I think maybe xmarqs has given us a bit of a clue here ( facts are just interpritations , there are no FACTS ). I just cant seem to be able to work it out though but im thinking of the list on the epsilon web site where all the statements written end with the word FACT ?. this is also written on the wall in an allyway next to the club you can buy. just a thought.

This is the space where I usually say something....not sure what that was going to be though.

I find it interesting that one of the cars online, that offers the most customization, handles great, accelerates the fastest 0-60, etc.... free. I never expected to always use the free car every time I play. I don't really care to drive much else now.

Random thought on the mural.

I'm sure you all know my theory on the mural by know. Had this light bulb moment last night

regarding the lightning bolts.

They represent the "spark" that is needed to see the UFO'S. the spark being us the player. The UFO's don't appear unless we are in a certain position.

So yeah that was my thought. It made more sense last night when i was high. Now I've typed it out I'm not so sure but there it is for you all anyway. Enjoy! :D

I think I may concentrate a bit more on the psych report. I can't really come up with anything but that, when I try to think of something that wasn't crap as a reward. Even the psych report is bunk..but I think there's more to it maybe. The games telling us something all through it. Even the tract. Doesn't it even elude to or flat out say that we don't need money?

Also, while we're all sighing about hearing these things repeatedly.....The Sinners Passage Mural and how you play the game. It all just seems to keep indicating something about money, playing a certain way, and making sense out of things like Dinosaurs being a lie...which is probably because all we have is bones so we should really only see a skeleton when we see bones...but we don't, we see instead something like a purple dino eating a hot dog. Technically, I guess you really could say that dinosaurs are a lie.

I have to wonder now what else is a lie in the game that we just overlook or don't try because it wouldn't work out in reality.

I usually try not to feed pareidolia (look it up, will ya, I'm sure many of you will relate to it), but I thought I should share some fun stuff with you good people!

Remember that Dignity Village or whatever it's called, the one with the "some look left, some look right but the answer is right in front of us" message? Well, I was playing V and had absolutely nothing better to do (thanks Rockstar for the mediocre SP content!), so I decided to see if there was anything interesting over there. You know, calmly check the place to appreciate the details (once again, thanks Rockstar, that's so much better than having more actual content to play with - it's great to ignore the real world out there and focus on your virtual one instead! *Ahem*). And you know what? If the answer is right in front of us or them or whatever... well, I'll be damned, because Chiliad is right in front of it, if you look from the Village's entrance.

More than that: for some funny reason, there seems to be "paths" leading from the Village to the top of Chiliad, even if they're sort of hard to follow because your character usually slips and falls. Now, with my curiosity piqued, I made my way as far as I could. I looked back and... oh, wait a minute! I think that's when pareidolia hit me straight in the face:

0_0.jpg

It sure looks like a huge eye from a certain in-game angle. Then I noticed:

0_0.jpg

It almost looks like the "top of the mountain" from the mural. But that's not all - pareidolia triple threat!

0_0.jpg

Why oh why does this look like that "alien font" from the hippie camp and so on?

I'm sure there's nothing to it, but there you go. Fun stuff! I guess I had too much of the "mystery" for today.

*snip*

I think I see what you're seeing here, thanks to the fact you apparently know how to use a camera, and focus your target in the center. However, I'd hazard a guess that it is, indeed, just pareidolia. Interesting, nevertheless.

Canodope, i think William may be onto something. He does make good points and he pointed out things that i never noticed. The pareidolia excuse is a bit of a cliche and overused. Because something is pareidoliac, it doesnt mean there isnt in fact something there. There could be. If i intentionally drew a face somewhere with only a few lines, that would be pareidolia but it wouldnt mean to totally discount the presenc eof something.

William made a correct correlation between the camp and chiliad messages. Chiliad is in front of camp. The "alien symbols" are almost on the other side of the hippy entrance. From up the hill, looking down, the entrance to camp looks like a square and opens up like a cone with the start of the hippy area region. Sort of looks like the chiliad map (with the hump [building=shack] on the map looking like the hippy camp entrance arch).

It seems William has made a major breakthrough in my eyes. I applaud you. We should all investigate the hippy camp and "alien symbols" more closely.

It's nice to see that this thread is generating a fair percentage of actual fair hunting and not plain ego delusion. Kudos to Soulshroude, a new member that has been contributing a lot - and I mean actually contribute, not just boost that he knows something and to hell with whoever disagrees/hurts his ego.

What I'm afraid of is that this entire "hunt" will only lead to something on current gen/PC. Sadly, I think this is possible as even a simple update which corrected an old glitch (animal witnesses) wasn't released for PS3/360 lately. This (as in "the mystery") could well be something that they planned to implement in the game with patches/updates and then last gen won't get it. What a waste of time that would be for some of us that still are playing on the older consoles! I seriously hope that it is solvable in every edition, though.

Now, let me ask something to older members: do you still play or have a copy of GTA:SA (plus a 100% save, just in case)? If yes, did any of you check if there's anything over there that the mural could be hinting towards? No, I don't think there's something we overlooked in the old game and I don't mean that it is an ellaborate puzzle that started back in 2004. What I mean is that maybe something that was already featured in the old game could be used as a clue in the current puzzle. You know what I'm saying? SA is one of my least favorite GTA games, so I don't have a copy anymore. If I had one, I would check it ASAP. I see lots of connections between the older game and GTA V, so I don't think it would be surprising if they did something like that! Plus, which game had the actual jetpack? Yes, SA. Maybe that's the point.

One example of connection between the games would be Epsilon: back in the SA days we wondered a lot if there was any sort of hidden side-mission involving it, if you could find one of the "children of Kraff" with the birth mark and so on, since it even had a website but its presence in the game was small. I see a lot of people going nuts over Epsilon these days and acting as if it was something created for GTA V, but it already existed in 2004, including all the babbling about a tract that still has to be written and so on. Then they made it a part of the newer game, the connection I meant. Maybe there are other things in the old game that are connected with V and the whole "mystery", and maybe that's part of the mural or where the jetpack comes in. I'm aware that it would limit the puzzle but then again it wouldn't be necessary for solving it, just a way of finding clues or something. Just a theory (which could be way off, of course)!

First off, thank you for the compliment. It doesn't go unappreciated...

I don't remember Epsilon being in SA. I do have the game on my PS3 still. I have played and beat it again, recently so I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, that there is no mention of any type of secret mission. Most of the storyline was about ganging. With a partial about why C.J. needed the jetpack in the first place. Because his friend who was a conspiracy theorist (who often complained about the white vans coming out of certain places) The Truth who owns a van called the "Mothership". Reminds me of the Omega missions, with The Omega and The Truth being related via Conspiracy Agenda. But the only things The Truth wants is the jetpack and the Green Goo from Area 69.

That's all I got from my last S.A. playthrough... sorry.

Anyone just try hiking chiliad from any point of view that looks like the Mural? Especially hiking like the lines on the mural are displayed? Could help...

Been lurking for the last while and had to post one last time just to say...

The time has come earlier than expected for me to end my hunting(and video gaming in majority) My first crop has bloomed and the Egg has hatched. Today is one of the greatest days of my life even though i have to say goodbye to the lot of you for the long term.

To everyone, thank you for the 3 years of good memories. I know you all have it in you to solve the mystery. Please do not give up.

Nah, please, don't take my post so seriously.

I did mean to post it for people to reflect upon the images and see if maybe someone else noticed it and found something else. But I seriously think that there's nothing major to it, although it is kind of a big coincidence, isn't it?. Heck, I could try to "pull a Brian" here and point out a few parallels between that Village, its message, the lies, the eyes, segregate and rearrange and so on. Nevertheless, I don't think that's the big mystery - but yes, I'm still wondering if those aren't really an eye and the alien font. Especially the font, it sort of looks too elaborated to be just the textures playing tricks (of course, it could and may well be). And that "eye"... From certain angles it definitely looks like one, plus its format is too deliberate, you know what I'm saying? It's almost as if it WAS made to look like an eye.

Now, the one thing that surely amazes me is Mount Chiliad itself! I took a few helicopter trips around it, calmly trying to pick on details I never noticed before and... whoa, the thing is huge. Is it definitive that we checked every inch of it? There are lots of paths and places that you can climb/walk on. Would it be such a big surprise if there was still something in there to be found? Maybe not an interior, but a place where you can do something and it'll trigger whatever there is that could be triggered. Maybe that's what the red x's are alluding to.

PS.: You know, you can learn to appreciate "observational mysteries" more when the ones making such theories are like that:
https://www.reddit.com/r/chiliadmystery/comments/3m1g5h/subtle_clues_that_reveal_answers_to_the_mystery/
I may think that there is more than just something to observate, but here's a down to earth fellow presenting his theory in a very kind manner.

Agreed. Just throwing ideas out there, you know? I like thinking outside the box, most times. I wonder if the speculative new peyote big foot plant change could be taken to the Bon Fire below the Autrist camp? Has anyone tried sacrificing any animals or crypto creatures in the fire during posted times of day or night like the writing states in riddle?

Just stumbled across this on the net and thought of the hunt. Haven't posted since the peyote hunt ended.

http://kotaku.com/gta-v-players-find-cool-new-bigfoot-secret-1732650366

Just edited the OP with this video by GTASeriesVideos, posted by L0SS4NT0SK1LL3RV:

Requirements:

Necessary requirements:

  • All 27 Peyote Plants must be collected.
  • "The Last One" must be completed - doesn't matter if you kill, spare or kill early the sasquatch and it doesn't matter what medal you get.
  • The time has to be in between 5:30am and 8:00am.
  • Day must be Tuesday - doesn't appear on any other day.
  • The weather must either be "Foggy" or "X-Mas".

The good thing is that the plant will pop up right in front of you once the necessary time or weather requirement is there so you can just AFK right there and wait for it to spawn.

If being Bigfoot can allow you to take that much damage as proven in the video...what happens with 'take control' of the fort...what will happen when you go to the bunker, etc.

Still fascinates me there if they've added Bigfoot surely they'll sort a JP

Edit: If you cannot tell, this squatchy surprise has gotten me all misty and riled up.

Like it hasn't been in since the beginning. All you have to do is add variables and make things more complex to keep them hidden.

1 variable = 50 million people find it.

2 variables = 40 million find it.

3 variables = 10 million find it.

4 variables = 100,000 find it.

5 variables = 32,000 find it.

6 variables = 3,300 find it.

Etc, etc.

Those are not real numbers, but just to show what i'm saying. Hope that makes sense?

you can make it less than 0 if you want to. you can permanently hide something through variables if you want to. that doesn't mean it will never be found, but based on statistics, running the numbers, crunching them over and over, it is very unlikely. there are so many possible variables in GTA V that anything could be one, honestly.

Drive a red Bullet(Porsche) while wearing a Blue suit, a monkey mask, down Vespucci Drive, while it's overcast, between 8-9PM, and during the real life month of September... Has anyone in the world ever done this? It could be the answer(no, i don't really mean that).

the variables are almost infinite. however deep they wanted to go, it was all there for them to do so.

EDIT: A Combination lock is just a bunch of variables that need to be done in a certain order(Legit) Or you could blow it open(Hack the game) 2 options just like the in the game Heists. Rockstar are clever bastards :) We've all been trying to crack this vault open for a while now.

I'm not naive enough to fall into a manipulation trap, so no worries. I have been playing GTAV since day one... if I had EGO, I would be telling you all what to do and where to go because a few things make sense. Instead, I remain HUMBLE and give suggestive thought... carry on.

And, since we have three Protagonists... there are many more variables, since we can switch between each at any time who is to say that there isn't some where all three need to be at a certain time and/or under certain conditions. I have a huge feeling about this one...

Hey guys been a while. Damn I miss these threads! I still read along its crazy to still see some of you original hunters still around. I spend all of my time online now, though I am still always looking for things mystery related, just online.

While speaking of variables I just wanted to point out what they may be to the new guys.

Many moons ago I spent alot of time with the moon and discovered that you could be under a specific moon phase on a specific day of the week.(At the time many players assumed their full moon landed on a certain day every month and werent sure why some players full moons always landed on a friday and some always landed on a tuesday).

So anyway the 5 ingame worldly conditions could be moon phase, day of the week, time of day, weather condition and location.

Id like to see someone do some math with that and see how many variables they come up with lol

5 conditions/5 glyphs..3 of those conditions/glyphs gave us a ufo

soule561: I get you and understand your feelings, but the best way to get over that kind of behavior is simply not letting it get to your nerves and moving on. It is definitely annoying when you have someone clearly in need of attention to the point that they HAVE to make their opinion known and reply to every message that merely refers to them or goes against what's convenient to them, but seriously, life is so much more than that! This whole "mystery" stuff is a big joke, by the way, as in that it'll consume so much time but probably won't be worth it (heck, SP content is lacking already, surely this won't have a huge effect on the experience besides... I don't know, adding an item or even not adding at all and just being a "boo hoo, this is deep stuff I made up while in a weed trip"), so no need to get stressed, I guess. And maybe such people are just characters, who knows? Surely there's a point somewhere in a person who speaks so much of lies, deceptions and being free but has to manipulate others to do their bidding. You don't need to be the government to control others, after all.

By the way, yes, there are lots of variables - but would it have a point if you needed such a deep combination of variables to make it happen? Clever, maybe, but then you're risking that it'll never be found. And if it isn't supposed to be found, then maybe it isn't anything worthwile. We're talking a game here, people, not real life where you need to keep going. GTA 6 will be real one of these days and this will turn irrelevant, unless it sticks to the next game. Let's be realistic: 6 comes out and suddenly your neighbour finds out that if you're running through Paleto Bay in a foggy tuesday by 5:30pm with (x) headwear, (y) shirt and (z) pants with Franklin, an alien egg falls from the sky, you have a cutscene and that's it. Ooooh, the mystery is solved! Will people go back to V instead of the new game just because of that? Really?

I am not so sure that these variable theories would hold much weight considering the fact that some more simple aspects of the game have been overlooked in development.

It also relies on the fact that someone in the development team is a mystery/puzzle enthusiast and would actually go to the effort of suggesting it to the rest of the team and then actually implementing it.

These variables alone are already unlikely, let alone when we add in the extra variables mentioned above.

I am not criticising you guys, this is more of a knock at rockstar if anything haha.

I have a huge feeling about this one...

You sure these aren't the Tacos from yesterday evening?

HA! Yeah, I have a huge clue...*Hardly Boys...*

Unfortunately for you, only one glyph stands for 3am. It was obviously the moon glyph. But, if you take a careful and considerate look at the list of glyphs... more than a few of them are for certain times of "Day". Not night... I'm still testing theories related to the Bon Fire at the Altruist Camp. From Peyote animals running into the fire to other things... but good call, nonetheless.
