For people living in the UK, this puts the maintenance bang on the midnight digital launch of GTA V. This could lead to issues with the game not unlocking at the correct time (obviously it needs to be connected to PSN to verify). Glass Cloud Posted November 13, 2014 Share Posted November 13, 2014 I just read the IGN article and it says that as long as you've signed on to psn since today then when there is maintenance you can still use the apps and play online, you just can't us psn of playstation home. Also, I'm betting that the maintenance is directly linked to GTA V's release. Maybe Sony are making sure they have enough servers for traffic or something. But I've never seen planned downtime go more than an hour over schedule. (Not unplanned downtime) You should probably think about staying away from GTAO until they have sorted their own servers anyway, teething issues and all, as warned by R* themself. Gdog Posted November 14, 2014 Share Posted November 14, 2014 (edited) What do we reckon would be download time of the game on a 100mb conection from the Playstation store. i think the ps4 version is 42-45 GB (not sure 100%). on my 50 Mb/s connection i can get about 7 mb/s download (at the very most). let's assume that it'd be 14 mb/s if I had 100 Mb/s connection.. 45 x 1024 = 46080 mb 46080/14 = 3291.42 seconds 3291.42/60 = 54.86 minutes so: 55 minutes that's assuming i calculated that correctly (i suck at maths) and that i got a solid 14mb/s download speed. obviously your connection will be different so i can't really say for sure but it might help give you some idea.
