GTA V (PS4/X1) Traffic isn't like what we saw in the trailers?

so I've watched few a streams and saw plenty of screenshots and I've noticed that the traffic is just like in PS3/360 if not worse

will there be a patch or Rockstar simply lied ?

There will be a patch. I think that will solve a LOT of little worries.

For example, when someone dialed 911 or anyone else the dialogue you were supposed to hear was not there.

It's a nearly finished game... It will be finished with the patch on the 18th... Neat trick from R° to not make us spoil R*'s surprises for everyone when leaks are rampant

You know what, i agree. That was my first reaction too, where are these loads of cars and pedestrians? Cause i really don't see it. Same with these..many more wildlife creatures underwater. From what i read, there really isn't that much of that underwater. But hey, soon we'll find out ourselves.

If it was a PS4 stream, that would probably be because phone call audio comes through the controller's speaker?

Maybe they kept PS3/X360 traffic density for gameplay matters, if there's traffic jams everywhere, it will be realistic but driving will be a pain in the ass.

QuestionableChanges

Traffic density at peak will be the same as the trailer or even better. The trailer was made with very specific ingame conditions. Of course we probably won't run into super dense traffic the whole time.

I'm not entirely surprised...in fact, I'm glad it's not.

Most likely the trailers created peak levels of traffic at a time in the appropriate zones to advertise the city, so the game CAN make it approach it, but not all the time.

I don't expect a patch to change this any time soon.

I prefer it this way, frankly...I'd rather not slam into another car because of thick, no-room traffic.

Bullshotted again! Guys do not, do not trust or go by any "Official" screenshots or trailers from rockstar ever again! They are nowhere close to the actual gameplay you will experience. They make ubisoft look like saints!

I believe that the same persons complaining about V traffic are the same persons that sets traffic density to "1" on GTA IV

It's not the first time Rockstar lied to us. Remember before the launch of GTA V they mentioned how the Police would break into your apartment and use stun guns or how we could sell drugs?

From what I've seen so far the game looks good, I just hate how they lie to us. It's basically the same as false advertising.

Yep, with Rockstar games people best keep their expectations low and I mean seriously low as in the cellar or they will end up extremely disappointed!

Uhm people, just wait for the patch on Tuesday. If it's still not as much as in the trailers, THEN they lied to us.

OP is asking a question that no one has the answer to.

1. You saw high traffic density in a trailer - this could be time specific and there doesn't have to be dense traffic every minute of every day.

2. You saw leaked gameplay before an announced content patch that might make it like the trailer.

3. You're asking if R* lied, only R* know.

4. You're asking if someone actually knows what a FUTURE patch includes.

We're not f*cking mind readers dude. You're asking people who are as clueless as you. Wait, be patient and if it turns out the density isn't up to your standard then you can bitch about it.

Geralt of Rivia

Hey guys, how about you wait until he game is actually released?

I guarantee you there will be a day-one patch. There is for basically every game nowadays.

GTA V Is On PC

Like many others have said, we must wait this problem out. I'm not really sure how much the patch will do, but let's not kill ourselves over this quite yet.

I have seen some streams and will say that the traffic does look lower than what we were shown in the trailers, but maybe it depends on the time of day.

No, I don't, because I'm 99% sure they never said that.

But feel free to prove me wrong.

Isn't that day one patch just meant for stability? I don't recall it being a content patch? Just a bit odd that the first trailers showed so much and it all seems a bit.......different in these streams.

It's not just for stability. It's to fix things as well (usually).

We'll just have to wait and see if the day one patch fixes the traffic.

If it doesn't...

Ding ding f*cking ding!!!!

My guess is traffic is bad around the time of the trailer which looked anywhere from 5 to 7 and could be day specific too.

Why do people think they need to rework the entire came for "content"?

The number of cars that spawn is just a simple value in the popcycle.dat. This is really all they need to adjust.
