No hood cam?

So people wanted first person view, whine about the first person view, and then want the worse fake first person view back, right.

Not at all, we want both in there, one to keep the new FPS fans happy, one to keep the original fans happy.

Furthermore, I suspect most of the people in this thread never asked for the new view. I knew from the first screenshot it wasn't for me.

Ah I forgot to mention just some of them people, I do want a Good Hood can, but the shaky one in Ps3 needs to be somewhat improved, at least like fix it on the car not floating.

Shocked.Just shocked that they decided to get rid of this brilliant viewpoint in NextGen GTA5. What were they thinking?!!

 

Hood cam is the best most PRECISE view for driving and flying. Instant reaction to your thumbstick input. None of this laggy nonsense of 3rd person driving and the new screen-wasting 3rd person interiors of the cars and aircraft.

 

The eye viewpoint is so LOW even from SUVs. No fun in driving anymore.

 

Look at games like Need for Speed:Most Wanted. Has great hood cam.

 

The Buzzard... dont get me started. Flying this copter on PS3 was an absolute BLAST thanks to hood cam. FULLSCREEN bliss. Now we have this screenspace-wasting interior view and to top it all off a DARK TINTED helmet visor that makes all that pretty hi-res scenery MEANINGLESS.

 

I'm NOT saying remove interior views. I'm just saying - please enable HOOD CAM R*

I am 100% with you on your views regarding FPV in GTA, but i have to disagree with you about your NFS commet. Hot Pursuit was great, but they ruined Most Wanted in a similar way to agTA. They gave 3x3PVs but the FPs was way too lower. More of a bumper" cam.. It looked good and gave an impression of speed, but it was almost unplayable as you were simply too low to the ground and could t see oncoming traffic.

 

I campaigned to get them to with raise the height of the camera or give another view and nothing came of it.. Infact Rivals came out last year and made exactly the same mistake.. This is why i dont have a good feeling that RS will fix this.

 

Just Cause was another game which cryed for an FPV mode for flying and didnt add it.... And again i campaigned fo that too... So if the industry is anything to go by, we arnt going to see GTA changed.. But i am happy for RS to prove me wrong!

Already done/doing that... I am particularly dismayed tonight. I yave unlocked Trevor and am now doing more flying and the illusion is shattered becuase 50% of the epic views are blocked by a relativly poorly drawn cockpit.. There is just no need.. The only way to get the "full screen" experience is to go 3rd person and thats terrible, becuase its 3rd person.

 

I have realised that there is no way that i am ever going to fly/explore unless this is fixed and considering this was the main reason i upgraded to the PS4 version (and paid a premium to grt the PSN version) i am really gutted about this.

I'm positive that a heap of people who dismiss the hood cam as terrible, never really tried it. If people who love FPS view (and tell us off for wanting hood cam back) actually now tried hood cam for half an hour, they'd get it.

Someone responded to the Rockstar thread from the GTA movie making community and he was PISSED - the poor guys are having trouble making videos because of this change too.

 

I wonder if Rockstar even know about it yet? I haven't emailed them in several days, so I'm going to again tonight. I'd like some kind of response even if it's just a "we're considering it" or a "nope, no chance" - so I can sell the game (and I will god damned sell the f*cking game)

Believe me you have my support 100%.. I have to admit that my initial/immediate concern was about the driving.. But after playing for a few hours I realised that I didn't actually use the FPV view for driving on the PS3.. I used one of the 3PV instead... And this is unusual for me, as every other racing/driving game, I use a "bonnet Camera". But in GTA, the 3PV was better for me...

 

But I still want the Hood/Bonnet camera back, as there are times where I want that 'full screen' experience. And I believe that there should be a cockpit, and bonnet view.. And perhaps even a bumper view whilst they are at it!

 

What IS a huge deal for me is flying.. Flying is completely ruined.. Flying 3rd Person makes no sense to me.. Its all about FPV.. Getting a sense of height and speed... But having a cockpit taking up 50% of the screen just seems bizzare.. .I know they want to make it realistic.. But I find that games with a cockpit view would be like driving your car, with your head strapped to the head-rest... When you drive in "real life" you arn't static in your car.. You move around inside the cockpit.. You do this unconsciously.. You move forwards, back, left and right.. And you turn around.. So you can see every part of the environment OUTSIDE your car without even thinking as you move your head/body/eyes to see around the obstructions caused by the dashboard, and pillars... .But in GTA the view is fixed (OK, you can use the right stick to move around), but its pretty static.. And this just means that the cockpit blocks the same bit of your view, all of the time.

 

That said, I still like the cockpit view as its has its times/uses.. When you want it to feel more "realistic".. But in general, for the best experience, its a "Bonnet Camera" all the way!

 

I did reaf the RS forum with interest as someone has come along with a new take on the issue. "Film Makers".. They can no longer make their movies.. And I wonder if this is the very thing which will make RS sit up and take note.. People making movies, helps sell the game.. And in return RS make more money.. So the suggestion that people who make GTA movies can no longer do it due to the missing FPV mode is VERY relevant.

 

I just hope that RS take note and do something.. But like you, my concerns is that they don't even know. My Support ticket got closed and I was told to mail the GTAOnline address.. I did this several times and have heard nothing.. So its anyone's guess whether they are even aware.

 

Keep up your good work.. I am relieved to know that you are willing to campaign for this on our behalf!

I actually hadn't emailed them in a week, my support ticket hasn't been closed yet (I'm going to take it, that it's being considered??!) so I've emailed them tonight, very nice, polite - a bit long - I'm doing all I can. Each day I spent an hour or so posting on forums, looking for people who feel the same way and trying to drum up support.

 

I'm going to be SUPER pissed if they "fix it" by just making the FOV with cockpit better or something. I just want the old one back it was honestly, in my opinion, goddamn perfect - it's WHY I USED IT SO MUCH. I used to tell people all the time "you know, you really should try this, it's pretty amazing" - the f*cking irony and then they remove it?

 

Here's todays email, it's been out for just over a week now, I think account xfer/ server issues should be starting to lighten up and the dev team can consider stuff like this.

I have an entry on the rockstar support forums which has been updated, no reply but it's been 'touched' by the rockstar team (cause I haven't looked at it) it was updated 4 hours ago, despite my last update being 36 hours ago.

Maybe it's been assigned to someone in the team or something?

There's really no excuse for this to be a one or the other choice. It's a damn camera angle. It should be supplemental to the selection we had, not replacing.

FPV doesn't suck for driving. IRL you guys have the exact same perspective or are your eyes glued on the hood? Nonetheless, the hood camera would be a great addition, because it would make driving easier and more enjoyable for some. Don't give up the fight guys and gals.

He's being a troll for sport, there was never such a petition. He's stirring for a reaction because everyone in here is so pissed over what most people perceive to be a simple thing.
