Transferring Your Previous GTA Online Characters and Progression

The original character will be left with nothing in its bank account? Or everything reamains in the same way as before? I will still play with the old char, so I will need money there.

Ok, so I'm getting a ps4 this weekend (late I know). However I have a question that may or may not be stupid. So my ps3 died 6 months ago and my psn account is currently linked to my SC account. So when I want to transfer, do I need to also link my ps4 to my SC account or not? Obviously I will use the same username on my ps4 as I had on the 3 but I'm still somewhat confused. I just want the transfer to work perfectly without my dumbass ruining it. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Nope all you have to do is sign into your PS4 with the account you played on PS3 with load up into GTAO > Transfer your character.

 

As soon as you load up into SP you'll get the notifcation that you've unlocked the returning player bonus as well

Nope all you have to do is sign into your PS4 with the account you played on PS3 with load up into GTAO > Transfer your character.

So a quick question.
This is my current situtation played on ps3 never transferred. Bought it again on PS4 and started a new character (Lvl 150 in slot 1, Lvl 50 in slot 2)
Planning on transferring my ps3 character to ps4 if i delete my slot 2 character will my ps3 character go into slot 2? My understanding from reading the offical support thread on R* was that I would lose both my characters and all my progress and the ps3 character will move to slot 1.

So a quick question.

Yes whenever you tranfer from PS3 to PS4 you're PS4 progress will be overwritten by your tranfering character

I want the imponte dukes on ps4 but I'm not transferring from PS3 I have read that if I go onto a PS3 on gta and finish the protologue that I'll get the transfering stuff but if I go onto gta online on the ps4 using the same account will I lose my data or will I have to start my account again because I'm lvl 181 and I don't want to lose it help

From my understanding is if you go and play the prolouge using the same PSN you have on PS4 then log onto PS4 it'll give you the tranfer bonus.

 

But don't take my word as bible

If I am not mistaken, to be able to transfer from xbox 360 to xbox one I will have to use the same xbox live account. This means that I would have to use my brothers account on xbox one. I really dont want to be using my brothers account on next gen since I want my own.

So my only option is to buy a Ps4 with my own psn account.

Yes and yes.

 

As your character is tied to your gamertag, you will have to use your brother's account if you wish to continue on Xbox One, or transfer your character to a new account on a different plaform (PS4 or PC).

I have already transferred a character to xb1 and then went back to 360 to play with friends that hadn't upgraded. Now I have progressed further on the 360 character and would like to transfer it in replacement of my other character. Is there anyway this can be done if I contact rockstar?

No there isn't, Once you transfered from 360 to XB1 it's done.

No once you transferred to XB1 you can't transfer to PS4 you can only go to PC from there.

 

No it won't mess up your XB1 toon all toons on each platform live in their own separate universe from the others.

I bought GTA on PC when it came out, fired up online to see of it worked, tranfered and didn't think nothing of it.

 

Then I realised that I can't transfer my current next gen progress over to PC like elite challanges or criminal mastermind.

 

I really just want to retransfer but they said it would revert my character to the same date for both consoles, which means they have the file but they just don't want to play ball.

Because this could potentially allow duplication of assets as R* would not be able to control NG to NG (console family) player transfer. NG to PC transfer is manageable as PC is a different platform again to NG.

R* are very truculent about transfers for the above reason, indeed, they maintain that it is a a special feature that may be withdrawn at any time, therefore, a request that this dispensation is extended to transfer between console families is unlikely to be granted as R* cannot verify that the intent is not fraudulent.

I'm gutted. I just went and bought an Xbox One purely for GTA since no more updates are coming to 360, and after waiting anxiously for it to install, I'm devastated to learn that I can't transfer my character because I too tried out the PC version and transferred character then... All that money and cars after hours and hours of play just gone... Can't believe it.

I got PS4 last days. I take the first game gta5 of course. but I took the game to the PC platform, so I made a deposit 150- $ 200. PS4 via the Rockstar Games Social Club account to post my entry yesterday .so I enter a PC via the pressure transfer character I said yes. PS4 were unnecessary blank characters I open it. he came to the PC character. I hope to see a PS4, but I see the same characters in there, too

Let me understand this clearly

If I transfer my character from the 360 to the 1 does it still retain the same character/stats in the 360 version?

 

Or is this a permanent deal.

When you transfer you're character over, anything you have goes with it, money, stats, cars, property. Only works with one character though. So might wanna sell everything on you're second characters and delete it.
