Damn it! Well, has anyone here tried replacing there hardrive? Does anyone know which files I need to back up?

just saves i would think...havent tried it yet...ive been too poor but 20GB is enough for me.

I had purchased my PS3 back in August on EBay because it was at a steal-of-a-deal ($300 USD) and it's in awesome condition. I bought it for the arrival of GTA:IV, but then of course, the delay occurred.

 

I finally got my first game for the damn thing yesterday. Out of sheer luck (and I suppose ultimate patience), I managed to get a copy of Guitar Hero III.

 

It works pretty damn good. Finally I don't have an expensive DVD player sitting up on the stand.

The PSN one is on hold until Capcom figures out how to work around the XBLA size limit.....Capcom should just release it on the PSN and deal with MS later I think...

You should try Warhawk as your online title.....it's fun! There are games for it......you just haven't been buying them....if you like single player experiences than I would recommend Uncharted.

I bought MGS3 yesterday, and been playing it since.

 

And for some weird reason, the game is doing weird things, such as music stops, and keeps on freezing randomly. I returned it and got another one but the same thing happened. I played some other PS1/2 games on my PS3 but they never had these problems.

 

So I'm wondering maybe it's just because I have an 80GB and that it doesn't play some PS2 games as good.

My PS2 games work great on the PS3 but Uncharted has frozen up 4 times already and I had to hold the power button like a PC that freezes, but it picks right back up again! Great auto saving in place!

I haven't had my PS3 games freeze yet so I guess I'm lucky.

 

Although I have had my PS3 freeze while I was on the browser. (I was doing more than three things at a time)

Had it freeze while Folding. But I also had a short freeze when trying to quit COD4

Yeah a bunch of times, and nothing happens.

 

Like I said my PS3 games don't freeze at all.

That's exactly why. Some games don't perform as they would on the PS2 on the 80GB PS3 since it is emulated.

Yep, I knew it. Kind of sucks because my PS2 is gathering dust and I don't feel like taking it out and plugging it in as I really don't have any room to put it. And worst of all, I really want to enjoy MGS3 since it's an amazing game.

 

Anyways I just found this and thought it was interesting. It's kind of old though.

 

 

Soon after the announcement of Warner Bros. supporting Blu-ray exclusively, subsidiary studio New Line Cinema stated it will follow suit and join Warner Bros. in leaving HD-DVD.

 

Now even though both these studios are moving to Blu-ray only, New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. are still under contract to release titles on HD-DVD until May 2008.

 

 

 

For those of you with stand-alone Blu-ray players or PlayStation 3's, you can now look forward to the following releases:

 

- Lord of the Rings Trilogy

- Golden Compass

- Gears of War (Movie)

- Austin Powers

Yea that happend to me once. But since then not a freeze in sight.

Happens to me too when playing Oblivion. I'd exit out of my inventry and it would freeze. I have way too much items though, maybe thats why.

I installed it the other night and loved it, I went to store to buy the full version, but it's gone

It's not gone. You downloaded the demo which is why it is not on PSN anymore. You can buy the game through the demo itself I believe. There should be a "Buy Now" option.

I was playing around with the browser, downloaded 5 AVGN movies. It's pretty cheasy with out a keyboard

Its pretty cheesy WITH the keyboard. I have a logitech dinovo edge with a built in touchpad, and when my computer is down, i tried using the it with the ps3 keyboard, and it was absoultley horrible. you can't input in multiple text fields. even with the keyboard, the on-screen keyboard comes up and upon confirming what you typed, it presses enter and you can't input anything into the second field.

 

the browser can't do java, and asks if you want to keep running the script on almost every GTAF page.

 

I don't see why the browser has to be so crippled.

It's on the US store, or do you know a way to buy from there?

It hasn't been released on the uk store yet for some reason.

Although I have an xbox 360, I was a PS3 fanboy since the beginning. Only thing that stopped me from getting it was the price. I wouldn't worry about the PS3 winning in the long run. Microsoft isnt too kind to it's older consoles. Sony, still makes games for the PS2 for God's sake. Anyway I wish I had a PS3, Sony really knows how to treat customers. That is all
