Maybe it was in the "Next Gen Little Details" topic. Anyway, the general idea seems to be that the wipers will come on automatically when it rains if you're in first person view. I only managed to see a few secs of a couple of streams, but every car I saw looked like it had go-kart steering. I was hyped to hear that the steering wheel finally moved, but was kinda hoping that it had a couple of turns from lock to lock rather than the 90 degrees each way it seems to be. That looks very nice, I wish it was like that. Didnt think that they could make it so smooth. Yeah, they must have a reason to keep that out because in last gen there was actually an animation for more than 90 degrees. Would have been good if they had left that in and the character could always have turned the steering with his palm when a gun was equiped, something like in driver san francisco while drifting. Would be cool if the wipers actually worked and the wheel could turn like 180 degrees or something. BUT: We should be very happy about what we actually get. I can understand why there are no wipers, 20 seconds inside a car most streamers have already shot through the windscreen or smashed it via a crash. "Console limitations" Ironically, the simple steering animation matches the pathetically designed console steering control, which has no decent linear range for steering. In the console controllers, all the small steering adjustments in the control range take place in a microscopic fraction of the range, just outside a dead zone that covers 14/ to 1/3 of the whole control stick range. I have been ranting about this since GTA III. Actually watching the steering wheel move could give me some useful feedback on where the dead zone stops and actual control starts -- perhaps it can actually help me improve my subtle steering control.
