gonetoplaythegame Posted November 14, 2014 Share Posted November 14, 2014 What do we reckon would be download time of the game on a 100mb conection from the Playstation store. i think the ps4 version is 42-45 GB (not sure 100%). on my 50 Mb/s connection i can get about 7 mb/s download (at the very most). let's assume that it'd be 14 mb/s if I had 100 Mb/s connection.. 45 x 1024 = 46080 mb 46080/14 = 3291.42 seconds 3291.42/60 = 54.86 minutes so: 55 minutes that's assuming i calculated that correctly (i suck at maths) and that i got a solid 14mb/s download speed. obviously your connection will be different so i can't really say for sure but it might help give you some idea. This is gonna be mental case! Yeah, It is still anooying making us wait to dl until sunday. I mean it isnt a problem for me because i have a fast connection but some people are rocking an awful line. Only 1 issue there. I'm on a 100mb/s connection, even on a night that aint too busy I get close to 4-5mbps from PSN. Now, Sony are leaving their preload to the last day(or two), can you imagine the network traffic and its implications on speed? Best case scenario is people will get around 1-2mbps (bytes not bits) making the estimate download time to be a whopping 6hrs and 24 minutes. Lets say you're lucky and can manage 2-4mbps, this will reduce your time to 3hrs and 17 minutes, best case scenario IMO. This is based on download speeds from the most recent Destiny launch. Network was congested as f*ck and I was only getting around 2mbps. Edit. On a 100mbps(bit) connection, your maximum download can only ever be 12.5mbps, this is no considering overheads, so really, around 11mbps.
