I want to share a bit of something I've had been wondering about the mural.

 

It's seems a little inconsistent to me, if the X's DO match the mountain, why is there the ufo drawing, the egg and the jetpack? There nowhere to be found physically, they're not like the X's glyphs, so if they're in there as some sort of reward display, the rewards can't be found just by looking at the mural with 100% completion.

 

What's the point of having the glyphs marked as X's if they're gonna put them in the hippy camp too? That makes the X's/glyphs less unique.

 

Why is there no thunder glyph? The mural has lightnings but if the glyphs are supposed to be the clues that lead you to discover the chiliad ufo, why only have a rain glyph and not a thunder & rain glyph? Does the mural counts as a glyph in some sort?

 

Finally, I'm thinking that from a developers point of view, the ideal thing to do is that the player kept exploring these clues and discover more by playing the actual game they paid for and not just looking it up on the internet, BUT, when not even using the internet can help you figure the mystery, then am I just plainly f*cked up?

 

I'll keep playing, see if I can find something useful, whatever happens with the people in this thread is completely unrelated to the search, so better play the game and talk less on the internet. Evidence worths more than anything that can be said, it talks for itself.

 

This has been my journey from the beginning. You and I are on the same page.

 

Question: are we discounting the Mural lines and ignoring them altogether? Are the lines the same from the Karma background Mural, if so... Then we need to decrypt the Karma mural to see where the word "begins", starts and if those lines are related to the In Game world map...

I feel like I have to share this information because just like the three in the game, I have been betrayed by both strangers and family in real life and I can relate to the main protagonists problems.

Believe it or not, it was my step son that broke my train of thought from the hunt. As I picked him up from school last week, he proceeds to tell me that aliens are real and he has seen proof. As I look at him with bewilderment and amusement, it hit me...*R as a business,..are GENIUSES.

Not only did they manage to make fun of us, they did it by making us throw our money at them in the process.

Guys..the game is called GRAND THEFT AUTO for a reason.

This is not "where's waldo"? The game makes it very clear...if you actually listen to the story. This game is satire at its greatest, and most people will just not get the gist.

 

This has been my opinion for quite a while now, that the entire thing is a parody that is working too well. GTA has always been about this kind of thing, after all.

 

But karma systems have been present in certain games. I simply don't feel too amused by the idea (in the sense that I would go "OMG THIS IS SICK" - I would just shrug off, seriously), but if it's in there... well, it's a gameplay mechanic. Some people will derail their entire lives over it as something meaningful, huge, the secret of life, but from a simple point of view there may be a karma gameplay mechanic in use. What it leads to? That's the question. But if it's there, surely there's a reward. Unless the entire karma system is part of the parody as in: make people waste their precious lives over it and then it leads to nothing but a "congrats" from Dr. Friedlander or something. Can you imagine the amount of time that many people are wasting over this, spending years to finally find it, only for it to be as meaningful as a "congrats, now do something better with your life!" message?

 

For some reason, I remembered Monty Python's "The Meaning of Life" now.

Thank you. I am glad I'm not the only one that sees this. The cultstoppers and epsilon were introduced first to show you who right and wrong is in the game BEFORE it was released. The textile city mural clearly says what you need to do to succeed:

"For when the one great scorer comes to write against your name, he marks-not that you win or lost-but how you played the game

In other words, its not *R fault that you want to waste your precious time on earth looking for something that DOES NOT exist. As a person who truly cares about human life, I beg the doubters: PLEASE stop wasting time on something that never happened.

 

Dont know if this has been mentioned, but:

 

The words in the bottom middle of the mural on the left side clearly say "if you cant stand the heat stay out of the kitchen"

And on the right side it is muddled and confusing. BUT i think it is a take on a bible quote "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible" except they have replaced the word God with women???? Right?

Yes... it is that dark reflective looking puddle. Once I take down the Brother's house with the canister, I'll head to Chiliad and try it.

Would you argue that it can't be the statue, because of dimensions or direction?

 

The mural is a depiction...of what?...so we should, by dictation of said drawing of a jetpack man, be searching for a stickman with a jetpack...really!? ...that's what the mural says...how many of us are looking for this stickman?

 

If I assume the mural is defined and accurate, I should find a man or figure that resembles the mural...where is this found? Anyone?

As soon as I get back into the game, NOLA sucks right now... what with the Sugarbowl, a free Usher concert by Jackson Square and the New Years weekend... I am very tired.

 

I will try both the fire thing and the Logger Beer Statue when I start playing again, on Thursday. But, what is the importance of the Beer statue, anyway... just to give me a heads up...? Just looking at the thing won't solve the Mural... so, what's the connection and where does it lead?

The Jetpack on the World Map is a road. It looks like the jetpack figure, yeah. I already pointed this out in a previous post a few pages back.

I imply that the statue is the jetpack man...period.

 

I imply that the said lift/propulsion lines, are depicting metallic glint...I also imply that the ambiguous nature of the mural is purposely ambiguous, to stir controversy and continued doubt on any concrete consensus. We see this daily, hourly...etc..it should not be dismissed. Confusion is king..Confusion reigns.

In the larger scope, the "right in front of Us" imagery, would seem to be mimicking, though romanticized for effectiveness and immersive considerations of the consumer, our everyday reality.....

 

I am far removed from reality. Television and phones are the new reality. Reality is becoming an interruption to our apps, music, movies, useless tech, and social media.

 

I believe that there are some odd things that should be seriously considered..if you believe my next statement.

Something Fresh from me (pun intended).I have a theme through my own personal observations and what can be considered my own personal symbolic egg or bringer of new life in the game, well the only one I can see in the game.Keeping it short and simple.

 

Oranges. (same as an egg, an orange brings new life)

 

"The Giant Oranges" on the little wooden shacks that you can knock off and roll/push all around the map, that do not despawn in Online but do in Offline, possibly trigger objects although I am curious if something could be hidden inside.

 

the "Mysterious Orange Tree" in the Orange Grove near McKenzie Airfield could be built into a complex puzzle as I have spoken of in the past and also relates to a Grove, like Grove street.

 

"The Oranges Crate" spoken of a while back... can't remember exactly but Just thought I would add it.

 

Last crazy thought...

Roll each of the big Oranges to the Logger guy and watch him come to life and slice them in two revealing the insides...if that happened in the game it would be awesome, I might try that one later today.

If you search his posts on here, he might have some more info on it. He was a great hunter and really well respected.

By the by... the Logger Beer Statue is a parody of Paul Bunyan at the Trees of Mystery Red Wood Forest National Park in Klamath Falls, Ca. about 40 miles south of the Oregon border on HWY 101. Used to go there all the time as a kid. But yes, it does look exactly like the Jetpack figure. Flip the Chiliad Mural over in photoshop like a mirror image and put the jetpack symbol there. See what we get (haven't tried it yet).

I live deep in some Oregon woods...nothing but trees all around me, and the Wilson River. Father is from Klamath Falls. I'm aware of the Bunyan parody and have seen the real life version several times also...small world.

@Auntjeff has a point, the mural doesn't specify on what is or how exactly looks the drawings in the mural, the egg could be the representation of the hidden alien egg prop, the ufo drawing could be the sunken ufo and the stickman could well be the logger statue as auntjeff says.

 

So the shadow stickman from the altruist camp maybe isn't is what we thought, now it seems somewhat of a stretch there

@Starcover: (my rebuttle) Your using a cop-out answer. I have the latest update for the game. No more excuses... I'm an active tester and have gotten bored of posts of speculation based on zero evidence.

Future updates don't matter at this juncture. We work with what WE have. Deliver with solid pictures or video. Or give us a different theory to test.
