As I sit in Bad Sport, I've been trying to occupy my time being creative. I've been sailing on the high seas and enjoying the freedom... well, until that toolbag in the jet blows up my boat.
I've been flying airplanes I never gave much credence to, before, like the Duster.

But recently, I've been rediscovering my bicycle collection. I all but forgot about them, but when you're stuck in a world where no one does jobs or missions, and being targeted is as frequent as an NPC with a coffee cup, you gotta look to new ideas.

While roaming the city on a bicycle is downright dangerous, it can also be great fun, a thrill, and a challenge.

My personal goal is to try to go from one skate park to another, unnoticed and unmurdered!
Trust me, it's not an easy task! The mini-map becomes your best friend!

So, just curious as to how people view bikes a year after first login and what your thoughts are on them?
If you don't own one, would you be interested in getting after reading thoughts here?

My personal favorite is the Scorcher, as it's most like my own "real" bike and it does what I expect a mountain bike to do.

Also, here's the the Wiki page of all the different bikes, if you're unfamiliar. Check em' out!

Lastly, here's an inspiring video, free of charge! Enjoy!

And of course, the original Queen video for Bicycle Race! CHEERS!

When I do go out on a push bike, it's my BMX. It takes me back to when I was a kid, jumping down the side of hills on my trusty BMX with no brakes, not a care in the world. I had many a crash on that thing, but I fucking loved it! Ah to be an invincible teen again.

And @fw3, I have to see your old school and raise you some new school...

I collected all the race bikes while waiting for special crates last week, I take them out in invite only but they often get 'accidentally' blown up.

I traded my PS3 version months ago when I picked up my PS4 (Only ended up paying $75 including PSN+ after trade ins and gift cards) anyways I've been thinking of different things I want to do once I get back online and one on my bucket list is to cycle the loop around the island

When I first started playing, I used to take out my Whippet bike and cycle to build up stamina. After a while, that thing collected dust.

Now, I like to casually take the BMX for a ride, even if I'm not doing tricks. It's a nice way to enjoy the scenery without the interruptions of an engine or radio.

Before GTA came out, me and a couple friends made a crew called Silly Hat Cycling Club, we wear hats and ride bikes err'day.

I do like using the bicycles though, pretty fun.

I've really started enjoying the Scorchers lately. Trying backflips or 360's off buildings or trying to do realistic rail slides has kept me entertained on some boring nights. I'm always looking for unique colors at spawn points but have found they only spawn in 5 or 6 colors.

My custom painted Scorcher

Old pic but there are still three Scorchers hanging there, just different colors.

where can i find a blue bmx or a lime bmx?

Bmx spawn at the skate parks, usually from 8:00 to 20:00, but I've only seen them spawn in:

Silver, dark grey/black, red, yellow, dark green, dark blue.

I haven't seen a lime green one yet but some people used the save editor and SP2MP glitch to bring in custom colored ones. They could spawn for all I know though. SeawallTX has a great thread (http://gtaforums.com/topic/735983-pimped-out-cars-painted-bikes-that-spawn-in-online/)on them saying they should spawn in every color you can choose in the race creator.

@XJ and 8888, yep only a few colors spawn online, but there are a total of like 26 colors and can only access all of them with creator and save editor if i'm not mistaken.

i like to ride atleast once a day for a few hours.

my bikes, Dark Grey is my favorite.

Love riding bikes. I hope they add the Fixter in online. For anyone that has seen BoJack Horseman, the guy on the left.....

I actually enjoy cycling any bicycle in GTA but i prefer the road bikes, i mean it's fun and all, but you become prey to rank 50 somethings driving chrome Zentorno's, they obviously can resist the temptation to take advantage of their measly k/d's and have to kill someone who is having more fun than they are.

I love all the bikes. The Scorcher is my current favourite. In white with no mudguards. White is uncommon.

Social club says I have 1,276 bike miles and stolen 245.

where can i find a blue bmx or a lime bmx?

There is the storm drain running the east side of the city. At the top end is the ramp “corner” many know from the race “Down the Drain” There are three covered areas under the road bridge. During the day a group of “bike park” kids spawn in the west side covered area. They don't always spawn on the first visit, so you may have to ride away 2 or 3 times, for 10 or 15 seconds, and return. I always go there on a plain bmx to be replaced. I think the times are between 10am and 7pm, but never when it's dark. Just wave a gun and the kids run!! There can be between 2 and 5 bikes spawn, I don't think I have seen more than 5. The colours change if you do the ride away and come back thing. I agree with XJpostman as I too have sadly never seen a lime green bmx spawn. However Lime green is one of the most common colours for the Scorcher. This is the bmx location and most of the colours that spawn there.

BMX can be very effective if you're being chased :p

yep the bmx can be very OP in the right hands. it's not prefect by any means, but i think people would be very suprised at just how well it can do.

I spent about 10 minutes trying to run over a guy on a BMX one night. He was very, very good and timed every jump just perfectly. This was back in the days before I started using bikes all the time and he left me behind so many times, simply by bunny-hopping over a small wall.

I did kill him though :D

Okay, so got out of Bad Sport tonight and not soon enough!

Best part is that I'm on a bike kick and really enjoying myself (when not being pursued like a golden snitch, of course!).

Here's me and my three amigos, out at the local skatepark from about an hour ago! Good times 4 sure! :)

Is the fixter still blacklisted?

I believe it's in single player, but I could be wrong. :)

  • 3 years later...

I'm necrobumping this thread, because I almost started a new one – then remembered this one from a way's back.

The reason for the discussion is that I rarely see anyone riding bikes in Free Roam anymore.

I spent an entire night alone in a session last night, and decided to take my different bikes out.

And honestly, it was AWESOME!

I can't remember spending that much time just tooling around and having fun on the bikes.
Once you get going and get into the groove, it's just such a blast.

Thinking back to the Matt Hoffman BMX games, I found myself stunting, exploring, and causing mayhem to see if I could survive just using a bike.

So, I am just wondering, now that this thread is four years old, is anybody using bikes anymore and if so, how do you use yours?
I'd love some fresh, new ideas to check out! Thanks in advance! Cheers! :)

During my Online play time, i've had a little to none bicycling experience. I used it maybe 3 times in freeroam? First time i've tried out how do they work in this game, second time me and my friend went for a ride to mountains and the last time was actually not long ago, we were hanging around in that BMX park.
The other times i've used bicycles are in heists as my PV. While people are using Kurumas and their sport cars, im going ham on a bicycle.

Mountain trip (i've had a weak laptop at the time and settings were terrible so im showing my friend's screenies):

Riding to the top of a mountain is grueling, I won't lie... but the ride down is nothing short of hysterical and a total blast!

Unless you crash and fall off and your bike keeps going for 2 miles... down, down, down...

I agree that Scorcher and BMX are the most useful bikes in-game, but personally my heart goes to the Endurex, since I rode similar bikes for over 15 years' worth of great memories. I simply love recreating my old cycling days in San Andreas, the map becomes so different when on a bike.
