First Person Racing= More stupid ramming?

I'm sitting here, thinking about how awesome tearing through the streets and highways of LS at 150mph+, watching the speedo inch closer to the redline with 29 other people would be and then it hits me:

f*cking noobs.

Ramming and pitting is bad enough in 3rd person, but at least you can see it coming and brace yourself. 1st person; not a chance in close on racing at corners and in narrow sections.

I really hope R* automatically makes races default to non-contact once the lobby reaches over 12-15 people, similar to how Forza 4 would turn off cosmetic damage after 8 or more people were in the lobby.

Just a bit worried that I may have to permanently join a racing crew just to enjoy racing all over again.

ah if the standard options stay standard i dont think anyone will ever change the settings

i mean, like now, did any of you do much non contact races with randoms ?

you know, compared with the overall races you did ?

Switch to 3rd person mode then.

Hope this helps.

Races can be locked to 1st POV, so that won't help.

Just like how they promised in the "Last Team Standing update" that deathmatches could be locked to certain types of guns. And well, that never happened..

my advice is to avoid the terrible drivers or races altogether and go play Forza (oh wait, the drivatars still smash you like 5 year olds)

just do what i've done before when i would encounter a pitter in a race, i would ether avoid them or tap my breaks and watch them zip past me and wipe out (sometimes).

This is why I quickly gave up racing, and GTAO for that matter. This community is composed of a bunch of asswipes.

I've been wondering the same thing.

16 people was bad enough, and now they've nearly doubled that and I doubt the roads are any wider.

In any public medium that will occur. There are legit, decent crews out there if you look for them.

150 mph? with the still existing speed cap, people should be happy to reach 130 mph with an Adder on a long straight.

CrysisAverted

I hope R* makes a mental state specific for those who crash often in races (it easy enough considering they already keep track of your total collisions) and start placing them in races with others with similar hit ratio's ( of course its gonna have to be judged on who is crashing into who or what)

Or, similar to F1 2012 and others, crashing into racers costs you 10-30 seconds off your overall time.

I race in normal view. But what I learned is to keep glancing at your rear bumper. Keep your finger ready on the brakes. When they tap you, brake. You'll stick like a rock, and they will overcorrect from the impact, as they expected you to spin out, and then they will crash.

PS: Non contact races are sh*t. I hate them. Might as well be racing alone. Seeing where the other driver is is how you navigate the track and all that. It f*cks you up when they are a blinking ghost car that noclips through traffic.

I can already see it now...

You're approaching a corner.

You break and start turning.

Just as you're about to finish the corner...

You get slammed from behind by multiple cars that never use the break but rely on crashing and recovering.

Everyone using you as a crash test wall.

As you recover, you lose valuable time and positions.

Drivatars are only bad on Forza if you have friends who cannot race, or you have no friends on your FL and it picks random people.

OP. Just play in no collisions first person if you're worried, or just play with friends. Simple.

There's only one way to drive in GTA and it rhymes with "ramming:" Ramming

Everything else is just Non-Contact (which I personally love, too!).

PS: Non contact races are sh*t.

I don't have the game yet, but i can tell you that in real life all races are "non contact" races, otherwise you probably get disqualified and ruin your own race if you touch another vehicle...

So i understand why some people prefer non contact races: they want to avoid non sporty players.

Exactly and as far as special crates go you can forget about that unless you have 3+ friends in the same lobby with you...there are a lot cons to having a 30 player lobby that no one has though about...
