Time for Customized Lobbies?

With the upcoming release on next gen, how many of you want the opportunity to create your own rules and regulations for an open lobby? Ex: guns allowed, class of cars, amount of traffic, headshots only, etc.

I dont want this feature just because I'm sick and tired of the assholes, griefers, etc. (but thats a big reason). We need this to create more freedom among the players. The current lobby system is too one dimensional.

IV did a good job, being that it was Rockstars first online creation. I believe this method but with significant changes, would be the best.

What are your thoughts?

Jerking For Soup

Hopefully, I just want a friendly fire off lobby or a no military vehicle lobby. Something like that.

I highly doubt they added such a feature.

They really are ^

On another note, I think it would add that level of diversity this game desperately needs.

The demand is high! We need custom lobbies with as many options as possible: traffic, weather, cops, pedestrians, military vehicles... Why not? It's variety, it's fun, it's not harming anybody, it's nice for machinima.

At least they can fix it... Invite Only and Closed Friends sessions are pretty much the same. Same for Crew sessions, most of them are your friends, an invite only sessions works fine for that.

I wouldn't mind it, but it honestly doesn't fit with the theme of the game

and we do have invite only, which is basically the same

and then you would be put into annoying rpg only lobbies...it would just divide players even more, I think its fine tbh

I highly doubt any lobby customization will ever come, GTAO is an MMO. MMO's don't let you make your own lobby.

MTA:SA done it better, and there's life trillions of servers. And its not even made by Rockstar.

How many times has this thread been started? let summarize the thousands of responses over the last 13 months......

Most of the Players online enjoying killing other players.....

R* wants to make most players happy.....

R* will keep us in the same lobby so most other players can kill you.....

or you can create an invite only lobby and play with how you like.

Would be nice, just to mix things up. It's just boring now, only having one public lobby type.

I miss the blip options from IV. Far only was awesome. Once a player got within a block or two the blips would disappear from the mini map

This game is P2P, so our systems are the servers, the R* ones just have our characters data and do match-making, etc.

Interesting idea, I could think of a few ideas however I can't imagine they could pull it off without it being a big mess.

GrandTheftRobbo

I really dont find griefers a problem tbh, like everything has a weakness or there is always a way to counter-combat any situation (unless its an invincible modder or something)... worse case scenario use quick-job or something to teleport away or if it gets that bad switch lobbies... thats just my opinion though

I want what we already had in the last GTA release. Options to turn friendly fire on or off and the option to turn cops on or off.

Am I the only one that is seeing that R* has purposely left out these options to create an environment for mass spending with a currency they just happen to sell? In my opinion everything wrong with this game is stemming from the shark cards.

I'm also seeing a lot of people that is totally against it and I don't understand why. It's as simple as selecting friendly fire on lobbies if you want to PVP and friendly fire off lobbies if you don't. I'm assuming it's because they know the "carebears" won't be around for easy kills.

Also NO I do not want to make an invite only lobby! Some people actually enjoy meeting new people and playing with strangers in a friendly fire off lobby like we have before! How hard is that to understand?

It was argued to death in this thread - http://gtaforums.com/topic/746318-why-a-no-kill-lobby-is-needed/page-10- and the only argument against it is that it would split the player base too much but with RDR and GTA IV both having lobby options and having no problems I can't see it being a problem for R* to do it again.

I can't think of any reason to not have them.

I'd be happy if we could just turn player blips off.

That alone would greatly change the way the game is played.

That thread is locked with no way for anyone to voice their opinion. I'm also one that hates to split hairs but this topic is slightly different and I feel it warrants extra discussion with the upcoming release, surely you agree?

and the only argument against it is that it would split the player base too much

The job lobbies could easily accept people from friendly fire off sessions so I don't see how that would hurt anything. Also we're limited at 16/32 players anyway. The only thing anyone would notice is the lack of easy kills and I don't see a problem with that, I like a challenge when I PVP. I quit feeling good about griefing long before I was old enough to play this game.

As a matter of fact, on the 360/PS3 it may be an advantage in terms of performance: less police or fixed clean weather, fixed time of day...
