Do you sometimes refer to real life vehicles with their respective GTA

Recommended Posts

Well, I live in Germany, so I barely see and GTA cars here, but if I see a car I know from GTA, I instantly refer to it with its ingame name. I don't even know the actual model, sometimes not even the brand.

"Whoa, what a nice Bravado Buffalo!"

"Well, this Stallion had a nice front bumper. I don't remember it being in Transfender... oh wait..."

are everyday business. :D

i get that a lot to.

There is always this blue and white Karin Beejay XL parked near my house and i always see a blacked out Ubermacht Sentinel on my way to school.

Occasionally  but since I'm really into cars and work in a garage it's more "Thats a nice EJ2" for me, It's a habit I can't stop. Whenever I'm with friends and I say something like that they're always like "WTF are you talking about?".

No, never.

In fact, that thing of calling real cars as their GTA counterparts is something that started with V and only happens with some cars that aren't very well known to the average player. The Z-Type, for example.

You don't see them saying "Look, nice Dominator" when they see a Mustang. But in a video featuring the

you will surely read in the comments "Z-Type from GTA V". I used the video example because the chances of seeing one IRL are very low.

It depends on how well known the real car is in popular culture.

Lol me too when I see real life cars I can't resist on calling them with their in-game name, so when I see a Charger it becomes a Buffalo, a Corvette becomes a Coquette and it goes on and on. Sad that there's no Honda Civic remake in GTA!

Not often. Rather, I think of the vehicle's GTA equivalent.

Oh definitely... Especially when you are really introduced to that particular car through the game. It kind works both ways though. If I'm playing with someone who doesn't really play GTA, I may refer to a Sentinel as "that BMW looking car" haha

I've been doing it since III, oh look! A bobcat! What model is your truck? A bobca - no wait, an '83 Ranger. Yes I know my truck is not a cat. Thank you.

They made the FQ 2 match the Infinite FX a little too well. I was actually unaware it existed before, so seeing it now I do think of the GTA car.

I would feel bad for those drivers, but they probably have too much money to care about the resemblance. Or the fact the car sucks.

i admit, after vice city I stopped caring about car names in the game, so to me it's quite the opposite... when I play I'm like "oh, that's a NOT audi! Woah, an almost-ferrari! Watch that BMW-ish car"

the only name i still use in real life is infernus (just for the cool sound).

I have to admit, I did this a few times before! Only when I saw an Audi that looked like Michael's Tailgater.
