There isn’t new 60gb PS3’s being sold in the UK but you there are a few pre-owned ones you could get most commonly sold in game station or any game shops that sell new and old.

60GB PS3s haven't been available in the UK since about last November.

Hey guys, I'm a n00b to PS3 and I have a question: For the new system update, are we able to listen to music while we play games yet? Probably not, right? I've never tried it. Has anybody else tried it?

Short answer, no. Whoever made a specific game would have to include it themselves, for games already released this would mean they'd need a patch or update for it.

No, it's the same as trophies. The game has to be patched independently, which not many devs are doing for games that are far along in production or have already been released. Devs should be implementing them into games that have just started production, though.

I just downloaded the latest PS3 firmware, and as a friendly FYI, it's 130.4MBs and takes 15 minutes at most to download at 150~155kbps.

 

Also, 60GBs PS3 are still available used in game stores and pawn shops as well

On the Orange Box (Half Life 2) I quick saved in a bad place, and now every time I load it up it's instant death. Is there anyway to go back to an earlier save or am I screwed?

Start a new game, and you should be able to start from the beginning of any chapter youve already completed.

did the same on Condemded 2 and every time i spawned a bomb blew up in my face.

Same, fell down a hole in Half life 1, accidentally saved instead of loaded. I just gave up on it at that point.

Tried taking apart my PS2 controller so I could practice painting it, and to know when I do my PS3 controller. I can not put this f*cker back together, and I am afraid to scratch the paint too. I hate this thing, so many parts.

If you can't put the PS2 controller back together than you shouldn't start on the PS3 one. Trust me, it ain't easy!

Is there a way to download PS3 demos on your computer? I've only managed to get on the PS Store and view PSP Demos but no PS3 demos?

@beavis - You asked something similar back on page 130! The following site was given in response. Not sure how up to date it is with the latest demos but there are a few there to download via your PC.

 

Wondered if anyone could confirm this for me? If I was to sell/get rid of my 60gb PS3 and later buy a 40gb version, as long as I kept my account details, sign in name, password, etc would I be able to simply input them into the 40gb and have a server (say for example) on COD4 remember my online achievements and level I’m at? Hope that makes sense!

Yo guys.

 

I've just got a brand spanking new PS3 and have a few quick questions.

 

When charging the wireless controller, does the PS3 have to be ON? As in, solid green light? Or does it suffice to just have the switch turned on at the back?

 

How long does it take to fully charge a controller and when fully charged, how many hours of gaming should I get from it?

 

And finally, does anyone have any tips on storing the console to avoid overheating?

It needs to be on, green light.

 

As for charging, i dropped to only one line after 7 days, so i assume around 10 days until it completly empties, but i always re-charge when it reaches one line, so i'd suggest you doing the same.

 

Charging takes around... an hour ?

I'd backup all your game save data, but I assume the online stats would be fine, seeing as they aren't (for most games anyway) saved on the device itself. I might save any "profile" files just to be sure, but the stats should be stored on their server and should stay there as long as you use the same PSN ID.

Yes, Uncharted supports trophies now. They are similar to the Medals you earn in the game.....well exactly like the medals you earn in the game but that's fine considering Naughtydog were the only ones to bother including a medal system in their game at that time for PS3 users.

 

And you have to start a new game....since trophies are tied to your save.

For which game? Uncharted has trophies now, all you need to do is get the update.

What do you guys think of that game, "The Last Guy"? Those developers sound whacky, but the game looks like it has some potential.
