Show us your best motion blur shots!

Please Note: For this particular theme, RDR will be omitted. You cannot replicate motion blur shots in RDR.

 

How to make motion blur :

Spoiler

 

Go to your camera shake setting, set it to drunk.

Set the prefix to 10.

Note: your character or car must be moving in order for the motion blur effect to work.

Seek through the clip and you should see motion blur. You have to play with the camera angle and it gets really messed up in this setting.

Some of you really old forumers and Snapmatic Competition players might remember the Snapmatic awards. These awards were "Winner of Week 124" for example. If you have either forgotten, or have zero clue as to what I am even talking about, I am referring to these little guys:

I have spoken with @Zoobz, (the person who used to make these) and he has provided me the infos on how to make them. 

You may be asking: Bob, what does this mean?

 

This means two things actually.

Number one: sooner (or later), these will come back and be handed out to winners. 

Number two: if you were a PAST winner and DID NOT get one of these (due to the fact that these were discontinued in the competition way back when) you can PM me and ONLY me, to get one of these awards. 

To get one, I'm going to need a link to prove that you actually won (obviously).

 

When I am ready to hand these out, I will make another announcement. Do not spam me with PM's or PM me now asking for your award. I'm not gonna reply.

If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to PM me. I'm happy to clarify any questions you may have.

Honestly just experiment and take your time. Try different camera angles and filters, just mix things up from how you usually do things. Also thinking about how you want to setup a scene before hand helps a lot, at least in my opinion.

You can also look for inspiration everywhere, you don't have to replicate whole pictures but can for example see how the picture is compositioned or what color tones are in focus, things like that.

And as a last point just practice, the more you practice with the given tools, the better you can use them and can think about fresh ways of using them.

@70mustangboss429Tbh you just gotta play around with it my guy. Play with color tones, shades, as well as angles of focus and depth of field. On CG we only have the drunk camera shake method, meaning your motion blur isn't gonna be crisp. Like any artist of the old era would tell you, "use what you have." 

The more you play and experiment, the more you learn. 

i.e.: what I have done below is an example of this. If you wish, you can make edits outside of the editor like I did. Now, this isn't allowed in the competitions, but you can do it to non entry photos.
