Anyone else feels GTAO ruined all other games?

It's so good that it totally ruined my ability to enjoy other games. 20 years I'm playing video games and I've never felt like this. I'm worried that I'll never gonna be able to enjoy another game...

Hardly, and I got news for GTAO. Its gonna have a hell of a time fighting for my attention from Dragon Age: Inquisition since they come out on the same day.

It stands on its own, but can't replace hardcore shooters, racing games, or sports games

Not at all. I go into my modes...will jump into a game or two, and work it for weeks on end, then onto the next. Right now I'm wrapping up my 2nd play-through of RDR and really into F1 2014 and GT6.

 

When I return to GTAO, it's feels a little new again. Great game for sure though, always a 'go to' game when I'm in GTA mode....when I pick it up I can't put it down.

Can't say that it has necessarily ruined my desire for other games but imo there just isn't anything out to draw my attention away from GTA yet. I think im gonna either stick with xbox which ive done since '04 & get the XBONE or return back to playstation(50/50)which i haven't been with since the first one. Oh boy do i feel like Lebron(with mu hairline in tact)right now, decisions decisions.

Nope not at all. I finished quite a few games since gta v came out. Gta online is special, but it's too repetitive for me. I'm actually surprised on how many hours I spend in the game already

gta has raised the bar... i used to hate buy games that you were done with in 2-3 months gta can last for years... especially now that it is online

Yeah not for me. Recently had a break from GTA and played some older games Hitmam and GT5 as well as finally getting COD ghosts as advanced comes out (nice n cheap won't ever pay top whack again for COD unless its historical like they used to be)

rockstar should be making like games with marvel comic book and dc characters open world with villians ppl can eitha play as villians or heroes that shii would be live

It has made other games not as appealing for the most part, however I've been playing RDR online, Gotham City impostors on 360 and Metal Gear ground zeros and I finished the PT demo on ps4 more than I've played gta in the past few weeks.......however, gta is all I'll be playing on ps4 after this Monday night

No. GTA serves different purposes than other games I own.

Halo: Full-on, more serious shooter with dedicated maps, FPS.

Forza: Actual drifting. Manual shift. Advanced tuning, upgrades, painting, cockpit view.

Destiny: Shooter, exploration, looting, unlocking

I agree op, I've also been playing video games 30+ years and gta online hasn't left my xbox much since it came out. Other games I've purchased since get maybe an hour or so then I'm back in Los Santos. I probably wouldn't have bought an xbone yet if gta wasn't dropping for it in 4 days.

I suggest you try Alien Isolation, best game I have played in a long while, if you're expecting running and gunning xenomorph's then maybe its not for you.

No, gta online has made me appreciate games that specialize in certain game types.

Yes. At start I hated it, didn't play it much and was playing steam games much, much more. Then when I had gotten bored of those games, I gave GTAO another chance and now I'm addicted, it has ruined a few games for me but not all.

In terms of open world crime simulators Grand Theft Auto has always been king in my book; never had much time for of Saints Row and the like.

I would say gta is my main "go to game" but I love other genres, story driven if have huge passion for if done right..

 

On current gen we are finally getting some real mmo zombie survival mgame on the horizon in H1Z1 for ps4 and class4 for xb1, not much info on class 4 yet (thats its codename btw), but really looking forward to both of em..

idk its like no it hasnt ruined other games for me and I can enjoy them while taking mini breaks from GTA but then after some time I get GTA withdrawals and I feel like I have to play immediately... im mainly just addicted to the series and I cant picture having any console (in the present or in future releases) without a GTA game

We're getting the DayZ standalone too at some point. Been hooked on that since the Arma 2 mod back a day.
