Hey there, i have a question: there is anyway to do a photo or a screengrab in motorstorm and save it to the HDD? i've search for it but didnt get any related stuff...

.....Resistance is the only game that supports that right now. You can take in-game screenshots if you have a keyboard connected....not sure if Evoluation Studio added that with their update...

Are Sony going to release a new PS3 in the UK with a Dualshock 3 controller in the box?

Also my friend wants to know if there is anyway to connect a 40gb PS3 wirelessly to the internet, becuase he wants a PS3, but his wireless router is really far away from his bedroom so he can't use Ethernet cable.

40GB PS3 has a wireless built-in, so yes he'll be able to connect wirelessly.

wow.gif How? I have that problem too, but that's just because the wire goes trough alot of rooms, so the doors can't be locked...

Just go to Network Settings and go to Internet Connection Settings and scan to look for your wireless connection (you have a router set-up right?) and select it and enter your pass key if you have one and that should do it.

Ok, never thought about wireless.. That's just so awesome...

Yeah, same key as the PC (Printscreen) and I believe they save under PHOTOS.

New 120-160GB PS3 to rumble with DualShock 3?

Source: Popular tech site Ars Technica's Opposable Thumbs blog.

What we heard: There's no question 2007 was a bumpy year for the PlayStation 3. It began with the console in scarce supply post-launch, and progressed with month after month of disappointing sales reports. In an effort to jump-start the platform, Sony began a shakeup in its game division's management, which culminated in Ken "Father of the PlayStation" Kutaragi's retirement in June. The electronics giant also tweaked the PS3's configuration, discontinuing the 20GB and 60GB models in favor of 40GB and 80GB editions.

Last week, reports surfaced that the 80GB PS3 may be next on Sony's chopping block. This week, Opposable Thumbs reported that it had learned what would fill its slot in Sony's two-model PS3 strategy. The blog reported that Sony is phasing out the 80GB version and will replace it with a new configuration with a larger hard drive--either 120GB or 160GB. The new console will come with the new rumble-enabled Dual Shock 3 controller, which Sony said would be available in North America and Europe this spring. (The controller is already available in Japan.)

The official story: "As you know, we don't comment on rumors or speculation."--A weary-sounding Sony rep.

Bogus or not bogus?: Judging by the track record of ArsTechnica's source--who successfully uncovered the $399 40GB PS3 bundle--this looks not bogus.

Has anyone enjoyed the universal compatibility yet? Do US games run fine on UK machines or is their issues with certain model numbers?

I'd really appreciate a US site that ships to the UK.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue hits NA highway April 17

"Precursor" to Polyphony Digital's eagerly awaited PS3-exclusive racer will be available as a Blu-ray Disc or digital download for $39.99; Sony prepping Gran Turismo PSN channel.

This week, Sony CEO Sir Howard Stringer publicly expressed confidence that the PlayStation 3's once-flagging fortunes have turned around. However, many gamers are holding off on buying the device for one simple reason--its dearth of "system seller" exclusives. While Sony has spent millions touting first-party games such as Lair, Uncharted, and Heavenly Sword, none have reached the multiplatinum status of the Xbox 360's Halo 3 or the Wii's Super Mario Galaxy.

That may change later this year, when a wave of highly anticipated PS3 exclusives washes up on retailers' shores. One such title is Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, the latest installment in the acclaimed racing series that helped the PlayStation 2 sell more than 100 million units worldwide. Today, Sony announced it will go on sale in North America on April 17. The $39.99 game will be available both as a 2.2GB digital download from the PlayStation Store and at retail as a Blu-ray Disc, which will also sport an exclusive making-of high-def video featurette called "Beyond the Apex." No European launch details were announced for the game, which went on sale in Japan last December to celebrate the series' 10th anniversary.

Though it won't be as expansive as the full Gran Turismo 5, which has only a tentative 2008 release window, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will sport the same 60fps, 1080p HD graphics as its bigger brother. Developed by Polyphony Digital, the game will contain some 60 detailed replicas of real-life cars from Nissan, Audi, and Ferrari. It will also sport five racetracks (not 16, as initially reported), including re-creations of international locales such as Daytona International Speedway, which will allow 16 players to race together online. It will also feature a new in-cockpit view with realistic recreations of each vehicle's various dashboard displays, and will fully support the forthcoming DualShock 3 controller's force feedback functionality.

To help support GT5 Prologue and rev up interest in GT5 proper, Sony Computer Entertainment America is also launching Gran Turismo TV, a PlayStation Network channel "that delivers worldwide motorsport programming and manufacturer content." In addition, SCEA is planning a series of GT5 Prologue community races and related events.

As much as I'd like to have this game, I'd rather buy the full version.

I'll wait, it sounds good, but I'll wait to get the full game. That and MGS4 will take full advantage of the PS3.

I think, we won't be seeing the full version until at least 2009.

Alright, I'm about to take the plunge (gotta get it before IV comes out)...

Am I correct to understand that the 40 GB ($399) version won't run PS2 games???

I did read that the 80 GB is being phased out for a 120/160 GB version.... any inkling of a timeline for this....

Sorry if this has been discussed already.... just found this topic and don't have the time to read through 1000+ posts... I did go back a few pages blush.gif and search was not a very good help.

On a secondary note-- anyone have issues connecting to a netgear wireless router (wirelessly) specifically I have a Netgear WGR614 V5.... was a PITA to get our Wii to connect (had to manually configure the router with the Wii's MAC address for the two to talk-- the Wii found the network, just wouldn't connect)-- I can probably run an ethernet cable-- it will only be about 12 feet from my router but will have to punch a hole in the wall.

Thanks in advance....

Yea, it doesn't run PS2 games, not really too disappointing though, I sure ain't playing any of my old games...

I use Linksys WEP thingy, and I had to add the PS3 mac into the IP thingy... My genious cousin helped me on that part...

Can't help you about the rest though...

Also, 30% done with the Uncharted demo, anybody else got this, and is it recommendable?

Mmhhh... Did you enter your WEP key and all that?

If yes that sucks, I think you might have to do what I did...

EDIT: What demo's do you all have? I'm 50% with Uncharted, just to use a weapon and fireing with the analogue's, since I never aim with the analogue's, and I think that's something I will have to be good at in order to beat IV...

I was also thinking about getting Resistance Fall of Men... But I dunno, never really been into Zombie games...

Meh, I will probably start downloading that after Uncharted finished...

Any other demo's you might wanna recommend?

Try the Ratchet and Clank demo, Resistance demo (if you don't have it already), Heavenly Sword demo and Burnout Paradise demo if you haven't tried it already...

Resistance isn't exactly a zombie game....well they are Aliens (monsters I suppose) I guess you could say it but I would give it a try....it's not a Resident Evil typish game....even though I would have loved it even more if it used the same type of view instead of FPS.....I like third person better....but Resistance at least made me like FPS games...

Ratchet And Clank? Isn't that, like, for 6 year olds? mercie_blink.gif

And for some reason, the Resistance Demo is taking soooo long...

Use a sniper. If that doesn't work then I don't think it can be killed.

I don't remember because I haven't play it in a long time.

I am not a FPS fan either, but Crysis on PS3 sounds very nice, as it is graphically pleasing and I think developers should hold off their notions of what the PS3 can provide as a platform. I am excited that there are many, many ways this console will impress us in the years ahead.

Don't lose sight of the games one hasn't even crafted yet for PS3, they may prove the most stunning!
