Negativity Regarding The New Release

I think a lot of it comes from impatience. R* is teasing us with a game we already played but has new content. Okay, GTA V is really nothing special anymore. You don't have to keep offering us trailers but instead maybe for once in GTA's existence give us an actual gameplay preview. I'm sitting here waiting for some solid leaked gameplay to show up so I can see if this game is truly worth buying again and what has been shown isn't pushing me to get a PS4, Xbox One, or a new PC to play this supposed better version. I'm not saying that the new version of GTA V isn't going to be as well-received as the original but what I'm saying is that giving us a little bit here and a little bit there doesn't motivate people like me to jump up and grab this new version.

 

I couldn't agree more! No matter what anyone says about Rockstar it's undeniable that they know how to market a product. I skipped this whole 'remastered' 'definitive edition' craze when I jumped ship from PS3 to PS4 almost a year ago but Rockstar has me hooked in. I think a lot of people are just going crazy thinking about it because Rockstar is hanging it in front of us on a piece of string but we're on a treadmill, some people just can't take that.

 

There will be a sh*t storm unless V on next gen goes above and beyond peoples expectations, that being said as much as I'm looking forward to play the game in first person and the new features, I'm level headed enough to recognise and be OK with it feeling like the same V we all know just a little bit more fluid and shiny. People expecting more could easily be disappointed.

It has a ton to do w/ R* shady business practices. I love GTA, but to act as if R* didn't treat its fans like horsesh*t during all of this proves how much people are fanboys or are getting paid by R* themselves.

The only way some people will give any credit to V is if they just remake IV again and slap the V label on it That is all there is to it. It is not IV and is not trying to be like IV and that is it's biggest sin.

Nah, I was here for the original release. The responses back then didn't seem as illogical as they do now.

There's a difference between pointing it out and saying it multiple times a day basically every day for a year.

Where's all the peds and traffic we were promised?

If that's what you're worried about, then buy it for PC. Then you can freely set the Traffic Density slider all the way too 99 and basically achieve rush-hour like gridlock. Edited November 15, 2014 by Andreas

I watched some of the streaming footage, and so far it's exactly what I expected. A smoother, more stable GTAV with a few more tweaks here and there. I didn't expect it to suddenly have so much depth that I could go to the police station, sign up to become a police officer, train at the academy, graduate, and sit in a back alley listening to my police monitor as a poptart kitten farting rainbows flies past at 300mph in an invisible Aston Martin Vanquish.

OP. People here are very passionate about the game. There are two things going on here. People have this extreme passion and nitpick to a degree that would put Air Crash investigators to shame.

Secondly, this is the internet, people can say whatever they want, make whatever claims they want but at the end of the day its mostly bullsh*t.

I'd bet my copy of Watch Dogs that 99% of the complainers will buy GTA V on their Ps4/PC and still enjoy the hell out of it. once they get on a forum, they'll bitch.

Theres nothing wrong with bitching, If Rockstar are reading these forums, it'll just be things for them to add into their idea banks.

I don't see how these pics can be an upgrade. It's just really really annoying that the traffic and ped density is so low.....I have actually canceled/postponed my order. I'll wait for people's response on here now before I buy it. If it's patched and it turns out that the density is a big improvement then ill buy again....but I don't see the need to rush and play the game at midnight if it's going to need a patch before its the finished product. The FP is really cool but on the top of my list was traffic and ped density which they made out to be a huge improvement. I'm not worried about interiors or missions or bears or jet packs.....I just wanted a more alive city. Edited November 15, 2014 by Andreas

It seems to me that some people aren't looking for a fun game to play over the holidays, but more looking to GTA to plug some serious holes in their lives.

 

I've long been convinced that a large part of the gaming community is unable to have fun in a normal, lighthearted way. They're deformed by the progress in hardware capabilities so now they expect a technological leap every season and get mad and if it falls short of that. I can't even begin to explain how off that perspective is. It's always about what it should have been, not what it is.

 

Gamers (and yes, I am generalizing) as a group really are childish and annoying. Just not that fun to be around. That's why I don't hang with them and gamers only hang with themselves. If I watch a movie I don't want a f*cking lecture about how Batman's hood is all wrong because in the comix...in fact, I don't want batman, because I've seen that movie in the 90's already.

 

Of course, this kind of attitude is getting pervasive. Corporations love that sh*t, because fanboys will buy everything you throw at them. They'll preorder the special edition based on some screenshot, a year in advance and clean your house for you if that gets them 'early access'. Do you know what that makes you? A muppet.

 

But hey, enjoy all that negativity...treat rockstar like a friend that makes promises he has to keep and GTA V like the girlfriend that needs to fix your life for you. Maybe of you pay a hundred dollars extra you can get a plastic statuette of Trevor with his dick out... And you still wouldn't know Rockstar is f*cking with you...because they can, because it's just too easy.

Negativity is the thing on the internet, conspiracy theories, some as silly as the world ending out of nowhere in December 2012. Any game, no matter what, loved or hated gets the same thing, the exact same. If a dev doesn't reply to an email, or doesn't release DLC, they become evil, big money loving corporations, and that's said about every developer! from rockstar to the guys who make little big planet.

 

It's impossible to please everyone. Some may jump on a bandwagon, bitching about something they don't really care about because they've seen others doing the same, whether it's a film or game, look at some comments on youtube for a game or film trailer, it's like a wall of moaning.

Yep. A lot of it comes from the marketing of Sony & MS as well. Many console gamers don't have a gaming PC and with all the "uber next gen" crap that Sony & MS have been pushing for the last year or so, people are genuinely expecting some kind of revolutionary titles. Couple that with R* re releasing what was already an amazing game and general expectation levels are through the roof.

 

I'm not a pc gamer, but gaming rigs have been more powerful than the current gen for a few years, and if you want to see what the consoles are capable of, you only need to look at some high end pc titles for the last few years to get an idea of what can, and more to the point, can't be done.

None of those are game breaking or pre-order canceling leveling complaints. Its just people voicing concerns... thought.. Day 1 title update is still on its way.. so I won't be so quick to judge.
