Talking about Home, I got 3 PS accounts (UK, USA & Japan) pretty pissed off I needed to install Home on all three accounts, and also annoying annot use clothes I bought from the UK Home on the USA

Aren't updates mandatory? If an update screws up a few consoles, Sony usually makes it optional until they fix the problem. So if you haven't updated, you haven't lost access to the store or online.

Eh well. Sounds alright I guess. You're getting less than what you're giving? How much GB is the PS3? You don't want to get GTA: The Ballad Of Gay Tony? Unless GTA is not in your interest anymore.

 

I would just buy the new PS3 Slim.

It's a good deal, if you sold all that to a game shop you'd get nothing for it. You'd struggle to get a deal like that on ebay.

I'm hating the new update.

 

The "TV" thing and the BBC iPlayer widget suck, does that mean I should get a TV license now? Our North American brethren won't quite understand this, but the Brits gotta pay equivalent of 250 bucks annually (anally?) just to have a tv.. suicidal.gif I wish I could disable this feature.

 

Also the boxes around the friends names? What is the point of that?

 

I dunno, but I wish they would implement a proper walkman like MUSIC PLAYER.

1: Do I download it on my PC or USB?

2: If I download it on my USB, do I just connect the USB to the ps3? After that what do I do??

3: What site can I use to download 3.00??(NO VIRUSES PLEASE!)

I use the browser to find free themes. Unless you mean those new animated ones I heard about. Are they really that cool?

 

Loving the new update except for the friends list. It looks very out of place. I do love the new sparkles, though. tounge.gif

I haven't had much chance to check out the new update and all the features so dunno what these sparkles are. I quite like the new start-up screen and PS3 logo. However, the friends list, as many have pointed out, looks pretty damn ugly. I much preferred the old one.

Its all magik, I bet it looks nicer on a big HD telly, mines rather small.

Again, like most people said, I dont like the friends like either, the sliver box thing looks naff confused.gif

^^Ya it seems to take a bit longer for me as well. Don't stress it and it should come up. Though after this happened the first time for me, I just re-started the PS3 and it seemed to work fine.

 

Just spotted a THIRD playstation store icon under the video section. One is enough sony!

Firmware 3.00 blamed for malfunctioning PS3 controllers

 

A growing thread on the official PlayStation 3 forum alleges the recent hardware firmware upgrade to version 3.00 has spawned a host of controller connection issues for PS3 users. According to the forum, various wireless controllers -- some users specifically naming DualShock3 model CECHZC2H (Ceramic White) -- are unable to connect to the console. When turned on, users claim the controller LEDs for ports 1 and 2 are activate, but the controller remains inoperable.

 

Users attempting to troubleshoot the problem claim that resetting the controller (through the built-in pinhole reset function) and plugging it directly into the console (via USB) do not correct the error, with one user going so far as doing a complete system restore to no avail. The issue, however, appears to be isolated, but is still a concern for a number of gamers.

 

Joystiq has contacted Sony for comment on the alleged malfunction.

Why the hell didn't the Australian PS3 "Slim" come with the 3.00 update (it was meant to), I got mine today and now I have to wait 4 hours to download the update sad.gif. Could be worst though.

Since the official site is a US site, does my psn account need to be a USA account for the update to successfully download?

I think it's the iPlayer icon on the XMB (for UK people). I think that was a reported bug of FW 3.0.

Ah, some bad news on the God of War Collection.

 

A Sony rep has confirmed it will not release in Europe in 2009.

 

 

“We are currently looking into options to bring God of War I and II to SCEE consumers on PS3; however it will not be possible to release the games this calendar year. We will provide further information in due course.”

What options are there to look into? All games (GOW1, 2 and the PSP version) have done very well in Europe. I really would love to know their thought process when it comes to stuff like this, what a odd decision. As said those that really want it will import so eat that SONY!

You can use the japanese store to get the Afrika one.
