed 80MPH on the sentinel's dials and 120MPH on the stallion's dials and they were driving next to eachother???

Why did they make the dials like that at least make an effort to make it look fast even if it isn't, the MPH dials go up to 180-190 and the needle stuck at 80-85 on the left side of the dial while on the highway at max speed, WTF? Why didn't they make it look like 180MPH on the dial at top speed so at least you had the feeling of going fast instead of going flat out and look down and see 80 and 2/3 of room left on the dial to go faster?? Was more fun if the speed was the same but the needle went to the end of the dial imo, the disappointment regarding the cars would be smaller. I have to say they did a good job with PS4 version and i have no regrets just a pity that the cars are like that now, hope they fix it in the future.

Other fun fact, my legit top speed in gta is 176.6mph on the thrust (motorbike), now it doesn't even go above 125mph on the dials. Karin dilettante same top speed as sultan?

I always had the feeling in gta since the beginning that when you fully mod/tune a car it has the acceleration and speed it should have when stock. It's like when you fully tune it it drives like it should when bone stock.

Just no fun in buying a supercar fully mod it and then discover it goes 120km/h on the dials at top speed? C'mon Rockstar what were you thinking??? I can understand that this is something that bothers people that are in to cars just like myself. Please make some improvements on this matter Rockstar.

This was exactly what I was thinking when they said that they were going to add gauges into the cars. Everyone will know exactly how slow theyre going and complain. R* should really consider stopping with the Grand Slow Auto. Sure they can make cars on Midnight club go 654654 mph, but god forbid a car go past 100mph on GTA...

.................. ok I gave up trying to catch up on this thread, its gone a bit...... well... so forgive me if this has been suggested before...

Now this is just MY opinion im not stating fact here, just thought I would get that in first :p

It seems as tho some cars are effected while others aren't, and the levels to which certain vehicles are effected seems to vary a bit also...

E.G my oracle goes like stink but my sh*tzu (the new sports bike, never remember or pronounce its name) is now a steaming pile of junk, im literally struggling to keep up with highway traffic, its the worst effected vehicle in game IMO, im totally shocked by its lack of power..

Now this is my guess as to why...

In adding FPV, some cars are just to hot to handle with there original handling physics, take promo FPV video we got from rockstar... the bit with the bike going through traffic, I watched that and thought "holly smokes bikes are going to be insanely difficult to ride"... if you watch that vid now, bikes dont have anywhere near that acceleration or speed, hinting thats R* have doctored speeds late on just before release..

I think that while some vehicles handling can "handle" the usual speeds or close to it in first person, other simply carnt, a lot of cars are waaaaay to twitchy in FPV as it is NOW, so what would they be like with last gen acceleration and top end? They would be pretty much un-drivable..

But rockstar could not edit any one vehicles handling to be different in TPV and FPV, that wouldnt work.. I think its an issue they came across late and/or was way to big of an issue to fix for release, I mean think about this for a second...

Pick any car ingame thats twitchy on last gen or needs any measure of care while driving at speed and is prone to oversteer, now apply FPV! With its added twitchy stearing, your going to have an uncontrollable animal on your hands..

To fix the issue you either need to be able to customise the control sensitivity on every single in game independently (huge task and stupid on every level) or all vehicles need to be re moddled in regards to handling to perform well both in 1st and 3rd person..

I think we will get a update in the near future with a complete overhaul on all cars ingame, and thats going to take some work... a lot of work..

I believe a late call was made to nerf the speeds of certain vehicles Just before release, some got hit hard while others were left or are hardly noticeable...

I PERSONALLY dont think this is a FPS issue...

You could barely outrun police Crown Vics when flooring your decked out adder in prev gen anyway. Overtaking NPC cars on the highway took forever, etc etc.

The notion of speed in GTA games have always been relative, there's a reason why there has never been a speedometer in GTA.

I fail to see how this is a problem.

If you're stupid enough to have bought the same game twice at full price just to waste your time comparing them side by side, I feel sorry for you. It'll cost 15$ in a couple months.

Well I fail to see how you can comment as you dont have next gen gta? And im stupid...?

I payed $60 for a game on my new console that I enjoyed playing on last gen, that makes me stupid?

You on the other hand are wasting your time on a forum for game you clearly think is pathetic and will more than likely part with cash for later on down the road when its cheaper.... I dont think you are in ANY position to call ANYONE stupid..

I have next gen GTA, but I didn't pay for it. A friend left it at my house and I of course tried it out before he came back the next day to pick it up.

It is the same game with better graphics and a first person mode. I might get it used in a month or two over ebay or something.

I don't think the game is pathetic, it's just not worth paying the full price twice for the same game so I'll buy it off someone else for 5$ eventually if R* removes the property ownership restriction. If not well it's still an alright single player game.

So in my opinion yes, it's pretty stupid to buy it twice at full price to end up with a great single player game and a locked up pseudo sandbox multiplayer game where you just pile on money with nothing to spend it on besides properties, and you can't have more than two.

The cars are like 5% slower, big deal, it changes basically nothing to the gameplay.

It's a petty complaint by spoiled teenagers who take questionable decisions with their parents money.

I really think that GTA V was one of the best games i've ever played, and i started on a 8086 computer.

I absolutely love it and the additions are quite nice, but i feel like they are a little too few. I was certainly expecting new garages and properties on SP, car insurance, and a couple of thing more, but instead, it is just a few new weapons, new cars, the FPV is excelent, but there are still basic things that i think are missing.

I played too much Commander Keen on my Hewitt Rand 8086 not to know what a good game is.

GTA V is indeed a hell of a good game. GTAO is a choked up marketing ploy. R* is struggling to provide the content necessary to catch up with players progress. When the high life update hit, every one already had the cash for a nother property. Instead of simply removing the restriction and let the hoarders blow all their money on garages and be strapped for cash/cash cards, they just pushed the limit a notch further, which accomplished nothing but making the players wait for them to catch up again while going through playlist after playlist of rooftop rumble. All you do in GTAO is drive around and wait for R* to make it fun. The game's f*cking dead and the number of players has nothing to do with how alive a game truly is, or feels.

I haven't even fired up the game since the hipster update and I couldn't be bothered. Both my garages are full of modded cars so as far as I'm concerned I beat this "MMO persistent sandbox game" in less than 6 months since I have reached the top of what there is to do in the game. In the same timespan I had barely scratched the surface of Planetside 2, which is free, immense, persistent, massively multiplayer, a million times more rewarding, there's a whole new continent that just appeared, new powerups, Planetside 2 feels so alive all the time, you can log on twice a day and the game will be completely different each time, etc etc. GTAO is a ghost town with pink cars and people running around in yellow board short desperately looking for somthing to do. It's so sad. I should have 5 appartments and working my ass off on my vehicle collection but I can'T do that. GTAO is fading into a distant memory and looking at a chrome adder in first person will not let me buy more houses and more cars. It's the same exact game.

I'm not going to play GTAO on next gen if there is still a limit on properties, there's just no point in it, but it's worth 5$ on the used market to go through the SP campaing again in first person.

Meeeeeemorieeeeeeeeeees! :3 I literally pictured Doom II: Hell on Earth when you said that because in the Top Secret level (MAP32) you have to kill 4 Commander Keen heads in order to pass the map.

I hope the speed is upped. BS man. I wanted that Supercar feel. I wanted to feel that adrenaline rush going down the highway at neck breaking speeds, wondering to myself when should i hard break to avoid getting ejected from my car and "Mission Failed".
