You know, I don't get Sony at all. They make no sense. Why wouldn't they support the jailbreak and take advantage of it? Do you know how many good things can come from this? And what bad can happen? A PS3 failure? You've already voided your warranty so it isn't the responsibility of Sony anymore to fix it. This could enable 3rd parties to fix the PS3, thus creating jobs and boosting the economy here.

 

Oh, and to creating homebrew games and apps can also create jobs. And maybe even Sony could take the more successful apps and game creators and hire them!

 

I mean c'mon, these huge companies are so far up their own ass they can't see the light anymore...

Well if you don't want to support developers that make games you like then buy jailbreak, that's a big reason why it's bad because it's bad for game developers who get their games pirated thus making less money then making crap games and nobody buys them because they're crap then the game industry dies from everyone being bored of rubbish games because of jailbreak.

Alright so I tried playing my ps3 today and when I turn it on or switch an account it automatically says the email or pass isn't right and I tried going on multiple accounts to see if it was just my account and no it's happening to all the accounts I put in

Got my Batman platinum today. Had the best first round ever, grabbing 1100 points + 1000 variation points + freeflow + dark knight. The two following rounds, however, were so poor, that I didn't have all three medals at the start of the last one. It was amazing though, I recouped the loss and did it on time.

 

I also tried the additional content. Bah, not worth it. The combat challenge is easy. The predator challenges were fun, but I would have enjoyed them anyway. Then you have two infinite challenges - combat in the Records Room and one in Scarecrow's domain, with skeletons for enemies, where you lose at the first blow. The Joker maps, exclusive to us, were nowhere to be found, despite the fact that I had installed them a few days ago. Tried installing them again, see if they pop up the next time I launch the game.

Also, another useless update. What i would like to see is messages that tell you when someone is going in game or out of the game, like via steam, not just when someone goes online.

 

And Stupid US PSN Store still has no PES 2011 Demo. I guess it's to get FIFA selling more in that region.

sh*t, first they make us download that silly update, then put the PSN down for like 10 hours. It always happens when i decide to come online too. I'm having trouble connecting to Gta IV online (Gay tony) nothing new there.. same exact issues the last time i played Gta IV. "Cant connect to one or more players", "Nat too strict" blah blah blah.

 

Although i did have a good free roam game with 9 players yesterday, but I'm sick of it now. So inconsistent. About an hour ago i tried to get in about 15 games in a row and got those damn messages every-time. So now i did a Port forward (for like the millionth time btw) but now i cant check if it has worked because of..... maintenance

I had a load of trouble today just to download the update, it just never worked and had error to the server and by the time It was available on the pc then it decided to work and download on my PS3

I've had a PS3 for a couple months now and I'm wondering what games I should get. I'm looking for some stuff thats relatively cheap. I mostly play action games like shooters or action/adventure games. Any suggestions?

 

Also, anyone pick up Move? If so, how is it?

Been hearing rumors that Sony has made 75% of all third-party USB hardware incompatible with the PS3 because of those flash-drives that were able to jailbreak the PS3.

 

Can anyone confirm this? I haven't used mine since the update, but I'm going to be super pissed if I payed sixty bucks for a third-party controller just for it to be useless now.

Now this is a very interesting case, according to the reports at the Playstation 3 forums, it seems Sony has blocked "75% of 3rd Party USB" peripherals with their latest firmware update. Yep, that means anything not licensed by Sony can be disabled via USB, which unfortunately includes many 3rd party controllers (such as the PS3 MadCatZ controller).

 

 

 

 

A surprising and poor move by Sony. Even more of a reason to not update.

 

Information from Sony about Counterfeit controllers which was posted a few days ago:

"Counterfeit PlayStation®3 Wireless Controllers, which are practically identical in appearance to genuine PlayStation®3 Wireless Controllers, have been discovered in the market. SCEA advises consumers to be cautious when buying PlayStation®3 Wireless Controllers from uncertain sources as the quality, reliability and safety of counterfeit products is uncertain, and in some cases, may be dangerous. It is possible that some counterfeit product may ignite or explode, resulting in injury or damage to the user, your PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, or other property. Moreover, SCEA does not support continued functionality of counterfeit or unlicensed controllers in system software updates and these devices may cease to function in the future because of system software updates."

 

 

Let us know, if you have updated, of 3rd party USB devices you have found not working.

 

I'm very glad I'm still at 3.41.. Chip *hopefully* should be here tomorrow, if not, I'm ordering another from elsewhere.

I just brought Scott Pilgrim vs The World from the PSN and it came as a 6kb file and it doesn't appear on the XMB or anything. Any help guys?

Then it might have already downloaded or try going to the download list and re download it, seems too small only 6kb though so something doesn't seem right.

The shipper for my PS3Break is insisting that it will be here Monday or Tuesday (something about Chinese holidays), but I've already ordered a PS3Key from Canada that will be shipping on Monday, which I'll likely end up needing anyways. When I ordered my PS3Break, there was no talk of any "fake" ones. Well as it turns out, the "fake" ones are actually the real ones lol The first batches of PS3Breaks were indeed authentic, and were equipped with am ATMEL chip (fully updatable). When the factories quickly ran out of ATMEL chips, they started producing the PS3Breaks with PIC chips, which are NOT updatable. They then started recieving complaints that the PIC-equipped boards were just that, and quickly released on their website that PIC-Breaks are real, and that the ATMEL-Breaks were fakes (not the case, they simply ran out and made a substitution).

 

Long story short, I should be the owner of both a PS3Break and PS3Key here soon enough. Couple days at best..
