why do the cops in gta 5 have the accuracy of robocop?

today while i was playing as franklin in sandy shores i got into a shootout with the cops, i hid behind a solid wall and one of the cops shot at me through the wall! :miranda:

why do the cops in gta 5 have the accuracy of robocop?

LOL i swear morons won't get the best of me, not even shooting at me through the wall! The moment i'll get my PC version i'll wait a little till trainer comes out and i will make myself invincible, lets see how smart those pesky cops will become!

You must not have seen the aimbotting-Max-Payne-On-Steroids-Robocop FIB agents that hang off the side of moving trucks at 4 stars.

Are you sure you weren't on the corner of a wall, and some of the bullets still hit you (could be part of your body was still exposed?)

Sounds like a glitch so, they should fix that wall.

Because people complained about cops and their goofy AI in GTA IV so R* responded by turning the dial from like a 4 up to 11. It's really bad AI though. They go and magically spawn in front of you in the air, they magically know the most offbeat spots you hide in and so on. It's very poor AI clearly there to induce artificial difficulty.

I had so much fun with the cops in GTA IV. The difficulty was perfect and I was able to survive for a long time and have a blast on six stars with cops chasing me.

 

On GTA V, whenever I get one star, I automatically go and hide because I don't want to deal with the cops. 1 star will automatically turn into 2 when they see me running away from them and it will only escalate from there. You get 5 stars in no time and from there, you know you will get cornered by SUVS with cops hanging off the side that are incapable of missing shots. They will snipe you with a mini smg from a mile away, or 4 or 5 of those SUVs will spawn in front of you, then ram and corner you in your car and you'll have 10 cops unloading machine guns on you, resulting in a very quick death.

and they sometimes can see where you're hiding.

Seriously, the accuracy that the enemy AI has in this is ridiculous.

 

When I'm in a helicopter, flying over medium-sized buildings at who-knows-what speed - the cops should not be able to hit me so easily with their pistols, while driving.

Good job police academy of LAPD. People are just used from movies that characthers other than protagonists to be complete noobs at fighting and firing guns. The bad guy wastes two magazines and doesn't hit one bullet, then the hero does a 360º jumping headshot, and saves the day ._.

basically, if you are close enough to the edge that you can see cops, they can see and shoot you :p

 

it's just more realistic and challenging than past games haha

if they hit you, 99% they have LOS (however limited)

 

i've played GTA V single player almost 1000 hours now and genuinely shooting directly through cover can't be more than a very rare 1% los bug associated with speaking terrain or objects :p

 

i've never seen it happen but i can assume there must be at least a few buggy objects in the game with messed up LOS/clipping

 

but in general cops can't hit you without LOS

The cops gave a ridiculous amount of accuracy and are so glitchy. Like, they can shoot around a corner, shoot before they've even raised their weapon etc.

For some reason the cops have all these benefits to make the better, and don't get me started with how quickly you become wanted. The police in this game, I the worst of any GTA pat III, Imo

it's very sh*tty that they can catch up with the fastest vehicle in the game, and the fact that they can hit you even if they're hanging from the sides of a granger at top speed, or in their chopper.

I don't care so much about this (although it can be annoying at times) I just hate how boring and serious the cops are. The fat cops in GTA IV often said the most cheesy and ridiculous things, but it made it fun to mess around with them.

 

The cops in GTA V seem to get hit with the serious and uptight stick everytime they go on duty.

It's probably true.

 

I have a Indestructible Rhino Tank in my 100% Modded GTA Game Save, and I can STILL be shot while inside the Tank! The cop accuracy is extremely fake, unrealistic, and down right stupid.

 

The system itself isn't bad, but Rockstar went overboard with making the accuracy of the Police Al way too high and also the wait time to lose the wanted level way too long.

 

It's an immensely flawed system, but I learned to live with it and don't find it that bad at the end of the day.

The real problem with the AI accuracy in this game is that it is the same for every enemy. It's one thing to take a bullet to the head from highly trained military personnel trying to defend the LAZER I was just trying to break into, but to have some redneck with a pistol take me out in one or two shots while BLIND-FIRING at me from behind cover as I am rushing him and using assault rifle hip firing to suppress him. I mean COME ON! Every single ped with a fire arm in this game has the accuracy and training of a Navy SEAL.

 

I don't mind a good challenge when playing games, but using poorly written AI combat scripts to induce artificial difficulty upon the player does not equal a fun experience. I just expected more from Rockstar as a game developer, but I've learned my lesson. I'm waiting until I read some reviews before I buy the remastered version for the X1.

Which is why Rockstar need to introduce enemy classes. Plainclothes Detectives and undercover cops for example. There is no reason a countryside police officer with no training should be able to shoot a gun as well as a marine and vice versa. So enemy classes could help balence out enemies and the amount of skill they have.
