You just have to link your Social Club with the last-gen account you're currently using, and link your Social Club with the next-gen account you're going to use and you're all set.

Can't deny the photoshop was easy, but its still obvious that you photoshopped. Also they've confirmed multiple times that stuff would transfer, why wouldn't they allow the transferring of your items anyways?

It's obvious because of what it says. I could make a totally convincing one if I spent more than 2 minutes on it, explaining how we're not transferring anything other than rank and RP.

 

Anyway, I'm not saying it won't transfer, but there has been absolutely no official confirmation from Rockstar that everything will. That is all I'm saying.

All I want to know is whether or not all the sh*t we bought will transfer. I couldn't stand starting with four empty garages and with no Roosevelt (both toons have one).

 

well obviously, that part is confirmed. Otherwise there would be no need to ever mention anything about transferring progression across, since it'd be easiest to say "everythings gets wiped, end of story"

 

CVG also confirmed via Rockstar, that you can still play online on an old console after switchover.

You can essentially progress your character on 2 platforms. Single player stats of course don't crossover.

 

So that's good news.

no you dont progress on both consoles once a transfer happens the 2 consoles progress separate

Well if you were to change the name linked to SC, none of the data would be on it anymore to transfer unless you were linked into them both at once. Right?

I wanted to know for example:

 

If you could transfer your current PS3 PSN account (ex. your sign-in I.D is 'Vercetti') linked to the social club, and transfer it on the next gen PS4 console with a new sign-in I.D - (ex. new sign-in - Ryder)

 

 

Are you only stuck from transferring to Vercetti from the PS3 to the PS4? or are you allowed to transfer onto a new sign-in I.D?

 

 

Same thing for Cross Platform Transfers. If your name is Vercetti on the PS3 and want to make the swap to XB1, but the name 'Vercetti' is already taken, how will this work? I'm assuming you will allowed to transfer onto a new online I.D for the XB1 then?

No but R* said in a Newswire post that you could. But in another one they said "there is no information related to that question" Im hoping that whatever account youre on doesnt matter and as soon as you log into SC it just loads up your toons and copies over. Thatd make the most sense

Ok. suppose player 1 on xbox has the same gamertag as a ps3 player 2. Not unlikely, Now both want to transfer to PS4, clearly they will have to accommodate this.

Linked my GTAV Online on X360 to SC. Sold X360. Linked new PSN to same SC. I guess I'll be fine downloading my old stuff through SC to my PS4? If not, fukc me.

Both cross-platform and upgrade transfer is possible. Everything (RP, money, cars, guns, houses, clothes, etc) will transfer. This was confirmed in several leaked videos and in the verified Reddit thread.

 

 

It's still unclear, what should you do to transfer your content and I'm not sure that UNLINKING your old account is necessary, but it will be clear very soon.

 

Gentlemen, just a little patience here: the game is only available right now for testers and a very few lucky people who get their copy early and they're reporting everything is fine. Since we can't play right now, we should not worry about it at the moment.

No. Just link your PS4 to your Socialclub account once you load it up for the first time.

I think that will work fine as the code redemption can be put in while you are logged in as the new character. (should work).

This is so confusing haha I have my character on my xbox and I am gonna transfer it to ps4, all I have is my xbox gt linked to social club, my psn is different from my xbox gt but ive never linked it to social club, will I be ok to transfer from xbox to ps4. Theres no way they expect us to have the same psn and xbox names half the people who would go to ps4 from 360 would have there names taken by psn members.

Try it? Or do you mean with PS4? However, i still doubt it will work.

I don't understand it... sure you can use your current PSN ID on PS4, and PS+ is required for Multiplayer. Did i answer your question?

This is the point of the thread. Rockstar has said yes in one support ticket and "there is no information regarding this question" so we wont know until they post the info.

Sup. So, quick question. I'm transferring from Xbox 360 to Xbox One. I'm still using the same account on both systems. So, when I get on GTA V Xbox One, will I just have to put in my socialclub info and then it would all transfer over or is there more to it?

I was confused at first but let me break it down.

 

-you start on 360. Have millions.

 

-just bought PS4. Yay.

 

-Monday night comes. Yay GTA V.

 

(Now I haven't seen any footage of an actual transfer, but I think this will happen)

 

-heads to Online, there's an option to create character or transfer character.

 

-you have said PS4 PSN ID linked to your social club.

 

-it recognizes your PSN.

 

-BOOM. You got your character.

I really hope Rockstar updates the Social Club and has PSN/XB boxes for both the past gen and new gen.

 

 

So if you have linked your social club account on the PS3 example, there will be a PS4 tab that will let you to link your -NEW- PSN I.D onto the social club, then transfer your PS3 character onto the PS4 with a new user I.D

All I want to know is, would I be able to transfer my PS3 character to PS4, to then transfer that character to PC when it is released? If that's not an option, can I choose not to transfer the character without having to fear the social club data being overwritten by a new character I create on PS4? So that I can still transfer my PS3 Char to PC.
