So , can we have two separate online characters?

With the news of some peoples cars being lost, i was wondering , cant we just create a brand new character for now, and then later on import our characters from our ps3's and xbox's ? I only made one before, so i wasnt even sure if you can make a second, but i thought i saw today that you could make a new one , and save the transfer for later is this correct?

Should be in Q&A thread but when you transfer and get to the selection screen you can choose to play a new character, And import later.

essentially yes, but shared bank accounts,

 

you can still play as the old one on old gen, but all progress will be limited to that generation

 

same applies to new gen, all progress will be separate

When you transfer do you keep your money on last gen and does it transfer to CG? Because it seems it would be smart to accumulate more money even buy a cash card before the transfer if it gets duplicated

This is a good question. Im having problems transferring my created character and I wanna play online but Im hesitant to create a band new character in fear that once I do, it wont allow me to transfer my old one

Both characters transfer and i sold 3 adders last night. I had one or 2 that either didn't have a sell option or got the $50k limit message.

Do i have to edit the characters right away or can I just play with my main, and then when I want to play with the second I get to edit? Or I have to changed them both when I log on

You can just play with the main. I did that and played for an hour or 2 before going to the second character to check the adders.

ok, but MY question is can a create a whole new character while they sort this transfer stuff out and then once they do fix the transfer problems, go back and still be able to transfer my character. IM basically saying once i create a new player will i be screwed and not be able to go back once the transfers start working.
