What are the odds GTA Online will actually work at 12:01am Tuesday?

There won't be nearly as many people trying to get onto GTA Online for PS4/Xbox One that were trying to get on for PS3/360.

But there will still be a lot, I'm sure.

It seemed to take forever to install Forza Horizon 2 on xb1 but i heard there was some issue with that game installing extremely slow. I hope that's not the case for V.

99%. Really, the other side of the world would be like 3pm when it comes out Nov 18 at 12 am, and that's not even the majority of the GTAO population. They've probably fixed the servers already

Agree. I remember with NBA 2k15, their devs were all "Oh yes, we won't have the same fiasco as last year!" and sure enough, 2K15 has been one sh*t-barrel of a launch. My expectations are neither high nor low. If they pull it off with minimal issues, I will applaud their efforts.

Isn't Sony doing a planed maintenance on Monday night, Sony have also mentioned that there may be some additional downtime after the maintenance period for testing purposes, which could affect the night owls playing GTA V after the midnight launch.

My ps4 installs very fast but I think there is some difference in the Xbox because like you said it took me at least an hour and a half to install forza horizon 2, I also got forza 5 and it's install seemed pretty long to but on PlayStation I've never had to wait over 10 minutes

I think it will work, but I'm expecting it to be very lag, the move to a new system is a huge one, but I don't think it will be as catastrophic as last time. I think the 30 Player lobbies will be the main problem, I expect some problems if it's a full lobby etc.

Even if it doesn't work right away who cares, they'll fix it and we'll move on.

 

The original Online launch was a disaster for a week or so but once it was fixed we played pretty much uninterrupted for the past year so in the grand scheme of things it's not a big deal.

there wont be any problems because rockstar have learned there lesson from the last time... and again there wont be 33 million people trying to hop online at the same time.. less stress on he servers not as many ppl have xbox one and ps4 as ps3 and xbox 360 . so i predict little to no online problems . and if there is so be it they will fix it eventually just like the last time.. it wont be the end of the world ;D

Well I work nights, but Monday night Tuesday morning, I'm off. So I'll be attending the midnight release.

 

Before starting online, I'm gonna keep a close eye on the forums, play a bit of story mode, and go from there.

 

I'd say about 2 out of 7 people will log on.
