Anyone else feels GTAO ruined all other games?

It's so good that it totally ruined my ability to enjoy other games. 20 years I'm playing video games and I've never felt like this. I'm worried that I'll never gonna be able to enjoy another game...

i know there's a lot of griefers in gtao, i stopped playing it for right now and started playing story mode, but i wouldn't say it ruined other games for me and i've been playing video games close to 30 years.

I've been playing GTAO all year like many people here. I've missed other game releases, or just bought games that gather dust... So in a way, yes GTAO is what I've always wanted for a GTA game, and it has kept my focus all year. I agree with OP to some extent.

I am 28. I enjoy GTA:O even with it's shortcomings. I would not say it has ruined other games for me but I do enjoy it and is what I mainly play. However with youtube and twitch I am still able to see other games. I like the story of games however with being broke I just can not go out and buy them all. For example the last of us. I was able to watch the story of the game on youtube. It was an amazing story. Would I go out and buy the game for the one time play probably not. But I would gladly pay some $5 for letting me watch them play the story. I enjoy games a lot but I just do not have the time and some times the skill to complete games. I especially do not the money to play every game ever. So being able to watch the story with these new outlets is awesome. I am able to see the game and enjoy what the developer has done. When I can get the money together to upgrade to the xbox one I will only own a few games. Right now that list is Halo:MCC, GTA V, and Halo 5.

 

Edit: If they ever come out with another Fallout game I can gladly say that will eat away a few months of my life. I would still probably get on gta once a week but that would easily take away my time. Also hint to the fall out series drop remastered versions for PS4/XBOne and you will have a few buyers at the very least.

Havent played GTAO for a few weeks now...

Killed my time with FFX/X-2 HD Remaster, FFXIII/-2/-3 NG+, Drakengard 3, Tales of Xillia 1&2 and Tomb Raider.

Fallout would definitely eat up 100s of hours of my life. Dare I say a 1000?

Greatest Game Ever Created but since i got a ps4 i gotta get farcry 4 and gran turismo 7. I was into Payday 2 for a few months but it got repetitive. GTA4LIFE im 28 yrs of age btw.

GTAO is still my go-to game after a year, though I have been playing Sunset Overdrive a lot alongside it. Hell, I still play Minecraft

 

The GTA series are my favourite sandbox games, hands down - but I will still play other games too as they don't tick the boxes for ALL of my gaming needs.

tbh I think it ruined last gen gaming for me, since nothing came near it.. but now I'm a new-gen 1337 member, I'm seeing that there's still quite a bit of life in gaming..

 

hell, I've even been blown away by just how good Madden is on the PS4.. (actually more like feckin' awesome tbh!)

 

Then again, by midnight tonight the other ten or more games I've got in my PS4 collection may well start gathering dust..

36 here and I'd say I'm a casual gamer tho there have been periods in my life that I go hardcore. Like the last year with GTAO. My wife considers me a hardcore gamer now, and that I've been hiding this from her for years lol. Only other games that have brought this level of addiction since the ps2 era is Vice City, San Andreas, Red Dead Redemption ps2 era Madden, Fifa and Champions of Norath 1 and 2. My god me and my friend played the hell out of Champions.....from 2004-2010...RIP. My boy still occasionally asks that we buy a PS2 just to play those 2 games again lol.

I stopped playing GTA5 and GTAOnline months ago. I've been playing both older and newer games since then and I doubt I'll go back to playing GTA5 or Online if ever. At the minute I'm playing through Far Cry 3 and I'm enjoying it immensely.

 

I don't think I've ever played a game in 30 years of gaming where I can safely say a game has "ruined" other games and GTA5 certainly has not.
