Will you be able to add your own MP3s to the PS4 version?

Will you?

I do not own a PS4 yet, but have played pervious versions on the PC and absolutely love the series. $400 is a lot for me, but I would be willing to spend the money if I am able to add my own music to the game as in previous PC releases.

Add, no. But the USB player operates seemingly independent of whatever game you're playing, so you can just play music off of that.

No.

Are you sure? It would be surprising if they didn't include it, as it has been on all previous PC (and I believe, Xbox) releases.

If they won't allow this then I guess that's $400 I'll have to spend elsewhere this month.

Lossless formats only sorry bro

I'm not ripping again my 1,400 CD collection into a lossless format so that I can use the files in this game. Why would they not incorporate MP3s though?

Oh well, consoles are getting more complicated and more capable of frustrating your expectations as time goes on, so I'll guess I'll pass on the PS4 for now.

Yes.

Use a flashdrive, insert it into PS4 USB slot. Play music. Launch GTAV. Your own MP3's in GTAV.

GTAV on PS4 does NOT support custom radio stations like the PC version of GTAIV. Sorry. The only way you can listen to your own music on the PS4 during GTAV is just by playing your music straight from a flashdrive while you are playing.

You can easily add your own music:

1. Create a folder called 'Music' on a flash drive.

2. Copy your music to that folder (yes, mp3 works).

3. Start any game you want.

4. Press the PS logo on your controller.

5. Select the 'USB music player'.

6. Start playing the songs.

7. Go back to the game by pressing the PS logo again.

But wouldn't in that way music be always playing over dialogues and all the game sounds, not just in the car?

I remember when GTA: San Andreas came out for the original Xbox and it did in fact have a custom radio station that played all of the music you stored on your hard drive. It was one of the main reasons my PS2 started to collect dust. It makes no sense that a console from two generations ago had such a beloved feature but yet they can't be bothered to put it in the newest iterations of GTA.

tldr can i play radio on the cell?

My question is, will you be able to play songs/radio on your cellphone while out of a vehicle.. cause for me personally it's all about driving around and listening to radio/music, and when i go out of the car it's just not as fun.

I don't think PS4 can enable custom MP3 player "in game".

Xbox One might allow the players, but can't say for sure.

PC, needless to say, allows the freedom of choice.

Holy sh*t, you have just made me a very, very happy camper. This entire time I've been bitching about not being able to listen to my own music while playing games and I could have just downloaded all my music to my 32GB flash drive...... Just plugged it into my PS4 to see if you were pulling my leg and it does indeed play music. Thanks bro. As this guy stated just download your music to a USB stick and use it on GTA. It takes two seconds to pause the music when not in a car and you don't wanna listen to anything. Simple as that.

@Osho that is false as I just attempted to listen to music in Watch Dogs, now UFC and onto The Last of Us multiplayer on the PS4. It works fine, and I'm going to assume the custom player will work in all games.

I was saying through "in game - radio" and not "console", but good if what you wanted can happen anyways in the end.
